The Stiles Dilemma

RFW President C.W. Sunderland came down to the ring with microphone in hand.

Sunderland said that it was an important night in RFW history as the first Valkyrie Champion will be crowned. He said that Witchmere and Cate Stiles earned the right to compete for the opportunity. However, he just spoke to medical staff and they cannot clear Cate Stiles to compete. The audience boos loudly. Sunderland looked disappointed as well and only nodded solemnly. Sunderland said that Stiles suffered an elbow injury in her qualifying match and he was told she will be back soon. Sunderland said he feels terrible about the situation but because the show must go on, he has a backup plan in place. Due to her impressive debut on the previous episode, Tracy Blood will compete against Witchmere in the championship match. Sunderland said he fully expects the fans will get a main event quality match and welcomed everyone to the show.

Opening Action

The action began with a singles match between Jessie Vega and Annika. Vega, fresh off of a brutal match with Cate Stiles, came out focused on the ring instead of interacting with the fans. She received a mixed, though somewhat positive, reaction from the crowd. Annika came down to the ring looking ready for a fight. The new addition to the RFW roster said something to Vega while pacing around on the canvas that appeared to get under her skin.

Jessie Vega vs. Annika

As soon as the bell rang, Jessie Vega ran at Annika and pushed her into a corner.

Annika pushed Vega back and the two locked up in the middle of the ring. Annika pulled ahead in the opening minutes of the match by utilizing her strong knowledge of judo takedowns. Annika focused her attacks and holds on Vega’s right arm.

Annika’s momentum was stopped when Vega slipped free from Annika and suplexed her to the mat. Vega now began her offense, working on Annika’s back and shoulders.

Annika made a comeback of her own, striking Vega with hard, swift kicks to the ribs. Vega blocked some but was reeling from the attack. Annika tried for an armbar submission but Vega was able to slip out before it was fully locked in. Vega hit a neckbreaker in the middle of the ring and quickly scrambled up to the top turnbuckle, leaping off with a frogsplash. Vega covered for a pin to secure victory.

After getting her hand raised by the referee, Jessie Vega dove on top of Annika and grabbed her arm, putting her in a double wrist lock. She screamed at Annika, “Who can’t get the job done? Huh?!” as she kept the submission on tight. The referee threatened to reverse the decision of the match as Annika cried out in pain while trying to escape. Vega refused to let go of the hold and the referee called for the bell.

Maria Estrella ran down to the ring and managed to pull Vega off of Annika. Estrella sat down next to Vega on the mat and put an arm around her best friend trying to calm her down. Vega pushed Estrella off and stood up, marching out of the ring toward the backstage. Estrella, left in the ring, looked worried and saddened. The ring announcer declared Annika the winner of the match by disqualification as she left the ringside area, grinning.

Mark Blood Declares War

Following his vicious attack on Shawn Roberts at the last event, Mark Blood came down to the ring to explain his actions. He stood in the ring wearing ripped jeans and an old hoodie.

Blood said that he has dedicated his entire adult life to professional wrestling. He’s battled against the best wrestlers in the world today. Blood said he’s been a staple in every promotion he’s been a part of and despite that, he is under appreciated by every promoter and wrestling fan out there. The audience booed him and he only shook his head and smirked in response. Blood said he knows what he says is true when he is put into a Masters of Wrestling match against a broken has-been and a rock star who pretends to be a wrestler when he can’t get booked on stage.

Blood said he realizes the only way to get the proper respect he deserves is by force and issued an open challenge to anyone who thinks they can outshine him in the ring. Music begins to play and Japanese superstar Koji Otaka came down to the ring to applause. Prior to RFW, Otaka wrestled all over Asia and dominated opponents with his array of power moves and submission holds. He is known in his homeland as one of the toughest people to ever step in the ring and his series of hardcore matches against American wrestler Dan Masters are legendary. Over the past few years, Otaka has also been a frequent tag team partner of Shawn Roberts, who was viciously attacked by Blood at the previous show.

As Otaka entered the ring, he sized up Blood, ready for a fight. Blood took a few steps back and climbed out of the ring. He said that if Otaka wants the match, he can have it, but he will have to wait until the next episode. The crowd booed as Mark Blood walked away, leaving Otaka in the ring. Otaka only lowered his brow and stared at Blood.

A Snake In The Badlands

Pit Viper came down to the ring for his match against “Badlands” Bill Stanton with his partner-in-crime Rex Anarchy at his side. The mysterious Pit Viper paced around the ring like a caged animal while waiting for his opponent. Bill Stanton’s music began to play and he came down to the ring full of energy. As he slid into the ring, Pit Viper quickly stepped out to the ring apron and took a few verbal shots at Stanton. Stanton beckoned his opponent to get in the ring. Anarchy stood ringside and directed Pit Viper to take Stanton apart.

Pit Viper vs. “Badlands” Bill Stanton

Both men locked up in the middle of the ring but it was Pit Viper who in the first offense, starting with a headlock and jabbing a thumb into Stanton’s eye when the referee was at a bad angle. Viper followed up with a hard hitting brawling offense that hit hard and often.

Stanton powered back with a spear out of nowhere on Pit Viper and introduced his opponent to some fists, clothelines, and a back body drop. Pit Viper escaped to the outside and tried to regroup but Stanton followed him outside. Pit Viper was thrown into the steel steps and Stanton threatened to take out Rex Anarchy if he got involved before rolling Pit Viper back into the ring. Stanton continued his offense and dropped Pit Viper with a neckbreaker. Just as he was about to go for a pin, Rex Anarchy ran into the ring and nailed Stanton with a chair. The referee called for the bell as Anarchy started attacking Stanton.

Pit Viper joined in until Cole Arcane’s music started playing and he ran down to the ring. Arcane threw Pit Viper over the top rope and then assaulted Anarchy with a flurry of punches in the corner. Anarchy, whose eyebrow was stitched up from an attack by Jade at the previous show, began bleeding from the wound. He was able to escape through the ropes and regrouped with Pit Viper as they retreated to the back. Bill Stanton was declared the winner of the match by disqualification.

Titan Championship Showdown

RFW Titan Champion, King Donovan, walked down to the ring in an expensive suit with the title belt draped over his shoulder. He told the audience that he is the most dominant champion in wrestling and will continue to be after he gets the challenger, Jax Rivers, out of his way. Donovan said that Rivers reputation for overcoming the odds is fantasy and nothing more. He said Rivers has never truly been challenged but that changes at the next episode when he gets in the ring with the champ.

Jax Rivers music began to play and he came down to the ring in casual street clothes.

Rivers told Donovan that he wasn’t surprised to hear the champion being unconcerned about his title defense but he should be. He said that he isn’t the underdog challenger. Instead, he’s equally matched against Donovan but Donovan doesn’t see it. Rivers said that will be his undoing.

King Donovan said that Rivers has it backwards. Donovan said that Rivers’ overconfidence will be his downfall and when the bell rings after the match, King Donovan will continue to be RFW Titan Champion.

Rivers said he doesn’t need to talk anymore. He will prove it in their match. Donovan asked why wait until then, which got the crowd roaring with excitement. Donovan then smiled and said because he said so and laughed. He tossed his microphone and started to walk away but Rivers told him to enjoy his final days as Titan Champion. Donovan turned around and sized up Rivers. He slowly walked back to Rivers and they stared down in the middle of the ring. Donovan said something and then feigned turning away before going for a sucker punch. Rivers saw it coming and ducked, lifting the champion up for a flapjack but Donovan slipped free and rolled out of the ring. While King Donovan retreated, Rivers acknowledged the crowd but it was his own undoing as Donovan slipped back into the ring and crushed him with a full Nelson Slam from behind. Jax Rivers lay on the mat as King Donovan held the Titan Championship belt over his head in triumph.

The Valkyrie Champion

RFW’s Valkyrie Champion was to be decided in the main event match between Witchmere and Tracy Blood. Tracy Blood came down to the ring first to applause. She took her corner and shadow boxed and kicked a few times to prepare herself for the match. Witchmere came out next with Grave and Giant Wraith at her side. Blood looked a bit concerned to see the other members of Children of a Dark Dawn coming down with Witchmere. Both women met in the middle of the ring with the referee.

Just before the women took to their corners to start the match, Cate Stiles’ music began to play. The crowd burst into loud applause as Stiles appeared at the entrance ramp. She was dressed in her ring gear with her right arm in a sling. Stiles made her way into the ring. Microphone in hand, she told everyone that she won the qualifier match with a busted arm and will do the same tonight. The crowd cheered loudly.

C.W. Sunderland came down to the ring and told Stiles that while he appreciates her dedication, she is not cleared to compete and he can’t let her take part in the match. The crowd booed. Sunderland said that he will not forget that she earned a title opportunity and when she returns to action fully healed, that opportunity will be waiting for her. Stiles looked angry and frustrated. After giving herself a moment to think the situation over, Stiles told Witchmere and Tracy Blood that she will be back soon and is coming to claim her Valkyrie Championship.

Stiles and Sunderland left the ringside area and the match began.

Valkyrie Championship Match

Tracy Blood vs. Witchmere

Both women stared each other down in the ring. Witchmere, with a height advantage, seemed to tower over the shorter Tracy Blood. Both women locked up and Witchmere easily overpowered Blood. Witchmere took early advantage, utilizing her strength and throwing Blood around with slams. Blood fought back with a well placed punch followed by some strong kicks. Witchmere attempted to answer with strikes of her own but the MMA veteran easily blocked and attacked with more kicks.

Blood transitioned her offense into traditional wrestling holds, taking a page from her legendary father. Witchmere found herself grounded and unable to get momentum. Blood switched gears even higher, sending Witchmere off the ropes and nailing her with drop kicks. Blood went for a high head kick to Witchmere in an attempt to finish her off but Witchmere avoided the kick and immediately clothelined Blood. Witchmere started pounding on Blood’s head before starting an offense of suplexes and slams. After an irish whip into the ropes, Tracy Blood rebounded with a leaping kick to

Witchmere’s head that sent her down to the mat in a heap. Blood covered quickly but Witchmere managed to kick out at the last second. Outside the ring, the Children appeared rattled as Blood regained the upper hand.

Witchmere, staggering, was in perfect position for another of Blood’s head kicks. Blood threw her kick but Witchmere quickly grabbed the referee by the arm and used him as a shield. Blood’s foot cracked against the referee’s skull and he collapsed to the mat. Immediately, Giant Wraith and Grave climbed into the ring. Blood shifted her eyes to all three members of the Children of a Dark Dawn as they crept closer to her. When Witchmere was within striking range, Blood went for a tackle but Giant Wraith grabbed her and dragged her into a corner. Giant Wraith held Blood’s arms back over the top rope and Grave slipped to the outside and grabbed her ankles. Completely helpless, Witchmere grinned as she applied the head vice. Blood yelled out and squirmed, though she was unable to break free. After a few moments, Blood appeared to pass out from the pain. The Children dropped her to the mat as Witchmere slapped the referee and shook up until he woke up. Witchmere covered Blood for the pin and the referee, barely conscious, slapped his hand to the mat for the three count and called for the bell.

The Children of a Dark Dawn celebrated Witchmere’s victory until C.W. Sunderland came back down to the ring. Sunderland was very angry and said that this match is too important for it to end in such a way. Sunderland called for a new referee and said the match will continue. The audience cheered. Sunderland then banned Giant Wraith and Grave from ringside. Witchmere flipped out and protested but Sunderland stood his ground. Security came down to forced her cohorts to leave ringside. Tracy Blood got to her feet, still feeling the effects of the head vice but motioned that she was ready to continue.

The bell rang and the match resumed. Witchmere took down Tracy Blood and mounted some punches before stomping on her. Witchmere tried for another head vice but Blood slipped free and landed flat on her back. As Witchmere bent over to pick her back up, Blood kicked and clubbed her on top of the head. Witchmere stood up and tried to shake off the effects. Blood quickly stood up, aimed, and drilled a well placed high kick to Witchmere’s jaw. The crowd cheered as Blood quickly covered for a pin. The referee counted to three and Tracy Blood became the first RFW Valkyrie Champion.

Tracy Blood sat on the mat until the referee came to her with the championship belt in hand. She stood up and the referee raised her hand before handing her the belt. She cradled the belt in her arms and looked down at it before breaking into tears. She climbed a turnbuckle and raised the belt in the air, celebrating with the audience.

“Rebel Yell” With Jim Rogers

What an incredible moment in RFW history! Congrats to Tracy Blood on becoming the RFW Valkyrie Champion. She walked into the building unaware of the opportunity ahead of her and came out with the big prize.

I think Sunderland did the right thing restarting the match. Look, there aren’t always clean finishes and you have to roll with it sometimes but this was the beginning of the women’s division. I think it deserves a clean start.

Witchmere is an extremely talented wrestler and she put up a great fight. She doesn’t need to have the Children doing her dirty work for her, though. As a warning to the new champ? I wouldn’t expect anything to change. Watch your back.

Tough break for Cate Stiles. It’s been her lifelong dream to become a world champion wrestler. It’s always tough to watch someone get taken down with an injury. It sounds like it isn’t too serious and she will be back in action very soon. I think she would have put on an awesome match with just the one arm but I’d rather wait it out and see a healthy Cate Stiles in the ring.

So we’ve got a new Valkyrie Champion. Next up? Titan Championship. King Donovan looks as dangerous as ever. Though Donovan may be underestimating Jax Rivers, I think the challenger is going to have his toughest fight yet. No matter which way it goes I expect it will be a classic!

That’s all for now. See you next time!
