Match Results

Man to Man

“Badlands” Bill Stanton came down to the ring and grabbed a microphone. Stanton said that everyone in the audience knows he’s a bad man and that Pit Viper must have known that as well because he needed Rex Anarchy to save him at the last show. Stanton demanded Pit Viper come down to the ring alone for a rematch. Stanton said Pit Viper will receive a proper beat down in the middle of the ring.

Pit Viper came down to the ring alone. He looked angry and traded some inaudible verbal jabs with Stanton.

“Badlands” Bill Stanton vs. Pit Viper

The match started fast and furious as both men came out of their corners and exchanged blows. Stanton, the larger of the two, out pummeled Pit Viper and the crowd went wild as he followed up with some clotheslines, followed by a hip toss right out of the ring. Pit Viper looked back up into the ring in shock at Stanton, who hammed it up for the fans before motioning Pit Viper to get back into the ring.

Stanton continued his momentum in the ring with slams and strikes. Pit Viper hit Stanton with a head butt, which sent the hardcore veteran staggering backward but only infuriated him as he ran forward and tried to clothesline Pit Viper. Pit Viper ducked and caught Stanton from behind with a bulldog. Pit Viper started an offense of his own but it was not meant to last as Stanton came off of an Irish Whip with a spear out of nowhere.

Stanton was looking to put Pit Viper away when Rex Anarchy’s music began to play. Stanton looked out to the ring entrance waiting for Anarchy to emerge. The music abruptly stopped as Pit Viper rolled up Stanton from behind and pinned him for an upset victory.

Pit Viper quickly rolled out of the ring and stood in the aisle way as the referee raised his hand. He laughed at Stanton, who stood in the ring and shook his head with a smile on his face. He mouthed “next time” to Pit Viper as he watched him go backstage.

Best Friends Forever

Maria Estrella came down to the ring wearing a flower patterned sundress with microphone in hand. Estrella said she and Jessie Vega are best friends and she has seen a change in Vega that worries her. She said that Vega has not been her usual self and has become more isolated and is quick to anger. Estrella said that she wanted to handle this behind closed doors but Vega has ignored her phone calls. She asked Vega to come down to the ring.

Jessie Vega came down to the ring with a microphone of her own wearing jeans and a tshirt. She appeared agitated as she entered the ring and glared at Maria Estrella while she stayed in a corner.

Maria Estrella reiterated her concerns to Jessie Vega. She said he is worried about her best friend and wondered why Vega has been so different lately. Vega looked at Estrella incredulously, and said she should know better than anyone. Vega said Estrella was with her while she was out injured with knows how hard it was for her to be unable to get in the ring. Vega said she has to work twice as hard to catch up for the lost time while she was injured. She said Estrella should understand her frustration and her reason for getting payback on Cate Stiles.

Estrella said that she knows how hard it was for Vega but injuries are part of the business they are in. She said that Vega didn’t need to get payback by injuring Cate Stiles. She could have gotten payback by simply being the better wrestler and better person. Vega responded by getting close to Estrella and telling her to mind her own business and let her handle things on her own. Vega told Estrella to stay away from her before tossing her microphone and walking out. Estrella appeared hurt and in shock, unable to speak as Vega walked backstage.

Out For Blood

Koji Otaka came down to the ring for his match against Mark Blood to cheers from the fans. The burly Japanese wrestler accepted the open challenge from Mark Blood at the previous show. Blood injured Shawn Roberts, a wrestler Otaka has great respect for, in a post-match attack two episodes ago.

Mark Blood came down to the ring to a chorus of boos. He ignored the audience as he climbed into the ring.

Koji Otaka vs. Mark Blood

Both men stared each other down in the ring. They locked up in the middle of the ring where Mark Blood was able to transition into a sequence of holds to gain early advantage. Blood focused on Koji Otaka’s back.

Otaka countered with a sudden fireman’s carry and then began a series of clotheslines and hip tosses that rattled Blood. Otaka started crushing Blood with power slams and suplexes before slowing things down with an octopus hold. Blood managed to escape and rolled out of the ring.

Mark Blood threw his hands up and started walking backstage. Otaka, confused, watched him retreat as the referee counted Blood out. Koji Otaka was declared winner by count out.

Otaka, clearly disappointed, stood in the middle of the ring while the referee raised his arm. Mark Blood emerged from the audience, slid into the ring, and clotheslined Otaka from behind. Blood followed up with a German suplex and the finished Otaka off with a tombstone piledriver. The audience rejected Blood as he stood over Otaka with his arms raised.

A Dark Celebration

Speaking of the Blood family, the new RFW Valkyrie Champion, Tracy Blood, came down to the ring to address her winning of the title at the previous show. The audience cheered as Tracy, wearing a dress shirt, skirt, and heels with the Valkyrie Championship belt around her waist, interacted with fans on her way down the aisle. She climbed in the ring and took a microphone.

Tracy said that she may have started her career as a martial artist but wrestling has always been a part of her life and winning the title was a dream come true. She said that she will be a strong champion and prove herself every night she gets in the ring. She thanked her father, the legendary wrestler Mike Blood, and her friends and family for helping her get to this point. Tracy said that she is a fighting champion and will be ready for whoever challenges her next.

Before she could say anything else, the lights went out. When they came back on, Tracy Blood stood face to face with Witchmere. Giant Wraith and Grave flanked Tracy on both sides. Witchmere ripped the microphone out of Tracy’s hand and told her that the title is rightfully hers. She told Tracy to hand the title over immediately or she will regret what happens next. Tracy looked nervous but stood her ground. She told Witchmere to stand in the ring alone for once as she stepped out of her heels and removed the title belt from her waist. Witchmere motioned for her partners to leave the ring. They stepped out and both women stood face to face.

Witchmere slapped Tracy Blood hard across the face. The champion stumbled backward and then lunged back with a forearm to Witchmere. Both women started brawling in the ring. Tracy threw Witchmere into the ropes and nailed her with a drop kick. Tracy looked in position to go for a high head kick. As Witchmere began to stand up, Giant Wraith stood on the apron, distracting the champion just long enough for Witchmere to grab her by the head and apply the head vice. Tracy screamed as she tried to fight out of the hold but passed out from the pain. Witchmere carelessly tossed Tracy to the mat and left. Tracy, dazed, sat in the ring and looked angry as she watched the Children of a Dark Dawn leave ringside.

Jax Rivers Takes On The King

The crowd cheered as Jax Rivers came down to the ring to challenge King Donovan for the RFW Titan Championship. Rivers, the former Ring Warriors World Champion, looked to continue his climb to the top of the wrestling world by adding another title to his resume.

King Donovan came down to the ring wearing lavish robes and jewelry. As he stood in the ring, a spotlight shone on him and he opened his robe, revealing the Titan Championship belt, which sparkled in the light. He demanded the referee remove the belt from his waist.

Both men met in the middle of the ring and stared each other down before taking their corners.

RFW Titan Championship Match Jax Rivers vs King Donovan (c)

King Donovan quickly made it known that he was the ruler of the ring by dominating the opening minutes of the match. Donovan, the more powerful of the two, brutalized Jax Rivers with hard punches, slams, and suplexes. Donovan picked up Rivers with a gorilla press and tossed him over the ropes to the floor below.

The referee slid out of the ring to check on Rivers, who was slow to move but signaled that he was ok to continue. King Donovan stood in the ring and posed for the crowd, who responded with boos. As Rivers got onto the ring apron and was about to step through the ropes, Donovan grabbed him by the head and pulled him over the top rope.

Donovan’s assault continued. The Titan Champion tried to end the match with some pin attempts but it was obvious that Jax Rivers had more fight left in him. Donovan slammed Rivers into a corner and ran off the ropes. Donovan went for a clothesline in the corner but Rivers narrowly dodged out of the way. Donovan hit the turnbuckle hard, chest first. The stunned champion staggered backward. Rivers dug deep and start to mount his first real offense of the match, striking with drop kicks and clotheslines before taking Donovan off of his feet and working him on the mat with holds and submissions.

King Donovan regained control but not for long as Jax Rivers was able to keep up with the champion and continued to chip away at him. Donovan was thrown off the ropes and Rivers attemped his flapjack finisher but Donovan squirmed away and rolled out of the ring. As Donovan stood outside to take a breather, Rivers dove over the top rope with a splash on to of Donovan. Rivers waited for Donovan to get back on his feet and nailed him with a standing drop kick that sent the champion backward, thumping the back of his head against a ring post. Donovan fell to his knees. Rivers dragged Donovan to the ring apron and managed to roll him into the ring. Rivers slid under the ropes and went for a pin attempt. Donovan kicked out by a hair.

Jax Rivers was looking to finish the match and went for a second flapjack but King Donovan slipped out of Rivers’ grasp and quickly drilled the challenger to the mat with the full nelson slam. Donovan was in a weakened state and was unable to cover quickly enough, giving Rivers enough time to recover and kick out. Both men got to their feet and stared each other down from across the ring. Each looked to be feeling the effects of the match but charged at each other and tied up in the middle of the ring. Donovan’s strength advantage put him back in control of the match but it would not be long before Rivers slipped free from a second full nelson slam attempt and started another offensive rally. Rivers sent the champion off the ropes with an irish whip and caught him on the rebound with a flapjack. Rivers quickly covered. The referee counted to three and Jax Rivers became the new RFW Titan Champion.

King Donovan stood outside of the ring in shock as Jax Rivers was handed the RFW Titan Championship belt and celebrated in the ring. The king of RFW let the new champion have his moment in the ring but his look said it all. It wasn’t over.

“Rebel Yell” With Jim Rogers

Congratulations to Jax Rivers, the new RFW Titan Champion! Rivers took down one of the toughest wrestlers I’ve seen in a long time in a hard fought match. That was a fantastic match and Rivers showed a lot of heart. King Donovan isn’t going to go away quietly. I am looking forward to the rematch. Can Rivers beat the king a second time?

Speaking of champions, Tracy Blood was in a bad spot tonight. The Children of a Dark Dawn want that Valkyrie Championship around Witchmere’s waist. Tracy is a strong fighter but this is looking like an uphill battle.

With Rivers picking up the Titan Championship and Tracy Blood carrying the Valkyrie Championship, it feels like RFW has entered the second chapter of its history proper. I think we are going to see the new era of RFW take shape now. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Mark Blood high tailing it out of his match with Koji Otaka looks like a cowardly move at first but coming back in after the bell for a sneak attack felt more like Blood is playing mind games with Otaka.

Genuinely sad to see Maria Estrella and Jessie Vega’s friendship strained. I know they were very close when I was running RFW. Practically inseparable. I hope they work out their differences. True friendship in this business can be hard to find.

That’s all for this week. See you next time.
