Revised Rules For Steel Cage Matches
Ahead of the main event match at “Chaos In a Cage”, Rapid Fire Wrestling released revisions to the rules for Steel Cage matches.
- Once the participants and referee enter the cage, the door is closed and will not be opened until the finish of the match. The only exception is if medical staff must enter the ring or a referee must be replaced. While the door is opened, the match is in a timeout status.
- A participant can only win the match by pinfall, submission, by climbing over the top of the cage and touching the floor with both feet, or by referee stoppage.
RFW President C.W. Sunderland commented on the new rules.
“A previous steel cage match in RFW ended with a competitor winning the match by exiting through the door. We received feedback from fans who felt this was a poor option for winning a match. We have adjusted the rules and are eliminating this option.”
Outside The Ring
Jessie Vega Attends Music Awards Show
Jessie Vega was seen on the red carpet at a music awards show. The RFW star was quoted at the event stating that she was working on getting a record deal in place but wouldn’t elaborate further. Is Vega looking to balance a wrestling career and a music career?

We love to hear from our fans! If you have a question or comment for an RFW personality, send it to rapidfirewrestling@outlook.com!
Gina from Tucson has a question for Cate Stiles:
“I am a big fan and so happy to see you back in the ring! You are one of the most intense wrestlers in RFW. I’m curious, what do you do in your downtime to relax?”
Thanks for the question, Gina! She is intense, isn’t she? We were nervous about even passing your question along to her. Surprisingly, she responded!
“I don’t talk about my personal life very much. I feel like I give enough of myself in that ring. However, you caught me on a particularly giving day. I’m kind of a homebody. When I have a day off I enjoy cooking and having dinner with friends.”
Travis from Chattanooga wants to know about future Masters of Wrestling matches:
“Yo, what’s going on with the Masters of Wrestling matches? I thought we were getting more of them. RFW is such a tease sometimes. You guys suck.”
Umm, thanks for the letter Travis. With fans like you, who needs critics! We kid. We kid. We took your question to RFW President C.W. Sunderland.
“I am very invested in continuing the Masters of Wrestling matches. I know we haven’t said much about them but I promise you that more are in the works. We don’t want to treat MoW matches as something we throw together just so we can say we have them. We have ideas and are actively working on making them reality. Finding the right time and place to introduce another MoW match is the hard part. We will try to suck less in the future. Thanks for your letter.”
Ben from Newark asks:
“This is a question for King Donovan. What country are you a king of?”
Hey, Ben? Thanks for taking the time to write to us. We asked one of King Donovan’s servants to pass along your question. The servant merely rolled his eyes and walked away. We never heard back from anyone in the Donovan camp. We’ll report back if we hear anything but we aren’t holding out much hope.
Match Results
Vito DeFazio kicked off the show by coming down to the ring for an opening match. DeFazio grabbed a microphone and said that he knows most people don’t think very much of “the Fozzman” but he will prove himself right in the RFW ring. DeFazio said he dreams big and has no fear of taking on big challenges. DeFazio then challenged RFW’s newest wrestler, Killer Malone, to a match.
Killer Malone’s music began to play and he walked down to the ring looking angry. Malone, a mainstay in New Revolution Wrestling League, made a name for himself by being one of the toughest brawlers in the business. He climbed into the ring and waited for the bell to ring.
Vito DeFazio vs. Killer Malone
As soon as the match began, both men stepped toward the middle of the ring. Before Vito DeFazio could even react, Killer Malone blasted him with a right hook, knocking him out cold before even hitting the mat. Malone covered for the victory.
Killer Malone stood up, got his hand raised, and immediately left. Vito DeFazio sat on his knees in the middle of the ring and stared blankly at the mat.
Mark Blood Calls Out Koji Otaka
Mark Blood came down to the ring dressed in his ring gear. He took a microphone and climbed into the ring. Blood said he knows Koji Otaka is in the building and challenged him to one more match. Blood said he would wait as long as it took for Otaka to come out for a fight.
It didn’t take long at all. Koji Otaka came down to the ring and slid under the ropes. As soon as he entered the ring, Mark Blood began to stomp on him and attacked. Blood threw Otaka out of the ring to the floor and followed. Blood savagely attacked Otaka around the ring, using the ring apron, steps, and guard rail to inflict more damage to the Japanese star. Otaka fought back, throwing Blood over the guard rail and into the crowd.
Both men brawled through the audience. Otaka used a chair and whipped it over Blood’s back. Blood found a soda machine near a wall and threw Otaka head first into it. Soda cans began spilling out of it.
The wrestlers eventually made their way back to the ringside area and back into the ring, though their match never officially started. It didn’t matter. Otaka and Blood stood in the center of the ring and traded fists back and forth. Otaka’s eye began to swell and Mark Blood spat blood from his mouth.
RFW President C.W. Sunderland came out to the arena with a microphone and warned both men to stop immediately. They separated and looked at Mr. Sunderland as he stood at the end of the entrance aisle. Sunderland said that they’ve both made it clear that neither man would give in to the other to finally settle their differences. He told both men to clean up and get rested because they will be competing against each other in a Last Man Standing match at the next show.
Mark Blood threw a mean stare to Koji Otaka and never released he gaze as he stepped through the ropes and jumped down to the floor. Otaka stared back until Blood left the ringside area.
King Donovan Returns
Former RFW Titan Champion King Donovan appeared for the first time since losing the title to Jax Rivers. Donovan, dressed in a sharp suit, sunglasses, and jewelry, stood in the ring and surveyed the audience before speaking. Donovan said that everyone is so pleased to see Jax Rivers pretend to be champion but deep down, every single person knows that River’s title victory was a fluke. Donovan proclaimed that he is the greatest wrestler in the world, he is the king of wrestling, and he will right the wrong that happened in his match with Rivers. Donovan said that as champion he is entitled to a rematch and has invoked the rematch clause. Donovan sent a message to Rivers; enjoy the fairytale while it lasts because his dreams are about to be destroyed.
RFW Titan Champion Jax Rivers came out to the ring and told King Donovan that he admits the match between them was the toughest he had ever been in. Rivers said that Donovan did deserve a rematch and he looks forward to their next encounter. He told Donovan that he is delusional if he thinks losing the title was a fluke. Rivers said the only one in the ring that believes in fairytales is King Donovan. Donovan pursed his lips and looked ready to attack but then backed off. He smiled, nodded, and backed out of the ring, leaving it to the champion. Donovan looked confident as he walked away from the ring, showing his patience before his precious title is reclaimed. Rivers stood on a turnbuckle and held up the title belt to the cheering audience.
RFW Originals Return
During RFW’s initial run, Yurei and Mysterie were regular performers in the ring. After a brief hiatus away from the company, both women have returned and faced off in a match.
Yurei, the powerhouse Japanese wrestler, came down to the ring first and looked very focused on the task at hand.
Next out was Mysterie, the energetic high flyer from New Orleans. Decked out in her Mardi Gras-styled luchador mask, multi-colored hair and attire, the fan favorite slapped hands with the crowd on her way to the ring.
Yurei vs. Mysterie
Both wrestlers put together a tough match that went back and forth early on. The more powerful Yurei outmuscled Mysterie with throws, slams, and clotheslines. Mysterie was not outmatched, however, responding with a high speed offense off the ropes and using quick kicks.
Yurei took control the match, keeping Mysterie grounded on the mat and wearing her down with holds and submissions, mostly focusing on her back. Mysterie slipped free from a body slam attempt and began to rattle Yurei with a running offense off the ropes and turnbuckles.
After a hurricanrana that dropped Yurei to the mat, Mysterie leaped up on the top turnbuckle and went for a corkscrew splash. Just as her feet left the ropes, however, Yurei spun up to her feet, took aim, and caught Mysterie in midair with a spear. Yurei covered for a pin to win the match.
Cate Stiles Wants A Fight. Now.
Cate Stiles came out to the ring to an applause. She was wearing her ring gear and had a laser focus on the ring while walking down the aisle. She climbed through the ropes and summoned a microphone from someone at ringside.
Stiles said it felt good to be back in the ring. She said she has dedicated her life to being in a wrestling ring and she feels more at home between the ropes than anywhere else. Stiles said that her goal is to become champion but before that she has some business to attend to first. Stiles said that Jessie Vega tried, and failed, to break her arm. Stiles pointed to her elbow, which was bandaged under her elbow pad. Stiles said that if Vega is so tough, she could come and try to finish the job. Stiles demanded that Vega come to the ring for a match.
The crowd got pumped up as they waited for Vega to appear, however, C.W. Sunderland came out to the ring. He told Stiles that he was thrilled to see her back in the RFW ring and called for a round of applause. Stiles didn’t react and instead only cocked her head slightly to the side and raised an eyebrow. She waited for Sunderland to speak again. He told Stiles that he thinks another match between her and Jessie Vega is a good idea, but unfortunately, Vega requested the night off and is not in the building tonight. The audience booed and Stiles just shook her head with a smirk. Sunderland said he will make the match official and it will be the main event match at the next show. Stiles said Vega had better come prepared before tossing the microphone and promptly leaving the ring.
A Cold Steel Finale
Since the dawn of RFW, Cole Arcane and Rex Anarchy have been tangled in a brutal war that has pulled in several other people along the way. This time, it’s one-on-one as both men were set to do battle locked inside a steel cage.
Cole Arcane came out to the ring first with his girlfriend, Jade, by his side. She followed him to the ring, held his hand, and kissed him before he stepped into the cage. Jade left the ringside area while Arcane paced around the ring waiting for his opponent.
Rex Anarchy came down to the ring next. He walked up to the cage and taunted Arcane before stalking around the cage and climbing in the door. The referee signaled for the door to be closed. Both wrestlers kept their distance but looked eager to lock up in the ring as they waited for the bell.
Steel Cage Match
Cole Arcane vs. Rex Anarchy
Before the bell even finished ringing, Cole Arcane and Rex Anarchy locked up in the middle of the ring to start a series of back and forth pushing, shoving, and brawling. Arcane threw Anarchy into the steel cage several times before beginning a strong offense. Anarchy tried to stop the onslaught but Cole Arcane released a year’s worth of frustration by brutalizing him.
Anarchy was sliced open on the cage, battered in the turnbuckles, tackled and punched in the middle of the ring, and tossed over the ropes, sandwiching him between the ropes and cage wall. Arcane was relentless in his attack. Anarchy looked panicked as he tried to find a means of escape. In a last ditch effort, Anarchy countered a clothesline by catching Arcane and dropping him face first on a turnbuckle.
With Arcane stunned, Rex Anarchy started to make a comeback, methodically working Arcane’s back. Anarchy looked more confident as he continued his attack. As Anarchy gloated and taunted Arcane, Arcane mustered the strength to leap up with a forearm smash and started another offensive.
The audience began to boo as Rex Anarchy’s cohort, Pit Viper came down to the ring. Cole Arcane heard the audience and looked to the aisle. In his moment of distraction, Anarchy attacked Arcane and stumbled over to the cage wall to meet Pit Viper. Pit Viper started to slide a metal pipe through the cage. Before he could get it through, “Badlands” Bill Stanton rushed to the ring and pulled him away. Anarchy reached for the pipe but Stanton pulled it free from the cage. Arcane came from behind Anarchy and tossed him with a German suplex.
Outside the ring, Stanton stalked after Pit Viper. Stanton caught up and began to attack Pit
Viper with the metal pipe. Pit Viper took a few shots, tripped backward and then begged Stanton for mercy. When Stanton continued to come forward, Pit Viper ran off. Stanton chased him backstage.
Back in the ring, Rex Anarchy continued to take a beating until he caught Arcane with a wild punch that landed just right, staggering Arcane. Anarchy followed up with a back breaker, a whip into the turnbuckle, and finally a fisherman buster. Anarchy covered for a pin. Bloodied and battered, Rex Anarchy picked up the victory.
After the bell, Rex Anarchy had his hand raised and looked down at Arcane. Anarchy smiled and held his arms in the air before leaving.
