Outside The Ring

Vito DeFazio Helps Habitat For Humanity

As part of his work with Hardworkin’ Dave Smith to improve himself both in life and in the ring, Vito DeFazio helped Habitat For Humanity build a home for a family in need. A fellow volunteer mentioned that DeFazio was enthusiastic about helping but seemed insecure about the tools he was using and proper way to do the job. DeFazio was quoted saying that he found the experience very rewarding and it taught him some wonderful life lessons.

Bill Stanton Coaches Little League Team

Though he may be a bad man from the Badlands, Bill Stanton has a soft spot for youth sports. Stanton, along with fellow wrestling legend Tiger Johnson, were guest coaches for competing little league baseball teams. Their appearance was to attract people to a fundraiser the league was running to help provide better activities for inner-city youth. Stanton’s team won the game but, in his own words, “everyone is a winner today if it helps these kids.”

Cate Stiles Comments On The Future Of RFW

Several RFW stars, including Cate Stiles, are on a media tour promoting some upcoming shows. Stiles was interviewed on a local news broadcast and was asked about RFW’s momentum and where she sees the promotion in the future. Stiles said that RFW is being built for the future and we are already seeing that foundation being put in place. She said the women’s division is about to really take off and then promoted herself by saying that RFW already has the hottest star in all of wrestling. When asked who she was speaking about, she laughed, winked, and confidently walked away.

Disaster At Habitat For Humanity Worksite

A freakish accident occurred at a Habitat For Humanity worksite where RFW star Vito DeFazio was recently volunteering. One of the homes being constructed collapsed, which fell on another house being constructed, which collapsed on top of some heavy machinery, which was hit just right and caused a component to burst into flames, which sent the entire worksite ablaze. Fire rescue teams were able to put out the fire quickly but the homes were a total loss. A person familiar with the matter said that “The supports on this house were built all wrong. It’s like someone was using wood glue instead of nails. Also, a lot of the boards were sized wrong. Who is the idiot who was working on this?” No one was hurt in the accident.

Show Results

The show started off with Killer Malone coming down to the ring with Jade by his side. After defeating Cole Arcane in singles action at the last show, Jade dumped Arcane and aligned herself with Malone. Malone stepped through the ropes and posed in the ring while Jade stood behind him with beamed with pride as she watched. The audience booed with disapproval toward both of them.

Malone was a little more upbeat than usual as he addressed the audience and regarded himself as the luckiest guy in the world. He said he has come to the hottest wrestling company around and now he has the hottest woman in the world. Life is good, according to Killer Malone. He then hands Jade the microphone.

Jade addressed her actions at the previous show. She said that she has always had goals in her life and becoming Valkyrie Champion is one of them. Jade said that her relationship with a loser like Cole Arcane was just holding her back from any real opportunities and now that she is with a real man, she will have those opportunities.

Malone then addressed the Titan Championship. He counted off a list with his fingers of people in the title picture. According to Malone, King Donovan is away somewhere feeling sorry for himself, the Children of a Dark Dawn and Rex Anarchy are too busy fighting over whose little club is cooler. Meanwhile, Malone said he has never lost his focus of why he came to RFW and challenged Titan Champion Jax Rivers. Jade then pointed at Malone and told the audience to look at her man, the next Titan Champion. Malone’s music played and the couple left the ring.

Koji Otaka vs. Dan Masters

Longtime rivals Koji Otaka and Dan Masters met in singles action. Both men looked eager for the bell to ring as they verbally sparred with each other in their respective corners. Once the match began, the audience was treated to a physical match that mixed Masters’ technical wrestling with Otaka’s power moves. Both men added in a bit of a brawling style as well. Otaka had Masters reeling and tried to end the match with a dragon suplex but Masters mustered the strength to kick out.

Masters made a comeback and started wearing down Otaka with holds and submissions. Otaka fought back, though, and clotheslined Masters over the top rope. Otaka jumped off the ring apron with a double axe handle to Masters’ back and then began brawling with Masters on the outside. Masters threw a steel chair at Otaka from a distance and after hitting, he followed up with a strong offense on the outside. Otaka started bleeding from a laceration above his eyebrow before the action continued in the ring.

Masters tried to finish off Otaka but the Japanese star stayed in the fight, ultimately leading to both men just slugging it out in the middle of the ring. As fists went flying harder and faster, blood and sweat flew through the air. Otaka stumbled and fell down through the ropes to the outside with a thud. Masters followed and started brawling with Otaka again. Both men brawled up the aisle toward the entrance area as the referee counted both men out. Even after the bell, Otaka and Masters continued to fight until referees came out from backstage and pulled them apart. The match officially ended in a double countout.

The New Maria Estrella

The main event of the previous show saw Maria Estrella as special referee end the match while Jessie Vega was in Cate Stiles’ vicious ankle lock. Vega never actually submitted and questions remain as to why Estrella ended the match. Estrella came down to the ring to address her actions to something of a mixed reaction from the crowd.

Estrella came right out of the gate with acknowledgment that Jessie Vega never gave up in that match. She reminded everyone that Vega and Stiles had been at each other for over a year and both women were barely cleared by doctors to compete in the match. Vega’s ankle, already in bad shape, was injured further in the match. After seeing the ankle lock applied for the second time, Estrella wanted to prevent further serious injury and called for a finish to the match.

Jessie Vega’s music began to play. Vega, who was not advertised or expected to be in the building, came down to the ring on crutches. Vega never took her eyes off of Maria Estrella and called for a microphone after getting in the ring. Vega got close to Estrella and berated her for her actions. Vega asked why Estrella felt she needed to protect her. Estrella responded by saying that is what friends do, even if one of those friends hasn’t been thinking very clearly. Vega said she started thinking clearly when he realized that she needed to do whatever it takes to get to the top and Estrella can’t understand that.

Whatever remnants of a friendship remained was destroyed when Jessie Vega told Maria Estrella that she is too soft to ever be successful in RFW, people like herself will just use Estrella to get what they want, walk all over her, and leave her behind. Vega then promoted herself by saying that she is heading off to record an album and when she returns to RFW, the fans will be honored to see a pop culture superstar in their presence and expects that Estrella will no longer be employed and will be a faded memory for never being good enough to make any kind of lasting impact. Maria Estrella looked furious as her eyes welled up with tears.

Vega tossed the microphone and was about to leave when Maria Estrella grabbed and tossed her over her shoulder in position for a running powerslam. Vega yelled and squirmed, begging Estrella to put her down. Estrella kicked Vega’s crutches out of the ring and then ran and drove Vega to the mat with the powerslam. Estrella stood up and let out a yell of frustration. The audience cheered. Estrella looked down at Vega who was curled up on the mat in pain before walking out and going backstage.

Washed Up?

Shawn Roberts came out to the ring next to the cheers of the audience. On his way to the ring wearing designer jeans, athletic t-shirt, and black shoes, he pumped up the crowd before sliding under the ropes into the ring. He posed on a turnbuckle before taking a microphone and waiting for his music to stop.

Shawn Roberts thanked the crowd for the applause and thanked every RFW fan who believed in him and stuck with him through thick and thin. Roberts recounted his career, starting as a rookie in New Revolution Wrestling League before heading to Japan. After spending almost a decade wrestling in Japan, he was humbled to find that audiences back home remembered him and followed his career while he was away. He said that after suffering a serious neck injury, he thought his career might be over and was prepared to begin a career as an announcer at RFW. Thankfully, Roberts said he was cleared for competition and is back. Then he turned his attention to Mark Blood. Roberts said that coming back to the ring to compete was a dream come true and Blood nearly took it away. He said that few people get a second chance but he was given a third chance and promises to make the most of it in RFW.

Mark Blood’s music began to play and he stepped out to the entrance aisle. Blood shook his head before telling Roberts that he should have taken the opportunity while he was on the shelf to retire and go away. Blood said Roberts is washed up. Roberts laughed it off and said that he expected a veteran like Mark Blood to be less naive. Roberts took off his shirt and threw it out into the audience before challenging Blood in the ring for a match. Blood, dressed in ring gear, started walking toward the ring. Just as he reached the ring apron, Blood smiled, backed away, and said that he would catch Roberts next time. The crowd booed as Blood walked backward up the aisle, taunting Shawn Roberts. Roberts’ music began to play as he watched Blood leave the arena. He psyched up the crowd again before leaving himself.

The Critical Challenger

With the Valkyrie Championship on the line at the next show, number one contender Annika made her presence felt by coming down to the ring to call out champion Tracy Blood. Annika, wearing a black leather jacket, jeans, and boots, stood in the ring and studied the audience before telling them all that they are looking at the next Valkyrie Champion. The audience booed at her over-confidence. Annika looked surprised and then insisted that it is true. She cited the match that Tracy Blood had against Yurei at the previous show. Annika pointed out that Blood had a rough go of it and won the match by the skin of her teeth. Annika promised that she will go to the next level, take Blood down, and prove that Blood only became champion by favoritism and is a fraud.

This brought out Tracy Blood who had the support of the audience. She came down to the ring in a dress shirt, skirt, and high heels, the Valkyrie Championship belt was draped across her shoulder. Blood looked at Annika and said that she underestimates the challenge she has in front of her. While Annika has been coming out and spouting off conspiracy theories, Blood said she has been training hard and is ready to kick Annika’s head off of her shoulders. Annika challenged that confidence and told Blood to try it right now. Blood slipped off her high heels and carefully placed the title belt on the mat. She got in an offensive stance. Annika removed her leather jacket and motioned to the champion to bring it. The audience began cheering loudly for the confrontation.

Tracy Blood went in to strike and Annika dodged. Annika came back with some kicks and punches, forcing Blood against the ropes. Annika went for a clothesline but Blood dodged, rolled behind Annika, and knocked her down to the ring with a school boy takedown. Both women quickly got to their feet but Tracy Blood went for a high head kick immediately. Annika managed to partially block the hit with her arm but took enough of the impact that she fell to the mat. Annika slipped out of the ring clutching her arm. She yelled up at Blood, telling her to say goodbye to the Valkyrie Championship. Tracy stood on a turnbuckle and held the title belt over her head at Annika looked up at her before leaving. Blood catered to the audience before leaving.

Dark Chaos

When Rex Anarchy and his protege Pit Viper crossed paths with The Children of a Dark Dawn, it was inevitable that both teams would have to settle their differences in the ring. Anarchy and Pit Viper came down to the ring first for this volatile tag team match and Anarchy had a microphone. On their way down the aisle, Anarchy promised that the audience was about to see the last of the Children of a Dark Dawn.

When the Children came to the ring, smoke filled the aisle and an ominous red glow filled the arena. Grave and Giant Wraith stalked down toward the ring with Witchmere behind them. As they approached the ring, Grave and Giant Wraith stepped aside and watched as Witchmere walked up the steps and into the ring. They soon followed behind. Both teams stood face-toface as the lights came back up and the music stopped. Witchmere stood behind her team and looked emotionless. The referee told her to leave the ring before he rang the bell. She climbed through the ropes to the floor and stayed in the corner of her team.

Tag Team Match Rex Anarchy and Pit Viper vs. Grave and Giant Wraith w/ Witchmere

Grave and Rex Anarchy started the match for their teams and began shoving each other before they began brawling. Grave took early command for his team but Anarchy came back with an assault of his own and began frequent tagging with Pit VIper. Both men wore Grave down but a small window of opportunity was just what he needed to get to his corner and tag in Giant Wraith who then plowed through both Anarchy and Pit Viper.

Giant Wraith tried for a chokeslam on Pit Viper early in the match but Pit Viper broke free used a back stabber on his much larger foe. Pit Viper used his speed advantage to attack Giant Wraith with a running offensive. He managed to get Giant Wraith in a cobra clutch, however, the big man was too strong and easily broke free of the hold.

As the action continued, Rex Anarchy and Pit Viper began to slowly hold momentum in the match. Using frequent tags and good strategy, they kept on their larger opponents. Anarchy nailed a Fisherman Buster on Grave and covered for a pin but Giant Wraith saved his partner. Pit Viper jumped into the ring and all four men began brawling. Outside the ring, Witchmere ominously stood silent as she watched the action unfold in the ring.

The referee was able to regain some order in the match. After some more back and forth, Giant

Wraith and Anarchy found themselves the legal participants in the match. Giant Wraith had the size and strength advantage and manhandled Anarchy. It was looking like Anarchy was going to fall victim to the chokeslam but somehow countered the move with a tornado DDT. From that point, Anarchy was able to take the fight to Giant Wraith.

Giant Wraith tried to make it to his corner on his hands and knees while Rex Anarchy stalked him from behind. As the big man was close to making a tag, Grave suddenly fell from the ring apron to the floor. Witchmere had grabbed him by the legs and pulled him down. Witchmere showed her true colors by putting Grave in a head vice and subduing him. Giant Wraith looked on in shock and Rex Anarchy stood over him with a huge grin. He grabbed Giant Wraith by the head and planted him with a DDT. Anarchy covered for the pin and picked up a victory for his team.

The audience was in a stunned state as they watched Rex Anarchy and Pit Viper celebrate in the ring. Witchmere slid into the ring. Anarchy began clapping and then walked over to her. He grabbed her wrist and Pit Viper’s and then raised their hands. All three stood in unity in the center of the ring. Outside the ring, Giant Wraith tended to Grave on the outside. Both were in a state of shock, unsure of what was going on. While they were distracted with their own thoughts, Anarchy, Pit Viper, and Witchmere exited the ring and found steel chairs. The former Children of a Dark Dawn were mercilessly beaten with the chairs. Rex Anarchy then powerbombed Grave through the timekeeper’s table. With an assist by Witchmere and Pit Viper, Anarchy powerbombed Giant Wraith on top of the steel steps.

Anarchy motioned for Pit Viper and Witchmere to follow him as they left ringside. Grave and Giant Wraith were left in heaps on the floor.
