Sources working behind the scenes in RFW have said that Mark Blood and Shawn Roberts are so frustrated with each other that they must be kept separated. RFW Show #021 Results
Series 2 kicked off with a singles match between Jade and Kami King. Jade, fresh off of dumping Killer Malone for failing to win the Titan Championship, came to the ring with an arrogant swagger.
Kami King burst into the arena and brought excitement to the audience as she ran down to the ring and slapped hands with them at ringside. She slid under the ropes and posed on the turnbuckle before focusing her attention on Jade.
The match started at a fast pace due to an early offense by Kami King. The crowd was behind King as she used a running offense and attacked from all directions, confusing Jade and keeping her off her game. After a near fall by King, Jade woke up and quickly turned a cross body block attempt into a powerslam.
Jade used her size and strength advantage to power ahead in the match. After a series of suplexes, slams, and a big back body drop, Jade looked to be closing in on a victory. King made a late match comeback and went for a superkick but Jade dodged it and used a pumphandle slam to down King, cover for the pin, and pick up a victory.
Valkyrie Championship Contention
Cate Stiles’ music began to play and the crowd cheered as she made her way to the ring. Standing in her ring gear, Stiles told the audience that she has been around since the very beginning of RFW and in that time, she has seen the Women’s division grow and evolve but she’s still the best wrestler in the world today. Stiles then challenged Valkyrie Champion, Witchmere, to a title match.
As the crowd was cheering over Stiles’ challenge, Aurora Starkey’s music cut them off, turning the cheers into boos. Starkey came down to the ring and stalked around Stiles, whom appeared irritated at the interference. Starkey said that she and Stiles want the same thing and Stiles would have to go through her first. Starkey refuted Stiles’ claim as the best wrestler in the world and said that no one ever heard of Stiles before RFW. Meanwhile, Starkey has been headlining shows and winning championships around the world.
Stiles warned Starkey that she was making a fatal mistake. Stiles appeared ready to fight but Starkey avoided physical conflict. She left the ring and confidently posed in the aisle before leaving.
Rapid Fire Festival
Before continuing the action, RFW President C.W. Sunderland came down to the ring. After thanking the fans for helping to make RFW a success, he said that RFW wanted to show their appreciation in a big way. Sunderland announced that RFW’s 25th show will be the first ever Rapid Fire Festival. This special event will be a large, outdoor picnic with the ring setup right out on the lawn. The festival will be open to the public and RFW’s wrestlers will be mingling with the attendees in various activities.
Because Rapid Fire Festival will also serve as the finale of Series 2, both the Titan Championship and Valkyrie Championship titles will be defended. In addition, there will also be a Masters of Wrestling match. Sunderland said that details about the MoW Match will be coming at a later date. Sunderland once again thanked “the best fans in the world” and told them to enjoy the rest of the show.
Unfinished Business
Killer Malone’s music began to play and he stormed down to the ring, grabbing a microphone and yelling to cut his music off. Malone had unsuccessfully challenged Titan Champion Jax Rivers in a Triple Threat Match that also included Cole Arcane.
Malone claimed that he would be Titan Champion right now had he been given a fair shot against Jax Rivers. Instead, Cole Arcane got tacked onto the match and ruined everything. Malone said he was not done in his quest for the Titan Championship but needs to deliver a beating to Cole Arcane first.
Cole Arcane’s music hit and he entered the arena to loud applause. Arcane grabbed a microphone of his own and looked around Killer Malone with curiosity. After pondering the situation, he asked where Jade was, which infuriated Malone.
Killer Malone vs. Cole Arcane
It was a fast and furious exchange of blows to start the match. Killer Malone’s skilled fists got the better of Cole Arcane and set the tone for the opening minutes of the match. Malone was vicious in his attacks and kept Arcane down on the mat. Arcane slipped free from a headlock and turned the tables, taking the offense to Malone.
The crowd cheered on Cole Arcane as he wore down Killer Malone. After a clothesline into the corner, Arcane got Malone in position for a running bulldog but as he ran out of the corner, Pit Viper slid into the ring and booted him in the face. The referee called for the bell.
Pit Viper was joined by the other members of the Lords of Chaos, Rex Anarchy, and Valkyrie Champion Witchmere. The Lords of Chaos attacked Cole Arcane and Killer Malone. Arcane was tossed through the ropes to the outside where Anarchy followed and drove him through the steel steps before pummeling him with a chair. Malone was double teamed by Witchmere and Pit Viper, ending in a head vise from Witchmere that caused him to pass out.
Rex Anarchy climbed back into the ring and unceremoniously kicked Killer Malone out of the ring. Armed with a microphone, Anarchy announced that the Lords of Chaos are taking over RFW. He acknowledged Witchmere as the Valkyrie Champion and then said that the Titan Championship is next in their sights. He challenged Jax Rivers to a match and added that failure to accept would be unwise.
Witchmere grabbed the microphone and called out Cate Stiles and Aurora Starkey. She labeled them both fools for thinking they have any chance of becoming Valkyrie Champion now that it is under control of the Lords of Chaos. Witchmere threatened both of them, saying that if they come after her for the title, they will suffer greatly. She offered them to look at Tracy Blood if they need any proof of her words.
Witchmere held up the Valkyrie Championship as Rex Anarchy and Pit Viper stood alongside her. They left the ring united.
The King Returns
After being absent since losing the Titan Championship, King Donovan returned to RFW. Surprisingly, Donovan was met with a fair amount of applause, though the crowd support ended quickly once he spoke. Donovan claimed that RFW has suffered without him around. He claimed that the lack of talent from the others on the roster has made RFW a sad shell of its former self. After taking in the jeers from the audience, he assured the fans that this will no longer be the case because he has returned and will bring RFW back to its former glory as it was when he was champion.
Donovan than turned his attention to the current Titan Champion, Jax Rivers. Donovan said RFW is only as strong as its champion and Jax Rivers has not been a good one. He said many have their sights set on the title but no one is tough enough to stand in his way. That statement prompted Koji Otaka to come down to the ring.
Otaka stood up to King Donovan, sizing the former champion up and showing his intention to fight and see who really is tougher. Donovan considered the situation but shook his head and started to turn away. The crowd booed. Otaka stood strong in the middle of the ring. As Donovan appeared to be walking away, he spun back around and blasted Otaka with kick to the gut and then clubbed him in the back with fists. Otaka refused to go down and stood up straight, trading blows with King Donovan. After staggering Koji Otaka, King Donovan ran off the ropes and went for a running boot but the Japanese superstar dodged and clotheslined the King over the ropes to the floor.
Koji Otaka yelled out and slapped his chest, psyching up the crowd. As Otaka’s music began to play, King Donovan looked up in the ring in shock. He left the ring to Otaka but before leaving the ringside area he took one look back with a small but sinister smile.
A Blood Feud Continues
After feuding for nearly all of Series 1, Shawn Roberts and Mark Blood continued their battle in a brutal main event. Shawn Roberts came down to the ring full of fire. He looked determined to put his foe in the rear view and move on. Mark Blood came out next and never took his eyes off of Roberts as he stepped into the ring. Everyone in the building could feel the tension between the wrestlers.
As the bell rang, Shawn Roberts was ready to lock up. Mark Blood kept a distance and seemed to be accessing the situation. When Blood went in to tie up, he faked Roberts out and nailed him above the eye with an elbow shot. Roberts stumbled backward and Blood went in for slow, methodical attack, primarily working Roberts neck with holds and double axe handles. The crowd cheered on Roberts, hoping to rally him to make a comeback but Blood refused to let him get any leverage. Blood covered for a pin after a nasty German suplex. Roberts kicked out but was slow to move. Blood continued his attack.
Things were looking bad for Shawn Roberts but he dug deep and reversed a headlock into a back suplex. Though it took him time to recover some strength, Roberts was able to capitalize and started an offense of his own. Roberts used some high flying moves off the ropes before using a neck breaker and slowing things down with slams and submissions. Blood wasn’t down for long, though, and powered out of a backbreaker submission. Blood tackled Roberts through the ropes and both men ended up outside the ring.
The battle continued on the outside. While the referee counted, Shawn Roberts and Mark Blood pummeled each other with fists, kicks, and clotheslines. Blood pulled Roberts into a ring post and then fished for a chair under the ring. He swung at Roberts who ducked, pulled the chair, and jabbed Blood in the ribs. With Blood doubled over, Roberts smacked the chair over his back twice, sending him to the floor. Roberts, realizing both men were about to be counted out, managed to drag Blood into the ring and slide under the ropes himself before the ten count.
Back in the ring, Mark Blood was down on the mat and Shawn Roberts saw the opportunity to finish him off. He climbed to the top turnbuckle and leapt toward Blood with a senton bomb.
Blood pulled his knees up, countering the attack. With Roberts down on the mat in pain, Blood picked him up and drove him to the mat with a tombstone piledriver. Blood covered for a pinfall victory.
After the referee awarded Mark Blood the match and raised his arm, Blood nudged the referee aside and began attack Shawn Roberts again. Blood tried for another tombstone piledriver but Roberts slipped free and started fighting back. The fight once again spilled to the outside where Roberts viciously whipped Blood into the steel barricade. He grabbed the chair that was used in the match and began smashing Blood with it as the crowd cheered. Roberts went to whip Blood into a ring post but Blood reversed the momentum and sent him through the steel steps. Roberts was slow to get up and it gave Blood time to pick up the steps and line up a follow up shot. As he ran in to attack, Roberts dropped and used a drop toe hold to trip Blood, sending him face first into the steps he was holding.
Shawn Roberts attempted to powerbomb Mark Blood on the announcer’s table to finish him off but Blood reversed it into a back body drop sending Roberts crashing through the table. Roberts was out cold in the mess of the table as Blood collapsed to the floor. Referees and medical staff rushed down to the ring to check on both wrestlers.
