The Fans Are The Focus Of The Rapid Fire Festival
Rapid Fire Wrestling hosted the first ever Rapid Fire Festival in a recreational park and made it open to the public. RFW fans were spread all over, taking advantage of walking trails, volleyball courts, the swimming pool, lake, and pavilions. They weren’t alone, however. Virtually all of the RFW wrestlers were in attendance as well. While many simply walked around and dropped in on excited fans, others got more involved.
Kami King and “Badlands” Bill Stanton each joined volleyball teams that some fans had put together. Stanton had a friendly rivalry with an opposing team member but found that his skills on the volleyball court pared in comparison to his fighting skills. King scored some big points for her team and admitted that she played the game in high school.
Annika, fresh off of competing in an MMA tournament in Brazil, spent most of the afternoon in the dunk tank. She sat above the pool cringing as fans tossed a ball in an attempt to drop her in. “They really want to dunk me today,” Annika remarked as she took a break and stood dripping on a patio. “Am I really so bad?”
Tracy Blood made an appearance as the guest lifeguard at the pool. Blood said she was enjoying hanging out with fans and taking in the warm sun. When asked about her return to the ring after suffering injuries in her last match, she offered the quote, “when the time is right.”
Jessie Vega’s new album released the same day as the Rapid Fire Festival and was selling copies of the album and signing autographs. At the end of the scheduled time for the autograph signing, Vega stood up and left, saying she had to go mentally prepare for her match later in the evening but thanked the fans, many of whom were still in line. The fans responded harshly.
Food services were a popular attraction for the fans but no vendor tent was as popular as the one run by Hardworkin’ Dave Smith and Vito DeFazio. The duo worked the barbecue stand and looked to be having a great time serving the crowds.
In a large grove surrounded by trees, the RFW wrestling ring was setup for action. As afternoon gave way to early evening, the fans began to gather behind the ring barricades, preparing for the night of action.

As the sun fell just below the tree line, the fans surrounding the ring burst into loud cheers as music began to play from speakers setup around the grove. Monica Stone came out to the ring and introduced RFW President, C.W. Sunderland. Sunderland traded his usual three-piece suit for a polo, golf shorts, and sneakers. Sunderland was thrilled as he jogged down to the ring, slapping hands with people at ringside. He stepped through the ropes and pumped up the crowd. Monica Stone handed him the microphone.
Sunderland thanked the audience for their applause but said today was about the fans and encouraged them to give themselves the applause. He sincerely thanked every RFW fan for the support. RFW wouldn’t exist without their enthusiasm and passion. He hoped everyone has been enjoying the Rapid Fire Festival and said it has been such a success, there will be more of them in the future. He hyped up the matches and said that the first one was about to begin. He thanked the fans once again and left the ring to cheers and chants of “RFW! RFW! RFW!”
Maria Estrella vs. Jessie Vega
Maria Estrella’s music began to play and she appeared to be energized by the audience. She slid under the ropes and climbed a turnbuckle to look out over the grove as the late day sun spilled over the audience. She took a moment to limber up before her opponent came to the ring.
Jessie Vega’s music began to play and the crowd booed loudly. While Estrella had come down to the ring from a small entrance setup at the base of the trees, Vega did not. Instead, a luxury car rolled through the grass and parked between the wrestler’s entrance and the aisleway. A man in a black suit stepped out of the passenger seat and opened the back door. Jessie Vega emerged from the car with Jade behind her. Another man in a suit stepped out of the car as well and the ladies were escorted to the ring by them. They blocked the fans from touching Vega. As Vega stepped through the ropes, a photographer took pictures of her as she posed in the center of the ring. Vega removed her sunglasses and looked around at the crowd. The fans booed as she blew them a kiss.
When the bell rang, both women stood face to face. They exchanged some inaudible words before Jessie Vega slapped Maria Estrella across the face. Estrella recoiled and then looked back at Vega, enraged. Vega, realizing what she had done, went to flee from the ring but Estrella grabbed her by the hair and dragged her back to strong approval from the audience. Estrella began a series of suplexes that dizzied Vega. Estrella continued with a barrage of powerful offense that provided Vega little room to defend herself. After a northern lights suplex that bounced her near the ropes, Vega rolled out to escape.
Maria Estrella followed Jessie Vega outside the ring but Jade stood between them and told Estrella to back off. Estrella pushed Jade backward and she tumbled over Vega, who was on her hands and knees trying to stand up. Estrella grabbed Vega by the hair and pulled her up. Vega pleaded with Estrella to let her go. Instead, Estrella picked her up in a fireman’s carry and dumped her back into the ring.
Back in the ring, Maria Estrella continued her attack until Jessie Vega ducked a running clothesline, responded with a drop kick, and then began to build an offense of her own. Focusing on Estrella’s right arm, Vega was vicious in her attacks. She hooked the arm around the top rope and yanked on it. She body slammed Estrella with her arm behind her back. She stomped on Estrella’s wrist. Estrella appeared to be in a great deal of pain.
Vega used the double wrist lock on Estrella and looked to really inflict damage. She held on tight and torqued the arm without remorse. Estrella managed to wrap her feet around the bottom ring rope to cause the referee to break the hold. The referee pushed Vega back to check on Estrella, who was curled up clutching her arm on the mat. After a tense few moments, Estrella tested her arm and assured the referee she was ok. The match continued.
Vega continued to focus on Estrella’s damaged arm but got too cocky, leaving an opportunity for Estrella to block another wrist lock attempt and counter with a suplex. Though the move did as much damage to her as it did Vega, Estrella was able to use this opening to start to make a comeback. Estrella pushed herself through the obvious pain she was in to hoist Vega up and crushed her down to the mat with a running powerslam. Estrella covered and just before the referee counted to three, Jade grabbed him by the ankle and pulled him out. The referee was furious and reprimanded Jade. Jade made a futile attempt at justifying her actions but the referee didn’t want to hear it. He banished Jade from ringside and the crowd cheered with approval. Jade was escorted to the back by another referee and the match continued.
Jessie Vega recovered during Jade’s sacrifice and went after Maria Estrella. Estrella fought back and both women ended up on the mat with a double clothesline. Vega recovered first and saw an opportunity to finish off her former friend. As Vega climbed the turnbuckle for a frogsplash, Estrella got to her feet. Vega changed her plans and went for a top rope cross body block instead. Estrella saw Vega coming and countered the dive into a powerslam. Estrella quickly covered for a pin and picked up a victory.
Maria Estrella looked to be in pain but smiled as she was declared the winner. She walked around in the ring and celebrated her hard fought victory.
Masters of Wrestling Wilderness Survival Match
In a unique spin on the earliest matches of Masters of Wrestling, the Wilderness Survival Match is designed to let the competitors go anywhere and use anything in the park to secure a “falls count anywhere” victory. Mark Blood came down to the ring first, followed by Killer Malone. Both men argued with each other and looked ready to come to blows before the match could even begin. Their argument stopped when Cole Arcane’s music began to play and he came to the ring with the audience firmly behind him. Arcane stepped through the ropes and climbed a turnbuckle to pose for the crowd. Killer Malone wanted to get right to it and drilled Arcane’s lower back with a double axe handle. Arcane fell off the turnbuckle just as Malone was back suplexed by Mark Blood. The referee looked to be in shock before calling for the bell to start the match.
Mark Blood and Cole Arcane exchanged punches. Arcane got the upper hand and hit Blood with a punch that made him stumble backward. Arcane took one step forward and was blindsided by a knockout punch from Killer Malone. Arcane fell to the mat but before Malone could capitalize, Blood grabbed him and side suplexed him to the mat. Blood quickly pinned Arcane but only got a two count. Malone grabbed Blood from behind and threw him off the ropes. Malone tossed Blood with a back body drop. Arcane was on his feet at this point and grabbed Malone from behind. He threw Malone through the ropes to the floor. Arcane yelled out to the crowd that it was time to go for a tour around the park. The crowd cheered enthusiastically.
Outside the ring, Cole Arcane and Killer Malone slugged it out on their way up the aisle. As they reached the end, and started wandering away from the barricades and into the open grove, the crowd started to follow them. Malone body slammed Arcane on the grass. As Malone leaned in to pick him up, Arcane found a soft spot in the ground, picked up a chunk of the wet earth, and slapped it into Malone’s face.
Killer Malone was blinded long enough for Cole Arcane to get up and start really driving an offense. He dragged Malone to the tree line and dragged Malone’s face across tree bark. After
Irish whipping Malone into a tangle of thorny weeds, Mark Blood came running and blasted Arcane with a clothesline. Blood took the match in another direction and dragged Arcane toward a nearby path in the woods. Blood picked up a large branch and used it like a kendo stick, smacking it across Arcane’s back. Arcane stumbled further down the path as he tried to avoid Blood.
Blood tossed the branch toward Arcane but it missed. Arcane went to pick it up but Blood grabbed him and slammed him into the dirt with a gutwrench suplex. Blood covered for a pin and the referee slid into position but the pin was broken up by Killer Malone, who had been trailing his opponents down the path along with the crowd.
Killer Malone and Mark Blood continued down the path, which began to open up at the top of a hill with a picnic table, charcoal grill, and large garbage can. The bottom of the hill was a lake shoreline. Blood kicked Malone in the gut and threw him into the picnic table. Malone fell into the grass and held his midsection in pain. Blood walked over to the charcoal grill and pulled the heavy cooking grate out of it. He walked over toward Malone and prepared to slam it down on him. Just as he raised the grate to face level, Cole Arcane ran across the top of the picnic table and drop kicked the grate, which smashed into Blood’s face. Blood fell to the ground and looked to be knocked out cold.
Cole Arcane covered Mark Blood for a pin but Killer Malone broke it up. Arcane and Malone traded punches. Malone won the exchange and went for a knockout punch but Arcane ducked it, grabbed Malone and whipped him into the garbage can. Malone knocked the can over as he soared over the top of it. Arcane looked at Malone, then to the garbage can, then to the fans who were gathered around. They had the same idea he did and encouraged Arcane to stuff Malone into the garbage can. The can, which was actually a large plastic barrel, was able to fit Malone down to his knees. Malone yelled and kicked, trying to free himself of his tight confines. Arcane started rolling the barrel down the hill. It picked up momentum as it rolled and bounced toward the water. As the barrel hit the water, it came to a stop and Malone pushed himself out. Dizzy, and unaware of his surroundings, Malone swung a wild punch at thin air. He spun around and tumbled face first into the water.
Back at the top of the hill, Cole Arcane shifted his attention to Mark Blood, who was just getting to his feet. Arcane tried to get Blood into a running bulldog but it was blocked. Both men fought toward the tree line again. Blood slammed Arcane’s back against several trees. During one impact, a tree shifted out of the ground and Blood looked down at the roots. He then returned his attention to Arcane, slamming his head against the tree. Arcane stumbled back and Blood clotheslined him from behind.
With Arcane on the ground, Blood took another look at the tree and stepped around to the other side of it. He pushed hard against the trunk of the tree and the roots loosened. He gave it one more big push and the old dead tree fell down on Cole Arcane, pinning him to the ground. Arcane tried to push it off but Blood dove on top of Arcane’s head and chest, doing his best to cover for a pin. The referee counted to three and Mark Blood was awarded the victor in the Masters of Wrestling Wilderness Survival Match.
Mark Blood triumphantly walked away from the carnage as the referee and a few fans helped free Cole Arcane from the tree. Arcane appeared to be ok. Down at the lake, Killer Malone was laying on the shoreline, staring up at the sky as the world spun around him.
Koji Otaka vs. King Donovan
Special Enforcer Max Destruction
After a short break to allow fans to travel back to the ringside area, Max Destruction’s music began to play and he came out to cheers. Stepping into the ring, he was announced as the Special Enforcer for the match and looked around the audience with his fists raised.
Koji Otaka made his way down to the ring next. He yelled and slapped his chest before walking up the steps and through the ropes. Otaka stood in the ring and focused on the aisle where King Donovan would be emerging from.
King Donovan’s music began to play and several men and women in regal uniforms stood at the sides of the aisle. Two more uniformed men began to roll out a red carpet over the grass and down to the ring. King Donovan stepped onto the red carpet and walked down to the ring with a cape over his shoulders. Through his sunglasses, he stared straight ahead at Otaka. King Donovan stepped through the ropes and stood in the center of the ring as his servants removed the cape. He removed his sunglasses and looked around at the audience in the setting sun. Donovan looked at Otaka and Max Destruction and muttered something before taking a corner.
The bell rang as Max Destruction stepped outside the ring to observe the match that had just begun. King Donovan and Koji Otaka stood in the center of the ring and argued inaudibly to the energetic crowd. They locked up and Donovan quickly got the upper hand on Otaka. In the opening minutes of the match, Donovan slowly and methodically wore down Otaka with takedowns, holds, and slams. A blocked attempt at a vertical suplex was all that Otaka needed to get some offense going.
Otaka leveled Donovan with a blast of power moves. After a sidewalk slam, King Donovan rolled outside the ring for a breather. Donovan took notice of Max Destruction studying him and got in the legend’s face. Max directed Donovan to return to the ring but the former RFW Champion refused and continued to mouth off. With Donovan not paying attention to the match, Koji Otaka rolled out of the ring, grabbed him from behind, and suplexed him down onto the ground.
King Donovan held the back of his head as he tried to get up but Koji Otaka was quick to strike, picking up Donovan and ramming him into a ringpost. Donovan stumbled backward. As Otaka grabbed Donovan by the back of the head to roll him back into the ring, Donovan backkicked Otaka squarely in the crotch. Although the referee didn’t get a good view of it, Max Destruction did. Max pushed King Donovan back and berated him for the illegal move.
Donovan, not pleased with Max’s meddling, shoved him away. Max’s back slammed against the ring apron. Instead of reacting to the collision, Max bounced off the edge of the ring like it was a ring rope and ran at Donovan full speed, leveling him with a clothesline. The crowd blew up into cheers as Max Destruction looked down at King Donovan, who lay on the grass below the ring with a look of pain and shock.
Max Destruction pulled up King Donovan and rolled him into the ring. He then grabbed Koji Otaka and shoved him in as well. Max slammed his hands on the ring apron and watched as the match continued. Although slow, both men got to their feet and started trading punches.
King Donovan started looking shaky and Otaka nailed a punch that dropped him to the mat.
Otaka used a dragon suplex and covered for a pin but Donovan kicked out. Otaka continued on the attack but Donovan found a second wind and started fighting back.
After some back and forth, King Donovan tried for a full nelson slam but Otaka threw his head back and bashed him in the jaw. Donovan fell back into a turnbuckle. Although he was standing, he appeared to be dazed. Otaka ran in for a body splash in the corner. Donovan fell, Otaka covered for a pin, but Donovan kicked out. Otaka tried again for a dragon suplex but Donovan broke his hold and slipped away. Otaka came at Donovan but he got caught with a kick to the gut. After body slamming Otaka, Donovan waited for him to get his feet and ran up from behind. Donovan quickly locked Otaka’s arms in a full nelson and slammed him to the mat. Donovan covered for a pin, picked up the three count, and won the match.
King Donovan stood tall in the ring but refused to let the referee raise his hand. He pointed to Max Destruction and demanded he do it. Max looked annoyed but climbed into the ring and raised King Donovan’s hand. Max offered a handshake out of respect for the hard fought victory but Donovan slapped it away and both men had a long stare down before King Donovan walked away as the crowd booed him.
Titan Championship Match
Jax Rivers vs. Rex Anarchy (c)
The sun sank below the horizon as nightfall arrived. The crowd were entertaining themselves with various chants until Jax Rivers music began to play and he came down toward the ring looking to regain the RFW Titan Championship.
The Lords of Chaos’ music began to play and Rex Anarchy came down to the ring with the Titan Championship belt around his waist. He took his time before stepping through the ropes, jawing with some fans at ringside and making his challenger wait for him. When Anarchy did step into the ring, he stood in the middle, removed the belt, and held it high above his head with a look of confidence.
After being handed the belt, the referee showed it to Jax Rivers, held it up for the crowd, and passed it to the time keeper. A moment later, the bell rang, and the Titan Championship was in play.
Rex Anarchy won the initial tie up in the middle of the ring and tried to start some offense but Jax Rivers refused to go on the defensive. After being whipped into the ropes, Rivers rebounded with a drop kick, followed by another drop kick, and an arm drag that left Anarchy looked up at the former champion in shock. It was obvious then that Jax Rivers was determined to regain the Titan Championship.
Rivers kept his attack strong against Anarchy. After a snap suplex, Rivers grabbed Anarchy and threw him off the ropes, catching him on the return with a hurricanrana. Rivers stood up, balled up his fists and yelled out, getting the audience hyped up. Rivers wore down Anarchy, threw him off the ropes again, and attempted a flap jack. Anarchy blocked the attempt, however, pushed off, and ran into Rivers with a clothesline that sent both men to the mat.
Though slow to stand, both men got to their feet using the ropes before locking up again. Rex Anarchy overpowered Jax Rivers and focused his attack on Rivers’ back. Anarchy covered for a pin after a swinging neck breaker but Rivers kicked out. Anarchy tried for a fisherman buster but Rivers slipped out and started punching him. Anarchy tried to block the punches as he retreated backward until his back hit the ropes. The referee directed Rivers to back off, which he did slowly. As he was backing up, Anarchy kicked him in the stomach and began pounding on his back. After a series of slams, Anarchy succeeded in driving Rivers down with a fisherman buster. Anarchy covered for the victory but Rivers kicked out. The audience gasped in surprise as Jax Rivers kept himself in the match.
Rex Anarchy slammed his palms on the mat and eyed up his opponent. With Jax Rivers slow to get up, Anarchy picked him up and slammed him back down to the mat. Anarchy yelled at Rivers to stay down before driving knees into his back. Anarchy tried for a third fisherman buster but Rivers shifted his weight, rolling Anarchy over for a small package pin. Anarchy managed to kick out but the crowd cheered loudly in support of Jax Rivers. He fed off the crowd, digging deep and bringing new offense against Anarchy.
Jax Rivers tried for another flapjack but Rex Anarchy rolled to avoid it, popped up, and quickly wrapped Rivers up for a fisherman suplex. Anarchy covered but this time grabbed a handful of Rivers’ tights for leverage. The referee counted to three and Rex Anarchy retained the RFW Titan Championship.
After having his arm raised and handed the RFW Titan Championship belt, Rex Anarchy motioned for a microphone. He told the booing audience that they may not like it but The Lords of Chaos are running RFW. He said he is the undisputed Titan Champion and Witchmere is about to prove that she is the undisputed Valkyrie Champion. He then introduced Witchmere, who appeared at the end of the aisle and started making her way to the ring. She stepped through the ropes, ran her hands through her bleached white hair, and lifted the Valkyrie Championship title over her head. Anarchy stood behind her and clapped in approval; a sharp contrast to the overwhelming jeers from those in attendance.
The Lords of Chaos’ music was cut off by Cate Stiles’ music and the crowd exploded into cheers. Stiles appeared started to make her way down the aisle. When she got halfway down, Pit Viper leaped over the barricade from the crowd. He tried to attack Stiles but she saw the move coming, hip tossed him onto the grass, and started slugging him in the face. The crowd cheered as Stiles grabbed Pit Viper’s boot, held it for a moment, and then quickly tore at it in a vicious ankle lock. Pit Viper slapped his hands into the ground as if he was trying to tap out. Rex Anarchy and Witchmere looked furious and were about to come to their LoC teammate’s aid but Stiles shoved Pit Viper’s leg away from her, shook her finger at them, and marched down to the ring. She slid under the ropes and stood across the ring from Rex Anarchy and Witchmere as they scolded her. Stiles appeared unfazed. Anarchy whispered something to Witchmere and cautiously left the ring. Anarchy checked on Pit Viper and the two retreated away from the ringside area.
Back in the ring, Witchmere handed the Valkyrie Championship belt to the referee. He showed it to Cate Stiles, showed it to the audience, and handed it off. Both women took their corners until he bell rang before meeting in the center of the ring for a staredown.
Valkyrie Championship Match
Cate Stiles vs. Witchmere (c)
Witchmere had an obvious height advantage over Cate Stiles but it didn’t seem to matter to the challenger. Stiles looked confident as she trash talked Witchmere. After they both took a step back, they charged back in for a tie up in center of the ring. Witchmere overpowered Stiles and began a vicious attack on her challenger’s head and neck. Witchmere used headlocks to wrench Stiles’ neck, elbow strikes to the head, and a DDT. Stiles tried to turn things around but Witchmere continued a merciless assault. After a chokeslam, Witchmere covered Stiles for a pin but only got a two count.
Cate Stiles was on the receiving end of a rough clothesline near the ropes, causing her head to snap against the bottom rope. As Stiles curled up on the mat, the referee checked on her.
Witchmere hovered near her and adjusted the black tape on her hands. Not wanting to wait any longer, Witchmere pulled Stiles off the mat by the hair and applied the head vise submission but with Stiles so close to the ropes, she easily planted her foot on the ropes, forcing the referee to break the hold.
Witchmere grabbed Stiles and dragged her to the middle of the ring. She tried for a second head vise but Stiles blocked the attempt, jammed a knee into Witchmere and started blasting her with fists. With Witchmere stunned, Stiles began an explosive series of suplexes. Stiles began focusing her attacks on Witchmere’s leg, using submissions and driving knees into the calf. Witchmere was weak on her feet and was unable to avoid Stiles clipping her out from the knees. Stiles looked ready to go for the ankle lock but Witchmere slid across the mat and rolled out of the ring.
Witchmere tried to walk off damage to her leg but Cate Stiles refused to give her a rest, diving through the ropes and onto Witchmere on the outside. Stiles suplexed Witchmere, sending the champion’s legs slamming against the steel ring steps. Witchmere tried to drag herself away but Stiles pulled a steel chair out from under the ring and slapped it across her back. After a second shot to Witchmere’s shoulder, Stiles picked up the champion and rolled her into the ring.
With the action returning to the ring and the audience firmly behind Cate Stiles, Witchmere backed herself into a corner and grabbed the ropes above her. Stiles violently grabbed Witchmere’s ankles, forcing her up off the mat and slamming on her back. Stiles continued to attack Witchmere’s leg. After a back suplex, Stiles looked down at Witchmere, grabbed her leg, and set in the ankle lock. Witchmere screamed and clawed at the mat as the referee got laid down on the mat next to her, asking if she was giving up. Suddenly, Rex Anarchy returned. He slid into the ring, grabbed Cate Stiles, and threw her off of Witchmere. The referee called for the bell.
Cate Stiles was declared the winner via disqualification but her night didn’t end there. Stiles charged at Rex Anarchy and went to slug him in the face. Anarchy dodged the punch and shoved Stiles to the mat. Witchmere had recovered enough to climb on top of Stiles and began slugging her with punches. The audience booed as Anarchy held Stiles while Witchmere continued with blows to the midsection and head. The crowd began to throw garbage into the ring after Witchmere body slammed Stiles to the mat.
Anarchy placed Stiles into a corner and Witchmere continued the beat down. The crowd started to cheer as Jax Rivers stormed the ring and started battling Anarchy. Rivers and Stiles started fighting off the Lords of Chaos until Pit Viper returned. He took out Rivers from behind with a backstabber and then helped Witchmere subdue Stiles again.
More garbage was thrown while the Lords of Chaos dominated the ring. When all looked hopeless for Cate Stiles and Jax Rivers, the crowd cheered once again as Tracy Blood ran down to the ring, diving under the bottom rope and evening the odds once again. Pit Viper barely had time to react as Blood nailed him with a high head kick that knocked him out cold. Rex Anarchy ducked a high head kick but was distracted long enough for Rivers to spin him around and drive him to the mat with a flapjack. Stiles duked it out with Witchmere in the corner before Irish Whipping her toward Blood, who aimed and hit another head kick, sending Witchmere tumbling out of the ring to the ground below. Rivers tossed Anarchy over the top rope as Stiles and Blood did the same to Pit Viper.
The Lords of Chaos regrouped and made their way back up the aisle, looking back at Jax Rivers, Cate Stiles, and Tracy Blood as they stood tall in the center of the ring. Rex Anarchy and Witchmere held up their titles, showing everyone that while they may have been shown up, they were still on top of RFW. Back in the ring, Rivers, Stiles, and Blood exchanged fist bumps and stood ready to defend the ring until the Lords of Chaos left ringside.
