MoW rolls on with a show in Allentown, PA.
The show was jam packed with action and it started with ring veteran Killer Malone taking on a young Burton Sykes Jr. Sykes showed some fire early on and impressed with some well-applied submission holds and complicated chain wrestling. Malone was able to find a way to break that chain, however, and dominated the rest of the match, knocking Sykes out cold with a Knockout Punch.
MoW legend Mike Blood came down to the ring to great applause as he served as MoW’s first Special Guest Host. Blood thanked the fans for their enthusiasm and revved everyone up by starting an “MoW!” chant. He said that seeing MoW return is like being in a dream. He missed MoW and is glad fans old and new can enjoy it. Blood said he has a special job to do and that is address the MoW Championship. When MoW closed its doors in 1997, Snarl was the champion. Since that day, the wrestling world has not seen or heard from Snarl again. Blood said that he does not know if Snarl is watching, but he has a message for him. The MoW Championship Committee is offering a one-time opportunity for Snarl to appear at the next show and, if willing, continue his reign by being awarded the MoW Championship once again. Blood said the invitation is extended, looks forward to watching the next show, and thanked the fans once again for their passion and support.
Mysterie and Red Widow continued the show with a high flying, fast moving match. Both women dazzled with high risk moves, trying to one up each other. Mysterie took a fall off the top rope to the floor and appeared to jam her knee. Red Widow dove to the outside to capitalize. Red Widow used the announce table for leverage and did a moonsault off of it onto Mysterie. The action returned to the ring where Red Widow tried to win the match but Mysterie refused to stay down. Mysterie picked up a pinfall victory after a corkscrew splash.
Larry Loudmouth interviewed Mysterie following the match. Mysterie said she sees MoW as a place of opportunity and is determined to make it to the top. Aurora Starkey comes out and cuts her off. Starkey said Mysterie and all the other women in MoW would have to settle for being second best because she is the best in the world. Mysterie suggested Starkey prove it and challenged her to a match.
The bell rang and Mysterie locked up in the middle of the ring with Aurora Starkey. Mysterie fought hard, hit hard, and kept Starkey reeling. Starkey escaped the ring and started to back up the entrance ramp. Mysterie pursued and that was exactly what Starkey wanted. Starkey knocked Mysterie down with a big boot and then proceeded to gorilla press slam her on the hard floor. Starkey brought Mysterie back into the ring and continued the punishment. Mysterie tried to make a final comeback but one powerbomb later and Mysterie was down for the count. Starkey picked up another win and stood tall as she celebrated in the center of the ring.
The previous show ended with Jax Rivers assaulting Mark Blood in an act of poor sportsmanship. This time, Rivers came down to the ring to explain his actions. He noted his accomplishments; a great ambassador for wrestling everywhere he goes, two time world champion, a main attraction no matter what ring he steps into. But he stepped into MoW and was immediately overshadowed by the Blood family. He expressed frustration at not even being given the chance to speak prior to his match with Mark Blood. He was just trotted out to the ring while Mark Blood got the spotlight. Rivers said MoW has had a long history with the Blood family but it’s a new generation and he is going to see to it that the new era of MoW isn’t the Blood family show. Rivers laid out a challenge for a rematch with Mark Blood.
Mark Blood came out from backstage and he and Jax Rivers slugged it out in the middle of the ring immediately. The action spilled to the outside where both men continued to brawl until Rivers kicked Blood in the groin and then nailed him with a flapjack across the ring barracade. Blood appeared to be knocked out and the crowd booed Rivers as he stared out at the crowd, sneered, and left.
“Local Legend” Danny Miller was next to make an appearance. He spoke to the crowd about how great he was and how lucky Allentown is to have him as their hometown hero. The crowd did not buy it and showed their rejection rather loudly. Then came Miller’s opponent, “Big” Rus Samson. Samson steamrolled over Miller as soon as the bell rang. Miller barely got in any offense while Samson used his size and strength to slam Miller all around the ring. Samson used the torture rack to force Miller into submission.
The main event featured Lucia Mendez and Maria Estrella against Shannon Worth and Meghan DeWitt in tag team action. The team of Worth and DeWitt was aggressive throughout the match and worked well as a team as they cut Mendez off from Estrella. Mendez managed to dig herself out of trouble and tagged in Estrella who cleared the ring and pumped up the crowd. Estrella and Mendez built momentum and DeWitt was pinned following a running powerslam by Estrella. Maria Estrella and Lucia Mendez celebrated their victory as the show ended.
