MoW #008 Results

Masters of Wrestling brought a star-studded show to Atlanta, GA. All champions were in action and two of the titles were defended!

The show opened with Claudia Winter and Andre Jordan. Winter addressed the excited crowd as well as the wrestlers backstage when she proclaimed that Jordan is the rising star in MoW and will be the MoW Champion that carries the promotion to the next level. This statement brought out the current MoW Champion, Snarl, who told Jordan to get ready to prove it.

Andre Jordan fought Snarl in non-title competition. Snarl wowed the audience with his explosive, powerful assault on Jordan. Jordan had a small window of opportunity to stop the attack and succeeded, slowing the match down and wearing down the MoW Champion with holds. Snarl came back strong and crushed Jordan with a powerbomb. Jordan kicked out but was slow to move. As the referee checked on him, Snarl was distracted by Claudia Winter climbing up on the ring apron. Snarl went to push Winter off but did not notice that she had removed her high heel. Winter spiked Snarl in the eye, giving Jordan an opportunity for a bridging suplex and pinned the champion. Jordan slid out the ring and celebrated with Claudia Winter on the upset victory. Snarl looked furious as he sat in the ring in disbelief.

The MoW Team Championship was defended when The Navigators competed against the champions, The Bomb Squad. The crowd rallied behind The Navigators as they tried to get the best of the defending champions. The Bomb Squad took pride in roughhousing Aidan North, cutting him off from Pete Arrow. North dodged a Lariat and tagged in Arrow, who cleaned house. All four men brawled in the ring until the referee got control again. After some back and forth, Arrow powerbombed Bobby Bombay to the mat. North neutralized Terry Bombay as Arrow went for the pin and won the match. The Navigators became the new MoW Team Champions!

Speaking of tag teams, Marty Anderson and Killer Malone came down to the ring to speak with Larry Loudmouth. Anderson said they just watched The Navigators win the titles that he believes should be around his and Malone’s waists. Malone made it clear they wanted a shot at the MoW Team Championships. Cro-Magnum and John Austin Baker came down to the ring. They were not done with Anderson and Malone and challenged them to a tornado team elimination match!

The match was more of a brawl with all four men throwing going to war inside and out of the ring. During a slugfest between Cro-Magnum and Killer Malone, Cro-Magnum knocked out Malone with a Jurassic Punch but was immediately floored by a spinebuster by Marty Anderson and pinned. Baker fought off both of his opponents as best he could but was caught by a Killer Punch. Malone pinned Baker for the win.

Mark Blood and Jax Rivers met in singles action in a highly competitive match. Blood had the crowd behind him as he built momentum, but Rivers turned the whole match around with a Riptide flapjack out of nowhere. Rivers went for a pin that Blood kicked out of but Rivers was able to keep ahead of Blood. Blood did make a late match comeback but Rivers surprised Blood with a small package to win the match. After the bell, Cate Stiles entered the ring to celebrate with her husband. Rivers and Stiles put the boots to the fallen Mark Blood until Tracy Blood stormed the ring and evened the odds in a post-match brawl.

The main event was a MoW Championship match where Maria Estrella defended her newly won title against Aurora Starkey. Starkey looked impressive and determined in her fight to win the MoW Championship. Estrella, likewise, fought hard to defend her title. The match was full of power moves, but Starkey slowed the pace with some painful submissions on the champion. Estrella rallied strong against Starkey and slammed her hard to the mat with a running powerslam. The lights went out just after impact. When the lights came back on, Estrella found herself staring into the eyes of Witchmere, the dark queen of wrestling. The debuting Witchmere struck Estrella hard and slammed her to the mat. Witchmere then turned her attention to the recovering Starkey and squeezed her with a Head Vise. The referee called off the match due to the interference. Witchmere used another Head Vise on Estrella and then stood over both women with her fist raised high in the air.
