Masters of Wrestling arrives in Hershey, PA for an unpredictable evening with “Open Fight Night,” the first supershow of the new era!
The night started out hot with Killer Malone and Marty Anderson coming out to the ring to challenge The Navigators to a Tornado Match for the MoW Team Championship. The defending champions gladly accepted the challenge and the four men set the pace for the evening with a high energy match. Aidan North and Marty Anderson battled in the ring while Pete Arrow and Killer Malone brawled on the outside. Arrow suplexed Malone onto a table and North dove over the ropes for a senton on top of Malone, shattering the table. Back in the ring, Anderson got a near fall on Arrow, but the champion recovered, used a muscle buster on Anderson, and covered for the win. The Navigators celebrated in the ring to a big audience reaction.
“Local Legend” Danny Miller entered the ring and stated that he wanted to bring the MoW Championship home to Hershey, which drew lots of boos. Cole Arcane interrupted and said he found a big barrel backstage that Miller would fit in perfectly. Arcane challenged Miller to an old school MoW Barrel Match! The match was a fight that had the raucous audience firmly behind Arcane, who pounded on Miller from ring post to ring post. Arcane threw Miller over the ropes and attempted to stuff him into the barrel but Miller fought back. The comeback was short lived, and Miller was dunked in the barrel. Arcane picked up the lid and attempted to seal the barrel but was attacked from behind by Dr. Insidious. Insidious slammed Arcane violently into a ring post and beat him mercilessly with the barrel lid. Insidious pulled Miller out of the barrel, threw Arcane into it, and slammed the lid. A confused “Local Legend” Danny Miller was awarded the victory. Miller celebrated with Dr. Insidious who quickly turned on Miller and beat him up.
MoW Legend Cro-Magnum came down to the ring and addressed the crowd. He said that he has been fortunate enough to have a great career and was honored to be able to compete in the MoW ring again. He knows he is not the competitor he used to be, however, and announced that he was retiring. But before saying goodbye, he wanted to have one more match and asked his friend, John Austin Baker, to wrestle him in one final match. Baker came down to the ring, shook Cro-Magnum’s hand, and accepted. Despite their friendship, both men gave it their all, hitting hard, and not pulling back. Cro-Magnum was eager to win one final match. Baker, on the other hand, was not willing to dishonor Cro-Magnum by going easy on him. The match favored each man at various times, but it was John Austin Baker that won the match with a pin. After the match, Baker raised Cro-Magnum’s arm, hugged him, and left the ring where Cro-Magnum took in the emotion from the audience one last time.
Witchmere stepped into the ring and promptly challenged MoW Champion Maria Estrella for the title. Estrella eagerly accepted the match. It was a battle of two powerhouses of the women’s division. Estrella showed why she was the MoW Champion by wrestling with confidence and staying one step ahead of Witchmere. The tables turned, however, when Witchmere dodged a spear into the corner and Estrella’s shoulder hit the ring post. Witchmere brutally attacked the injured shoulder, pounding on Estrella’s arm and trying to pull it from the socket. The champion dug deep and made a comeback, barely defeating Witchmere with a schoolboy pin.
Maria Estrella celebrated her win but the abuse to her shoulder was evident. As she took in the crowd applause, her music was cut off and Aurora Starkey came down to the ring. Starkey said she promised not the overlooked ever again. Starkey challenged Estrella to a title match and egged her on by suggesting that maybe the champion is not a fighting champion because of a little hurt shoulder. Estrella said she will slap the smug face right off Starkey’s head and accepted the match. This was the champion’s downfall, however, because despite a surprisingly strong offense, it was Aurora Starkey who took advantage of the tired and wounded champion, slamming Estrella with a powerbomb and pinning her. Aurora Starkey walked into Open Fight Night with a cunning plan and walked out as the MoW Champion.
A steel cage was constructed around the ring to setup the next match. Mark Blood and Tracy Blood stepped into the cage to do battle with Jax Rivers and Cate Stiles. This Tornado style match was fueled by the animosity that both teams had for one another. Cate Stiles and Tracy Blood squared off as Jax Rivers and Mark Blood did the same, but it did not take long before things blended together. Tracy cracked Rivers in the head with a kick that sent him to the mat. Stiles sent Mark over the ropes and then dove into him as he stood against the cage wall. Tracy’s head was bleeding from a hard throw against a cage wall. Rivers’ back was scratched apart when he was dragged across a cage wall by Mark. Tracy back body dropped Stiles, who was caught by Rivers and promptly drop kicked by Mark. The Blood siblings were firmly in control as the war waged on. Stiles climbed a turnbuckle and went to dive off but was kicked in the shin by Tracy and shoved backward. A metal pipe securing the corner of the ring popped loose. The Bloods double teamed Jax Rivers and did not notice Cate Stiles pulled the pipe loose. She climbed through the ropes and brutalized both Mark and Tracy with the pipe. With the tides turned, it was Stiles and Rivers who looked to have victory in their sight. But then, Kami King came down to the ring with a crutch in her hand. King approached the broken corner of the steel cage and slid her crutch in toward a crawling Tracy Blood. Before Tracy could grab it, Stiles snatched the crutch away. Stiles jabbed the crutch into Mark’s throat, beat him with the crutch until it broke. Rivers slammed Mark Blood with a flapjack and Stiles covered him for a pinfall victory. Following the match, Cate Stiles and Jax Rivers gloated before leaving the ring. As they walked away from the cage, Stiles saw King sitting down against the ring apron, distraught that she cost her friends the match. Stiles laughed at her.
Larry Loudmouth stepped into the ring and thanked the fans for coming but was cut off by Claudia Winter who demanded a match for her client, Andre Jordan. Winter challenged Snarl to put his MoW Championship on the line against Jordan. Snarl walked down to the ring and gladly accepted the match. Snarl grinned when the bell rang and showed his aggression immediately. Jordan was manhandled in the ring like a rag doll. He may have earned the respect of many, however, when he kept getting up, and then fought back with a strong offense of his own. Winter distracted the referee, allowing Jordan to hit Snarl with a low blow, but even after a snap German suplex, Snarl kicked out of a pin. Jordan tried to put the champion away and attempted a belly to belly suplex but Snarl held his feet to the mat, powerbombed Jordan, and defended his title with a pinfall victory. Snarl celebrated his win, though he did look like he was in a good fight.
Snarl began to step through the ropes and some unfamiliar music began to play. Curious, Snarl stopped in his tracks and looked toward the arena entrance. After a long moment of anticipation, the crowd burst into a combination of shock and applause. Wrestling megastar, Johnny Young, stepped into MoW to confront its champion. Snarl stood tall as Young, with microphone in hand, stood face to face with him. Young said he just signed with MoW and was there for one reason. Young wanted the MoW Championship. Snarl raised the title belt high in the air and said he is ready for a fight any time. Young stared down Snarl and then stepped back. Young said he is coming for Snarl, but he wants the champion at 100%, so he had better be ready. Young tossed the microphone and slowly left the ring to the champion.
