Masters of Wrestling once again returned to Scranton, Pa for a night of wrestling action!
John Austin Baker competed against Oleg Azarov in singles action. Azarov put up a good fight against Baker and the match had many high impact moments. Baker was able to pin Azarov for the victory and give the fans an exciting opening bout. After the match, Terry Bombay appeared ringside and stepped into the ring. He said he was impressed with Baker’s ability and since his brother, Bobby Bombay, was out with an injury, he could use a partner like Baker. Bombay told Baker he has a tag match lined up at the next show and hopes Baker will join him.
Larry Loudmouth welcomed Maria Estrella to ringside. He asked Estrella about her thoughts on MoW Champion Aurora Starkey’s show of disrespect. Estrella said she was not surprised but was hoping for a better attitude from the champion. She said that winning the MoW Championship meant the world to her and validated her career. Estrella knows she can win it back and is ready for the opportunity to compete for it again. Claudia Winter interrupted with Andre Jordan by her side. Winter praised Estrella’s wrestling skill but said she needed help getting more opportunities. Winter offered her services to Estrella, promising she can make that rematch happen much faster. Estrella begins to decline but Jordan politely touched her shoulder, leaned in, and whispered something to her. Jordan stepped back, told Estrella to think about her options, and then left with Winter. Estrella was left ringside watching them.
Larry Loudmouth stayed ringside and invited Dr. Insidious to join him. Insidious showed up and Loudmouth questioned his motives since coming to MoW. Instead of speaking, Dr. Insidious attacked Loudmouth! Cole Arcane rushed down to ringside and brawled with Insidious. Insidious escaped and Arcane checked on Loudmouth, who appeared to be ok.
Cate Stiles climbed into the ring with a microphone. She recalled everyone to the events of “Open Fight Night” when Kami King tried to help her friends, the Blood siblings, by sliding a crutch into the steel cage. It backfired, Stiles got the crutch, and beat King’s friends with it. Stiles was shocked that King even showed up at the next show. Stiles thanked King for the assist but said she still does not like her. Stiles does not like that King gets in her business and challenged King to a match to teach her a lesson. King came out and accepted the challenge but before the match could start, Tracy Blood stopped King and shared her concern that this was a trap and Stiles was going to injure King again. King told Blood to stay out of it. When Blood persisted, King shocked everyone by blasting her with a super kick. Stiles broke into a look of excited surprise before laughing at Blood.
What Cate Stiles expected from her match with Kami King was anything but. King came out of her corner strong and caught Stiles off guard with a relentless offense. Stiles narrowly dodged a super kick and turned the tables on King. Stiles focused on King’s previously injured leg in between violent slams and suplexes. Although she showed the effects of the beating she had taken, King made a gutsy comeback, nearly pinning Stiles. King went for the kill with a super kick, but Stiles saw it coming, caught King’s ankle, and spun her to the mat with an ankle lock. King, with tears in her eyes, tried to fight out of the hold but was forced to submit. Stiles celebrated her victory before turning her attention to King who was on the mat being tended to by the referee. Stiles attacked King’s damaged leg and was trying to break the limb again, but Tracy Blood ran out to the ring. Blood fought with Stiles briefly before Stiles escaped the ring. Blood helped King to her feet where the two shared a tense moment in the ring.
The main event featured two men looking to challenge Snarl for the MoW Championship. “The Star Player” Johnny Young faced Jax Rivers in singles competition. Both men were out to prove themselves as next in line to challenge Snarl for the MoW Championship. The match started with Young getting the upper hand, but it was not long before Rivers made his comeback. Rivers nearly pinned Young after a flapjack but Young stayed in the fight. Rivers got caught in midair and crushed into the mat with a powerslam. Young made a fierce comeback. Rivers was suplexed from post to post, slammed hard on the mat, and leveled with clotheslines. With Rivers reeling, victory was in Johnny Young’s sights, but the last thing he expected was to be hit from behind by Snarl! The MoW Champion entered the ring, blasted Young with a clothesline from behind, and brutally assaulted. Rivers began to get up and he too felt the wrath of Snarl. The champion pummeled both men before powerbombing Jax Rivers on top of a prone Johnny Young. The stunned crowd booed the champion as the show ended.
