MoW #017 Results

Masters of Wrestling comes to Sacramento, CA as tensions and rivalries mount.

The show opened with a non-title tag team match featuring the MoW Team Champions, The Navigators, against Marty Anderson and Killer Malone. The team of Anderson and Malone brought a strong offense to the champions and nearly picked up a victory, but the champions powered through. Pete Arrow used a powerbomb on Malone and that was immediately followed up with a flying splash by Aidan North. North covered for the pin and won the match. The champions celebrated their win, but the celebration was cut short when Anderson and Malone assaulted them. The Navigators were left lying in the ring.

Cole Arcane faced Vance McElroy in a singles match. McElroy put up a good fight but Arcane pinned him after a running bulldog. While Arcane celebrated his win, Dr. Insidious confronted him with a metal baseball bat in hand. Arcane tried to disarm his foe but Insidious got the better of him and beat him with the baseball bat.

Backstage, The Navigators stormed into a dressing room and confronted Southern Aggression, the team of John Austin Baker and Terry Bombay. Aidan North questioned the team on why they did not come to the ring while Anderson and Malone were attacking them. Pete Arrow reminded them that he and North bailed out Baker and Bombay from a similar attack. Baker shrugged and said they were not watching. Bombay stepped in and said they did not ask for The Navigators help in the past and are not obligated to return any favors.

MoW Champion Maria Estrella caught up with her friend Lucia Mendez backstage and thanked Mendez for having her back at the last show. Mendez seemed standoffish to Estrella. Estrella picked up on it and asked Mendez if there was a problem. Mendez said the situation with Claudia Winter is odd. Winter helped Estrella regain the MoW Championship and Aurora Starkey was beaten down before she could get a rematch. Mendez questioned if Estrella was hiding something. Estrella, hurt by the accusation, stormed off. Mendez watched with suspicion as Estrella left.

Johnny Young was in singles action against Andre Jordan. Jordan, as always, had Claudia Winter in his corner. Jordan put up a good fight against the number one contender but Young showed everyone why he was next in line for Snarl’s MoW Championship. Young looked ready to win the match, but Winter distracted the referee. Young got involved and that allowed Jordan an opportunity to recover and attack Young. Jordan made the most of his second chance but Young fought back and defeated Jordan for the victory. While Young celebrated his win in the ring, Jordan and Winter began to leave ringside but were stopped when MoW Champion Snarl came down the aisle. Jordan put his hands out in a show that he did not want to get involved but was powerbombed to the floor for his efforts anyway. Winter jumped on Snarl’s back but was thrown over and onto Jordan. Young got involved and stepped between Snarl and his victims. Snarl pointed at Jordan and Winter and yelled at Young that he was looking at his future.

The main event saw Kami King facing Cate Stiles. This long building rivalry made for an aggressive, though technical, wrestling match. Stiles focused her attack on King’s leg but King surprised Stiles with quick offense of her own, nearly pinning Stiles on several occasions. Stiles made an aggressive comeback and began a vicious beat down on King. Stiles got cocky, playing with her foe, which turned out to be a huge mistake. King shocked Stiles with an unexpected superkick. King covered quickly and pinned Stiles for the win. King celebrated her win as Stiles looked stunned. Stiles grew full of rage and savagely attacked King in the middle of the ring. Tracy Blood ran down to the ring to help King. In the scuffle, King went to superkick Stiles, but Stiles ducked, and Blood was hit square in the jaw, knocking her out cold. Stiles escaped the ring while King knelt over Blood to check on her.
