Masters of Wrestling came to New York City and brought a show jam packed with excitement.
Balance and Ridge made their MoW debut in a tag team match against Southern Aggression. Southern Aggression lived up to their name early in the match. John Austin Baker kept Ridge from making the tag to Balance. Ridge blasted Baker with a face buster and had an opportunity to tag in Balance, who came in strong. Baker tagged in Terry Bombay and the match kicked into high gear. Ridge tagged in during the final moments of the match and used a frog splash on Bombay. Ridge covered for the pinfall victory.
MoW Champion Maria Estrella joined Larry Loudmouth in the ring. Loudmouth asked Estrella what was going through her mind after Lucia Mendez turned on her. Estrella said she learned from the past that in wrestling, friendships are hard to come by. Still, she was shocked and upset by Mendez’s actions. Estrella said she was sure Claudia Winter’s influence had poisoned Mendez’s mind but wanted Mendez one-on-one in the ring anyway. She announced that MoW management made the match official as the main event later in the night.
Jax Rivers was backstage in a locker room with Cate Stiles and expressed his frustration about what happened in his match with Bill Stanton. Stiles said it was unacceptable and makes them both look bad. Stiles told Rivers that he needed to do something about it.
Shannon Worth and Meghan DeWitt came to the ring to address their attack on Kami King and Tracy Blood. Worth said they wanted to make sure they had everyone’s attention. They have been watching the “squeaky wheels” get the grease and smartened up. Worth said they decided to make some noise and the loudest noise possible was at the end of a show, so that is what they did. Tracy Blood and Kami King came out and Blood said the noise was loud and clear. Blood challenged them to a tag team match. King stood alongside Blood, though she did not seem to be thrilled about it.
Shannon Worth and Meghan DeWitt faced Tracy Blood and Kami King in tag team action. Worth worked well with DeWitt compared to the dysfunctional Blood and King. King was knocked to the outside where Worth and DeWitt double teamed her. Blood climbed the turnbuckle, an unusual place for her, and dove to the floor on top of DeWitt and Worth. Blood injured her arm in the fall and stayed on the floor as the match continued. King fought hard but without Blood’s support, she was overcome and defeated by DeWitt by pinfall. King checked on Blood after the match.
“Badlands” Bill Stanton came to MoW to avenge his friend, Cole Arcane, and the target of his aggression was Fraust. Stanton stood in the ring and waited for Fraust. Fraust eventually did appear from the audience, dressed in a t-shirt and jeans. The no holds barred match lived up to its name. Stanton used a pipe early in the match to get an advantage. Fraust fought back, whipping Stanton with camera cables, crushing his back with steel chairs, and dropping him onto the announcer’s table. Stanton’s back was bleeding from a fall onto one of the LED monitors. Fraust managed to get Stanton onto the ring apron and piledrived him onto a metal garbage can on the floor. Stanton showed heart as he tried to make a comeback but Fraust finished him off with a brain buster before pinning him in the ring. Fraust was declared the winter but left ringside through the crowd without celebrating. Stanton’s night was not over. As he was recovering in the ring, Jax Rivers ran down and attacked him.
Kami King found Tracy Blood backstage. Blood’s arm was bandaged with an ice pack. King asked if she was ok and Blood said she may have broken her wrist but would be fine. King said that Blood keeps looking out for her and taking risks, but she has been so mean in return. King apologized. Blood said that she was only looking out for her friend, but King had asked her to keep her nose out of her business and she failed to do that. Blood apologized as well, and the friends hugged. Blood said that they have a new problem to deal with now in Shannon Worth and Meghan DeWitt.
Larry Loudmouth invited MoW Champion Snarl to the ring and recapped the events of the MoW Championship match at The Battle in Seattle. Loudmouth mentioned that Snarl, though victorious, was not the man standing at the end of the night. Snarl said that Johnny Young could make himself feel better about losing by thinking he was somehow the better man because he walked away after the match but it didn’t matter in the end because the man with the championship belt was standing in the ring. Loudmouth asked if Snarl had heard Young’s challenge for a rematch. Snarl said he did hear the challenge and would accept but if Young loses the rematch, he can never challenge for the MoW Championship again. Snarl left and Loudmouth wondered aloud how Young would respond.
The main event featured Lucia Mendez facing her former friend, MoW Champion Maria Estrella, in a non-title match. Mendez was joined at ringside by Claudia Winter and Andre Jordan. Estrella was hot on the attack early on, letting out her anger on Mendez. Mendez fought back but Estrella managed to regain the upper hand. Estrella went for a pin, but Winter climbed up onto the apron and distracted the referee. Estrella ran over and blasted Winter with a boot to the face. Winter flew off the apron and hit the barricade on the outside. Jordan went to check on Winter as the match continued in the ring. Mendez used the distraction to attack Estrella. Mendez had a few near falls, but the champion continued to show her fighting spirit. Estrella made a late match rally and drove Mendez to the mat with a running powerslam. Estrella covered for a pin but Winter dove into the ring and attacked Estrella. Maria Estrella was declared the winner by disqualification but was attacked by Mendez and Winter. After a DDT knocked Estrella out, Jordan climbed into the ring and pulled an electric razor out of his jacket pocket. Mendez held the unconscious Estrella’s head up while Winter proceeded to shave off Estrella’s long hair. After the deed was done, Estrella was left bald in the center of the ring. When Estrella came to, she was horrified by what Winter, Mendez, and Jordan had done. Tears streamed down Estrella’s face and her horror turned to anger as she glared at her attackers who were standing in the aisle. Mendez had a large clump of Estrella’s hair in each hand and held them against her own head pretending to have pigtails. Winter smiled and waved at Estrella as she and her cohorts left the ringside area.
