MoW #028 Results

Masters of Wrestling visited Allentown, PA for a night of new beginnings and renewed tensions.

Maria Estrella kicked off the show in the ring. The former MoW Champion’s knee and ankle were bandaged as she limped in the ring. Estrella addressed losing the title to Cate Stiles and while she admitted that Stiles is a worthy champion, Estrella said she had some help. Estrella then called out Lucia Mendez. Mendez came to the ring with Claudia Winter at her side. Estrella said Mendez has been a thorn in her side for too long and blamed Mendez for her leg injuries prior to the failed title defense. Mendez scoffed and said Estrella was never going to beat Stiles anyway. Estrella challenged Mendez to a match, but Winter said that Mendez was not going to waste her time with broken wrestlers. Estrella started to refute Winter when Mendez clipped her at the knee. Both women attacked Estrella but were chased off when Aurora Starkey’s music began to play. Starkey ran down and chased off Mendez and Winter. Starkey helped Estrella to her feet and the two former rivals looked at each other warily before standing united in the ring.

Killer Malone and Marty Anderson met Balance and Ridge in an exhibition tag team match. Balance and Ridge showed that they were able to hold their own against the MoW Team Champions. Malone and Anderson were not to be shown up, however, and fought back just as hard. Backstage, The Navigators were seen watching the match on a monitor. Back at ringside, Ridge went for a frogsplash on Malone, but Anderson pulled his partner out of the way. Malone recovered and hit Ridge with a knockout punch before covering for the win.

Shannon Worth and Meghan DeWitt are sitting in the locker room. There was serious tension between the two. DeWitt tried to break the ice and apologized for what happened in Worth’s match against Tracy Blood. DeWitt said that Worth is her best friend and she loves her. Worth softened up and began to hug DeWitt. When DeWitt tried to release the huge, Worth held on and then ragdolled DeWitt into a wall of lockers. Worth mercilessly attacked DeWitt before leaving her out cold on the floor.

Jax Rivers stood in the ring and introduced “the greatest woman to ever step foot in a wrestling ring” and new MoW Champion, Cate Stiles. Stiles came to the ring and addressed the audience. She said tonight was a night to celebrate. When she was a young girl, she sat in the crowd at a MoW show, just the people in front of her, and dreamed about being MoW Champion. Stiles said that unlike the lazy people she was addressing in the audience, she worked hard, and her dream came true. The crowd booed and Rivers said they should not be jealous; they should feel fortunate to be in the presence of the greatest MoW Champion ever. Stiles looked annoyed as the audience continued to boo. Before Stiles could respond to the audience, Kami King interrupted. King stood in the aisle and said that a lot of people work hard for their dreams and never give up. King said she has also dreamed of being a champion and despite being seen as too small, dealing with injuries, and being passed over on opportunities, she still fights every night for her dream. King then challenged Stiles to a match. Stiles looked amused. King began to make her way toward the ring but was attacked from behind by Witchmere. Stiles and Rivers looked surprised but started laughing. King tried to fight off Witchmere but was overpowered and left laying ringside. Stiles commented that King seems to have some other problems to deal with first.

John Austin Baker looked for some revenge against his former tag team partner, Terry Bombay. Bombay was joined at ringside by his brother, Bobby Bombay. Baker came out strong with a flurry of punches on Bombay and then started with some throws and suplexes. Bombay made a comeback and taunted Baker. Bombay told Baker he was a disappointment and was not needed anymore. Baker made a comeback of his own and looked like he might have been closing in on a victory but Bobby Bombay dove into the ring and dropped Baker with a lariat. The referee called for the bell and The Bomb Squad double teamed Baker in the ring.

MoW Champion Snarl stepped into the ring with a microphone in hand and immediately began to call out Mark Blood. Snarl was furious that Blood would interfere in his victory speech. Blood answered the call and came down to the ring to confront the champion. Blood said that Snarl has no respect for what MoW was built on and who built it. Blood admitted that Snarl was dominant over twenty years ago and is arguably even more dominant today but he has no right to disrespect people who came before him, like Mike Blood, The Rebel, The Druid, Ghostly Image, Tiger Johnson, Cro-Magnum, and many others. Snarl told Blood not to choose this hill to die on and move along. Blood said that Snarl needed to learn some respect and offered to be the teacher. Snarl said he left Blood’s father a shell of his former self back in the old days and would do worse to him. Blood shrugged and then hit Snarl with a hard right. Both men began to slug each other. Snarl grabbed Blood and went for a powerbomb, but Blood blocked it and reversed it into a back-body drop. Blood went right on the attack. The action spilled out of the ring where Blood threw Snarl over the barricade into the crowd. Both men fought through the rowdy crowd. Snarl grabbed a fan and shoved them at Blood, distracting him. Snarl then clubbed Blood, beat him down, and powerbombed him on some chairs. The champion stood tall as he looked down at Blood.
