Masters of Wrestling came off an action packed supershow with Lonestar Stampede. We have some news from the aftermath of the event as well as comments from some of the wrestlers.
New champions rule the roost in MoW. Aurora Starkey defeated Cate Stiles to become the MoW Champion of the women’s division. Rex Anarchy, the Rapid Fire Wrestling Titan Champion, is now also MoW Champion with his controversial win over Mark Blood. The landscape of MoW has changed in new, dramatic ways.
The biggest news coming out of Lonestar Stampede is arguably Rex Anarchy snatching the MoW Championship from Mark Blood thanks to some help from his old RFW partner, Witchmere. Blood made himself unavailable for comment, but Rex Anarchy had much to say.
“I told you that this would happen, didn’t I? Yeah, I did. RFW’s champion has overtaken the MoW Champion, proving the mistake that was made when Sunderland and his people ditched RFW to bring back MoW. Your mistake was not bringing your champion, the best wrestler in the sport, along for the ride. Well, I fixed that for you. Masters of Wrestling, your championship now means something. Oh, and Witchmere? Yeah, she’s been prepared for this from the start. Yeah. Waiting. Waiting for the chance to set the wheels in motion. We aren’t done. Not by a longshot. Hey, Aurora Starkey! Yeah, you. Congrats on your big win tonight. You did great. Enjoy your victory because you know what happens next? Of course, you do. Witchmere pops your head like a watermelon in a hydraulic press and we take over MoW just like we did in RFW. We’re here, strong as ever, and we’re taking what we want! The Rapid Fire Rebellion is here!”
Aurora Starkey defeated Cate Stiles to become the new MoW Champion. Starkey is celebrating her win, but the story is quite different for Stiles. We caught up with Stiles, who was sulking in a dark corner of the arena after the match. Not even her husband, Jax Rivers, could calm her.
“This should not have happened. I am the best wrestler in this business. How could this happen? How?!? I’ve been the dominant wrestler. Look how many others hobbled away from the ring after I tore them apart. Broke them! The MoW Championship was made for someone like me. I should still be the champion… But, laughs I’ve got to admit, Aurora Starkey was the better woman tonight. She won. I lost. Well, that’s because… I’m not the best anymore. I’ve been distracted. I’ve been more focused on living the high life and not enough of being the unstoppable athlete I’m supposed to be. Not anymore. I am going to go rediscover Cate Stiles. I am going to come back. And I am going to take back what is rightfully mine.”
Stiles has informed MoW management that she will be stepping away from active competition for now. With Stiles out of action, there will be a four-woman mini tournament taking place over the next shows to decide a new number one contender for Aurora Starkey’s MoW Championship.
Every tag team in MoW is after the current MoW Team Champions, “Badlands” Bill Stanton and The Convict. The champions shot to the top of the division since joining forces, though their victories have been marred in controversy. Or, according to Stanton, maybe not.
“What do you mean controversial? There’s nothing controversial about how we win our matches. We take short cuts. We cheat. We do whatever we have to do to stay on top. Nothing controversial about that since we ain’t hiding how we do this. We are the top team in MoW. MoW has some great competition for us. We find a way to win. It’s not our problem if you don’t like it. Gentlemen we ain’t. Street survivors we are.”
“Yeah that’s right, Billy! I came here to MoW to win some gold. We teamed up and gold is exactly what we’ve got around our waists. Everyone in MoW wants a piece of us. Well, step right up because if you come at us, I’ll spike ya and Billy here, he’ll break your skull. Champs for life! Life!”
Shannon Worth picked up the managerial services of Claudia Winter and the two competed in tag team action against Meghan DeWitt and Yurei. Worth picked up a win for her team and looks poised to climb the ladder of the women’s division. Winter’s former clients, Lucia Mendez and Andre Jordan, have a different take.
“Shannon, Shannon, Shannon. Babe, you made a big mistake hiring Claudia Winter to stand in your corner. You think for a second she’s looking out for you? Have you been paying attention at all? Lucia and I trusted her to take our careers to new heights. Instead, all she did was use us for her own agendas. We smartened up and got out but now she’s got your in her trap.”
“I hear there’s a little tournament going down to determine a new number one contender to face Aurora Starkey for the MoW Championship. Did Claudia slide you in there? If she’s worth anything, she better have. Or, did she insert herself into the tournament? Mama, I’m dyin’ to know because I’ll be there. And I’m going to win it. And I can’t wait to see Claudia’s face when I move on and take the MoW Championship without her. Claudia, you wasted too much of my time. Now I’ll show you who you held back.”
Cole Arcane and Snarl had a brutal meeting in the ring and though Snarl was victorious, Arcane refused to stay down resulting in a bloody post-match confrontation. Snarl was taken to a hospital where he received several stitches in his head and was treated for a concussion. We couldn’t catch up with Arcane for a comment, but he is expected to be at the next show.
John Austin Baker defeated Dr. Insidious in singles action but he and Kami King’s issues with the strange masked man is likely far from over. King took out Insidious with a super kick after the match. We got her thoughts on the match and what she thinks may happen next.
“John did great tonight. He put up a fight, took down the bad guy, and… yeah. What else can I say about it? Dr. Insidious attacked after the match and I helped a little. But John and I both know this isn’t over. What is this guy’s problem? Why is he so obsessed with stalking us? We’re not dumb. We are both watching each other’s backs. Dr. Insidious is hard to predict but we’ll be ready for whatever he does next.”
We are heading back to our hometown of Scranton, PA for the next few shows and then it’s back on the road again. What is next for Rex Anarchy and his Rapid Fire Rebellion? Will Mark Blood confront him? Who will face Aurora Starkey for the MoW Championship? Will the tag team division get under control? These questions and more will be answered when MoW returns to Scranton!
