MoW #037 Results

Masters of Wrestling stopped home in Scranton, PA with new champions, new contenders, and new rivalries.

Lucia Mendez and Meghan DeWitt competed in a qualifier for the MoW Championship number one contender match. Mendez was joined by Andre Jordan, who supported her ringside. The match started competitively but DeWitt caught Mendez off guard with a knee strike and built an offense. Mendez kicked out of a pin and exploded with a suplex on DeWitt moments later to turn the tide. Mendez wore down DeWitt but could not keep her down for a pin. Mendez taunted DeWitt as she stood over her and DeWitt used the opportunity to roll Mendez into a small package. DeWitt kept Mendez down for the three count and advanced to the number one contender’s match. Mendez sat in the ring with a look of shock while Jordan looked on in disbelief.

The Bomb Squad, Killer Malone and Marty Anderson, The Navigators, and Balance and Ridge were all backstage arguing over which team deserved to challenge “Badlands” Bill Stanton and a The Convict for the MoW Team Championships. Larry Loudmouth appeared and informed everyone that MoW management had decided to put all four teams into a ladder match at the next show. A contract for a MoW Team Championship will hang above the ring.

Shannon Worth and Yurei battled in the second MoW Championship number one contender qualifying match. Worth was joined by her manager, Claudia Winter. Yurei came out strong as the bell rang, sending a frustrated Worth to the outside where Winter tried to refocus her. Yurei stormed to the outside of the ring and blasted both Worth and Winter with a double clothesline. Yurei got Worth back into the ring but Worth quickly made a comeback. Both women fought hard in the closing minutes of the match but a well-placed spinning elbow from Worth sent Yurei to the mat. Worth covered for a pinfall victory and celebrated as Winter clapped in cheerful approval.

MoW Team Champions “Badlands” Bill Stanton and The Convict were walking backstage and ran into Stanton’s old friend, Cole Arcane. Stanton said he was happy to see Arcane but then questioned why Arcane did not seem happy to see him. Arcane said he was bothered by the way Stanton has been cheating his way to the top. Stanton took his head and told Arcane he was mistaken. Stanton said MoW is as tough as it gets, and he and The Convict are just doing what they must. The Convict said that if Arcane was following their lead, he would have lost to Snarl. Stanton apologized and said that was harsh, though he added that The Convict has a point. Arcane said he can prove otherwise and then challenged Stanton to a match.

Larry Loudmouth invited the new MoW Champion, Aurora Starkey to the ring. Loudmouth congratulated Starkey on winning the title before adding that Shannon Worth and Meghan DeWitt will compete at the next show to decide which one of them would challenge Starkey in her first title defense. Starkey said every woman in MoW works hard to get where she now is. When the dust settles and she has a new challenger, she knows it will be the best woman MoW has to offer. Starkey said she has been MoW Champion before and knows how easily it can be taken away. Starkey said she intends to be a fighting champion for a long time to come.

Cole Arcane met “Badlands” Bill Stanton in the main event match. The Convict joined Stanton at ringside but was thrown out early in the match when he tried to put Stanton’s foot on the ropes to break a pin attempt. Stanton was upset with the referees ruling but it did not stop him from attacking Arcane with an aggressive series of attacks. Arcane made a late match comeback. Stanton discreetly pulled a foreign object out from his pants to get the upper hand but was caught by Arcane. Stanton tried to apologize but Arcane kicked him in the gut and crushed him to the mat with a running bulldog. Arcane pinned Stanton for the victory.

The new MoW Champion Rex Anarchy, with Witchmere at his side, came to the ring to address MoW and its fans. He was also carrying the Rapid Fire Wrestling Titan Championship belt. Anarchy declared the Rapid Fire Rebellion had begun, and it will change MoW forever. Anarchy said that the MoW Championship meant nothing to him and as the holder of both titles, the Titan Championship is the only title he will recognize. This brought out Mark Blood who stormed the ring and condemned Anarchy for the disrespect of MoW and all the people who held the MoW Championship with pride. Blood promised to win back the MoW Championship and said he had come calling for his rematch. Anarchy agreed to a rematch and Blood found himself surrounded by Anarchy and Witchmere. Blood told Witchmere to back off and was then attacked by Anarchy. Anarchy and Witchmere doubled teamed Blood. The odds were evened, however, as Tracy Blood made her return to MoW and ran down to the ring to help her brother. After dispatching Witchmere through the ropes, she was pushed into a corner by Anarchy. Mark Blood recovered and attacked Anarchy, tossing him over the ropes with Witchmere. The Blood siblings stood tall in the ring as The Rapid Fire Rebellion watched them from the outside, smiling.
