MoW #046 Results

Two Masters of Wrestling icons returned to the ring in an intense show in Phoenix, AZ.

The show opened with Andre Jordan in the ring. Jordan waited for the arrival of Hardcore Adam, the man he challenged to return to MoW for a match. Adam came down to the ring and the audience gave the legend a rowdy applause. Both men paced around the ring as the bell rang and then locked up in the middle. Adam took early control of the match, using a complex chain of wrestling holds and throws. Jordan looked shocked at the offense from Adam but found an opportunity to drive a shoulder into Adam’s gut, opening the way to a technical offense of his own. Adam looked dazed by the speed of offense that Jordan was unleashing. Jordan nearly picked up a few pinfalls, but Adam continued to kick out. Jordan tried for a belly-to-belly suplex, but Adam blocked it. Adam built an offensive comeback that finished with a piledriver. Hardcore Adam covered Jordan for a pin and picked up the victory.

Larry Loudmouth was backstage with Cole Arcane and asked Arcane about his loss against Snarl at the last show. Arcane said that it was hard to be upset about a countout loss when Snarl barely made it into the ring himself. Snarl showed up and asked Arcane if he needed more punishment. Arcane shrugged and said he guessed that he did.

Lucia Mendez confronted MoW Champion Aurora Starkey backstage and said she just got word that she will get her title match against Starkey next week and told Starkey to shine up the belt nice for her. Starkey said that she would shine up the belt, like a mirror, and she can hold it up to Mendez after the match so Mendez can see the agony of defeat on her own face. Starkey walked off and Mendez sneered at her.

As Mendez watched Starkey walk off, John Austin Baker walked by. He rounded a corner and heard someone call his name from behind. Baker turned around to see Kami King approaching him. King apologized to Baker for not trusting him. Baker told King that he tried to get into the head of Dr. Insidious so he could stop him for good. Nobody believed or trusted him. Not King. Not the fans. No one. Baker said going forward he walked alone. King was sad and commented that Insidious had taken so much from them. Baker said that in the end, Dr. Insidious won. Baker said goodbye to King and walked away.

Cole Arcane and Snarl met in the ring in the latest attempt to settle their differences. Arcane hit Snarl hard and heavy to start the match but Snarl exploded with a brutal, relentless offense that bounced Arcane to all corners of the ring. Arcane struggled to get in some offense but Snarl was unwilling to let him get an advantage. Arcane did break through and fight back hard against Snarl. Snarl started to make a comeback before crushing Arcane to the mat with a powerbomb. Snarl covered for the pin but Arcane kicked out. Snarl laughed and continued to pound away on Arcane. Another powerbomb left Arcane motionless on the mat. Snarl covered for another pin but, somehow, Arcane kicked out. Arcane could barely stand as Snarl whipped him into a turnbuckle. Snarl went for a spear but Arcane dropped to the mat, causing Snarl to hit the ring post with his shoulder. Snarl began to stumble backward and Arcane rolled him up with a schoolboy pin, picking up the three count and winning the match. Cole Arcane was unable to stand up after the match. A frustrated Snarl snatched Arcane up and slammed him down to the mat with a post-match powerbomb.

Shannon Worth and Claudia Winter confronted Maria Estrella backstage. Winter said that Estrella had her nice little vacation from the ring but Worth has been busy in her absence and is not going to step aside for anyone. Estrella said that Winter has been a thorn in her side for a year and suggested that maybe it is not Worth that she needs to deal with, it is Winter. Winter became angry but instead of saying anything, she stormed off with Worth catching up behind her. Estrella smirked and shook her head.

MoW Team Champions Killer Malone and Marty Anderson were in the interview area with Larry Loudmouth. Loudmouth asked the champions about The Bomb Squad’s challenge. Anderson pulled out a contract for a title match next week in Nashville. Malone said the details are done and The Bomb Squad have signed themselves up for a beating. Malone held up a taped fist and Anderson said they will see The Bomb Squad in the ring next week.

The main event was a six person tag match and featured Mark Blood, Tracy Blood, and MoW icon, Mike Blood taking on the Rapid Fire Rebellion featuring MoW Champion Rex Anarchy, Witchmere, and another MoW icon, The Rebel. Mike Blood received a massive ovation as he came down to the ring. Surrounded by his children, Mike stood tall in the ring and looked ready for action. The Rebel had an audience of his own, though the MoW crowd was clearly behind the Blood family in this ongoing feud.

Mark Blood and Rex Anarchy started things off and traded offense until Mark built momentum, forcing Anarchy to tag in Witchmere. This brought Tracy Blood into the ring to replace her brother and the two women had a strike-heavy battle in the ring. Witchmere caught Tracy with some heavy punches but it was Tracy’s kicks that sent Witchmere to the mat. Tracy tried for a pin but Witchmere kicked out, making a comeback before tagging The Rebel into the match. Tracy needed to tag out and, in response to the cheers from the crowd, tagged in her father, Mike Blood.

The cheering in the arena was deafening as the two men who competed in MoW’s first ever match in 1993 stood face-to-face and locked up in a MoW ring in 2020. It was a sight no one expected to see again. Mike showed that he still had fighting spirit left in him with a surprisingly aggressive offense on The Rebel. The Rebel struggled to get through the offense but managed to hit Mike with a dropkick and began to turn the tide. The Rebel and Anarchy made frequent tags as they began a calculated beat down on Mike while his children rallied the audience for support. Mike ducked a clothesline by The Rebel and rebounded with a flying elbow. Mike tagged in Mark, who entered the ring and cleaned house, sending Anarchy to the floor and unloading on The Rebel. The Rebel hit Mark with an eye gouge the referee did not see and tagged in Witchmere, bringing Tracy into the ring. Witchmere and Tracy battled until Witchmere got the upper hand and used a head vise submission. Tracy was fading but Mike stepped through the ropes and attempted to pull Witchmere off his daughter. This brought in Anarchy and The Rebel, which then brought in Mark, causing a brawl to happen in the ring. The fighting caused Witchmere to release her hold to help attack the Blood men. Witchmere did not notice Tracy had recovered and she was blasted by a head kick.

The referee regained order to the match, though Anarchy dragged the dazed Witchmere into their corner so she could tag him in. Mark replaced Tracy and the match continued. Anarchy kept the momentum going for his team, but Mark powered through the attack and made a big comeback. Mark ran off the ropes, but The Rebel hit him with a kick in the back. Mark spun around and belted The Rebel with a forearm, sending him to the floor. Anarchy tried to capitalize on the distraction, but Mark fought on before tagging in Mike. Mike was overpowered by the younger and stronger Anarchy, but Anarchy did not have the decades of wrestling knowledge that Mike did. Mike Blood found an opening in Anarchy’s offense and made a quick comeback before hitting a brainbuster and covering Anarchy for a pin. Tracy blocked Witchmere from breaking up the count and Mike Blood picked up the three count victory, pinning the MoW Champion and providing a huge win for his family and their mission to stop the Rapid Fire Rebellion. The Blood family celebrated in the ring as Mike Blood’s children embraced him and held his arms high in celebration.
