Masters of Wrestling came to Savannah, GA with a legend challenging for the big prize.
The show opened with The Convict and Vance McElroy in singles action. “Badlands” Bill Stanton was hanging around ringside in support of The Convict. McElroy took a heavy beating early in the match until he blocked a vertical suplex and reversed it. McElroy saw the opportunity to get in some offense and took advantage. The Convict nailed McElroy with a forearm, stunning him. Stanton motioned for The Convict to approach him and slid a small chain into the ring. The Convict picked up the chain and hid his hand as he wrapped it with the chain. The Convict turned around to strike, but McElroy had recovered and rolled up The Convict with a small package. The referee counted the three and Vance McElroy picked up his first victory in MoW! McElroy was stunned by his victory while The Convict was furious. Stanton tried to calm The Convict down outside the ring but was pushed backward.
Lucia Mendez was sitting backstage with Snarl when Andre Jordan burst into the room and announced that he was granted a rematch with Hardcore Adam at the next show. Mendez gave him a kiss and encouraged him, telling him she was sure he would win. Jordan said that Adam beat him in a traditional wrestling match, so he will do better by beating Adam in a hardcore match. Mendez’s jaw dropped. Snarl covered his face in his hands and shook his head. Jordan stood proud before walking back out of the room with a skip in his step.
Jordan walked by a sullen Kami King, who was sitting on a crate in the hallway. She watched Jordan walk by and then sighed. Claudia Winter and Shannon Worth walked up to King and King tensed up. Winter told her to relax and Worth said that King did not seem herself during their match last week. Winter placed a hand on King’s shoulder and said that she was building the future of wrestling and she and Worth agreed that King was part of that future. Worth suggested King have a talk with them. Maria Estrella interrupted and told Winter to leave King alone. Winter and Worth held up their hands and walked away. Estrella glared at them as they left.
Larry Loudmouth was standing in front of a dressing room door when Mike Blood stepped out to greet him. Loudmouth asked Blood how he was feeling about his opportunity to regain the MoW Championship against Rex Anarchy. Blood said that he never expected to get back into the ring after years of retirement let alone compete for the MoW Championship. Blood said that he still has some tricks up his sleeve but no matter the outcome, he was honored to be able to perform in front of the MoW fans again.
Jax Rivers returned to in-ring competition in a singles match against John Austin Baker. Rivers was accompanied by his wife, Cate Stiles. Rivers was caught off guard by an aggressive Baker but refocused and came back with a strong offense of his own. The action continued in the ring until Baker clotheslined Rivers over the ropes to the outside. Baker climbed out of the ring to attack Rivers, but Stiles got in his way and began arguing with Baker. Rivers recovered and he and Stiles traded verbal barbs with Baker as the referee climbed out of the ring to restore order in the match. Stiles refused to get out of the way, which brought out MoW Champion Aurora Starkey to remove Stiles from ringside. Starkey began to brawl with Stiles. Rivers and Baker brawled on the outside. The referee counted out both men, ending the match in a double countout. The fighting outside the ring continued until MoW officials flooded ringside to pull everyone apart.
Larry Loudmouth interviewed Balance and Ridge backstage regarding their big win against MoW Team Champions, Killer Malone and Marty Anderson. Balance said it was a big win for them and they were coming for the titles. The Navigators, Aidan North and Pete Arrow, appeared and said that Balance and Ridge have proven that they deserved a title shot, but when the dust settled, if they walked away as champions, The Navigators would be waiting for them.
The main event was a MoW Championship title match. MoW icon, Mike Blood, appeared in the arena to the standing ovation of the audience. Mike was flanked by his son, Mark, and daughter, Tracy. They hugged him before going backstage. Mike made the walk to the ring alone and stood in the ring in anticipation for the arrival of the champion, Rex Anarchy. Anarchy came to the ring carrying the Rapid Fire Wrestling Titan Championship belt instead of the MoW Championship belt as he deemed that title irrelevant.
The match started with a traditional collar and elbow tie up that Anarchy won and had his way with Blood. Blood struggled to find any traction in the match as Anarchy continued to keep him down. The tide turned when Anarchy tried for a clothesline, but Blood ducked and hit Anarchy with a dropkick on his rebound off the ropes. Blood made a spirited offensive push. This time it was Anarchy who could not get ahead. Blood hit Anarchy hard and fast. Blood used a piledriver on Anarchy and covered for a pin, but Anarchy kicked out. Blood worked on Anarchy’s back with atomic drops, backbreakers, and vicious body slams and suplexes. The weakened Anarchy found himself locked in Blood’s trusted Boston cab submission. Anarchy struggled but made it to the ropes to break the hold. Blood kept on the attack but a shoulder to the gut by Anarchy caused Blood to stumble backward. Anarchy made a comeback, unleashing a brutal assault on Blood. Anarchy crushed Blood’s chest into the turnbuckle and began to strike his ribs and stretch them with submissions. Blood looked to be in pain as he struggled to get to his feet. Anarchy continued to beat down the legend, though his attempts to pin Blood failed. Anarchy tried for a fisherman’s suplex, but Blood blocked it and crushed Anarchy’s head to the mat with a DDT. Blood made a comeback of his own and had victory in his sights. Blood went for a vertical suplex but failed to lift Anarchy. Blood grabbed his injured ribs and this moment allowed Anarchy to slam Blood with a fisherman’s suplex. Anarchy covered Blood for a pin and won the match, successfully defending the MoW Championship.
Anarchy celebrated in the ring. Meanwhile, Cole Arcane was watching his celebration via a monitor backstage. Anarchy left the ringside area and Mike Blood stood up in the ring. He looked around at the crowd, who was giving him a standing ovation. He took in the applause, waved to the fans, and left the ring.
