Masters of Wrestling came to Salt Lake City, UT for the last show before the Final Round 2020 supershow.
Larry Loudmouth kicked of the show by inviting MoW Champion Rex Anarchy to the ring. Anarchy carried the RFW Titan Championship title over his shoulder instead of the MoW Championship belt. Loudmouth commented on Anarchy’s lengthy run as MoW Champion, which Anarchy cut short and said that he had killed the MoW Championship when he won it and recognized the RFW Titan Championship as the one true title. A frustrated, yet professional, Loudmouth continued the interview, asking Anarchy his thoughts on his opponent at next week’s supershow, Final Round 2020, Cole Arcane. Anarchy called Arcane a reckless, thick-headed punk who could never handle being a champion in a backyard wrestling promotion and the idea of him being champion in the big leagues is unfathomable.
Arcane came out to confront the champion and said it was sad that Anarchy would question his worthiness as champion when Anarchy himself cannot even bring himself to be called MoW’s champion. Anarchy scoffed at Arcane’s comment and said he could not wait to bury Arcane back into the mudhole he crawled out of. Arcane had no problem settling this issue right then and there. Anarchy started to back off but then attacked Arcane. Arcane fought back as both men traded fists before Arcane threw Anarchy through the ropes to the outside. Arcane stalked after the champion, pelting Anarchy with blows and throwing into the ring apron, steps, and barricades. Arcane looked ready to slam Anarchy through the announce table but Anarchy blocked the attempt and instead fisherman suplexed Arcane through the table. Anarchy yelled at Arcane, promising to break him completely at Final Round.
Andre Jordan came down to the ring holding hands with Lucia Mendez while Snarl flanked his other side. Jordan announced that he had been granted one more match against Hardcore Adam and it will take place at Final Round. Jordan added that the match will be in his own favor because it will be a best of three falls match and claimed Adam was too old to have the stamina to defeat him twice in one night. Hardcore Adam made a surprise appearance to respond to Jordan, receiving a huge applause from the crowd. Adam said he appreciated Jordan’s skill and desire to succeed, but overconfidence was his flaw each time they met in the ring and said it was clear Jordan had not learned from those encounters. Mendez defended Jordan and warned Adam that he is the one who should not underestimate Jordan’s ability. Adam assured them that he does not underestimate anyone. Jordan told Adam that their match at Final Round means everything to him. He will not lose, and Adam will not win. Jordan’s voice shook as he spoke. Mendez soothed his shoulder on one side and Snarl put a hand on his other shoulder as the three stood in solidarity across from the legendary Hardcore Adam. Adam said they both will fight as proud warriors with everything they have and wished Jordan luck before leaving.
The Convict and “Badlands” Bill Stanton battled Vance McElroy and Matt Griffin in a tag team match. The Convict and Stanton got the jump on Griffin early in the match and kept him from making a tag to McElroy. Griffin dodged a clothesline from The Convict and responded with a cross body block. Griffin tagged in McElroy, who came into the ring and bowled over The Convict, tossed Stanton over the ropes when he tried to step into the ring to interfere, and then started a spirited attack on The Convict. The Convict escaped the ring and regrouped with Stanton. They both threw their hands up and started leaving the ringside area. Griffin and McElroy followed and both teams brawled in the aisle as the referee counted both teams out. The fight continued into the stands and then up into the concession area of the arena. The Convict was clotheslined over a counter into a food station. Stanton hopped the counter to retrieve his partner, stole some hot dogs and a bag of popcorn, and dragged The Convict away.
Larry Loudmouth interviewed Jax Rivers backstage and announced that Rivers and John Austin Baker will meet in the ring at Final Round. Rivers said that Baker has become a dark, creepy man, but he is not afraid. Rivers intends to take Baker down for good at Final Round. Baker came up from behind and whipped Rivers with a bull rope. Baker hog tied Rivers and dragged him down the hallway. After more violent whips from the bull rope, Baker tossed Rivers into a dumpster.
Maria Estrella faced Shannon Worth in singles action. Kami King joined Estrella at ringside and Worth was joined by her manager, Claudia Winter. Estrella and Worth locked up in the middle of the ring and Estrella quickly took control of the match. Winter approached King to speak with her, causing Estrella to leave the ring and confront Winter and get her away from King. This gave Worth an opening to attack Estrella. Estrella tried to make a comeback but was caught by a spinning elbow from Worth. Worth pinned Estrella to pick up the victory. Worth and Winter approached King on the outside of the ring to talk with her. Estrella recovered, grabbed a microphone, and said that Winter and Worth did not know when to quit. Estrella told them to stay away from King before, but they would not listen, so she challenged Worth and Winter to a tag team match against King and herself at Final Round. Winter and worth accepted and left ringside. King stayed outside the ring and watched them leave while she rubbed the pendant of a necklace between her fingers.
Larry Loudmouth was backstage with The Navigators and asked them about their title opportunity against the MoW Team Champions, Killer Malone and Marty Anderson. Aidan North said that Malone and Anderson are one of the best teams they have seen in the ring, but he and Pete Arrow have traveled the world, faced the best teams, and are confident that they can regain the MoW Team Championships. Malone and Anderson walked in and sized up their competition. Anderson offered a history lesson to everyone and explained that The Navigators were champions but lost them. Anderson asked Malone who The Navigators lost to. Malone smiled and slapped the belt draped over his shoulder. Anderson nodded and said they defeated The Navigators for the titles and have only gotten better since then. Malone said he and Anderson will walk into 2021 as champions.
New MoW Champion Cate Stiles came out to the ring to celebrate her victory over Aurora Starkey. Stiles said all was right with the world now that the best wrestler is once again holding the big prize. Stiles promised to be the best champion MoW could ever hope for, and then suggested it would not be hard to live up to that promise because the pool of challengers cannot compare to herself. As the audience booed, Stiles looked confused and questioned who could compare to her. That comment brought out Tracy Blood. Blood stepped into the ring and walked around Stiles, sizing her up. Blood suggested that Stiles try to prove that claim as best wrestler by facing her in a match. Before Stiles could respond, Aurora Starkey came down to the ring. Starkey pointed at Blood and told her to get in line. Starkey admitted that Stiles was the better woman in their match last week and is deserving of the MoW Championship, but the match was an anomaly, would not happen again, and Starkey said she deserved a rematch. Stiles looked at both women and suggested they fight it out. Stiles agreed to put the MoW Championship on the line at Final Round against the winner.
Tracy Blood and Aurora Starkey prepared for their match while Cate Stiles sat down at ringside and propped her feet up on ring steps, casually watching the match. Starkey and Blood traded offense back and forth. Blood hit Starkey with some hard kicks to the thighs and midsection before transitioning to some takedowns. Starkey powered out of an armlock submission and exploded with a series of throws and slams. Starkey hit Blood with a big boot that sent Blood through the middle ropes to the floor. Blood stood up and looked to her right where Stiles was sitting. Stiles made a comment about Blood and Blood responded by kicking Stiles on the back of the knee, sending her toppling over in her chair. Blood dove back in the ring and continued her fight with Starkey. Stiles, meanwhile, recovered on the outside of the ring and stared with rage at the action in the ring. Blood made a comeback against Starkey but missed a head kick, allowing Starkey to catch her with a german suplex. Starkey followed up with a powerbomb and covered Blood for a pin. Blood put her foot on the ropes, but Stiles pushed it off. The referee counted to three and awarded Aurora Starkey the victory. Starkey celebrated before pointing to Stiles on the outside, motioning that she would once again be MoW Champion. Stiles held the MoW Championship belt high. Tracy Blood sat in a corner of the ring, glaring at Stiles as the show ended.
