John Austin Baker in action. Appearances by Maria Estrella, Balance, Ridge, Andre Jordan, Snarl, Preston Montgomery, Pierre Laurent, and more.
Alexandra Morgan vs. Yurei
The opening match featured a debuting Alexandra Morgan. Morgan held her own against Yurei in the opening minutes of the match with both women trading power moves and takedowns. Morgan had a burst of offense that had Yurei rocked. Yurei dodged a clothesline and came roaring back with some hard-hitting offense of her own. Morgan was in Yurei’s sights for a spear but avoided the attack. Morgan wore down Yurei and used a spinning side slam. Morgan covered for a pin and picked up a victory in an impressive debut.
The Insult
Kami King confronted Maria Estrella backstage as Estrella was entering the arena. King told Estrella how insulting it was that Estrella refused to wrestler her last week. Estrella tried to calm King down and said she wanted to sit down and talk to King instead of fighting. King told Estrella she was not interested in talking and wanted to fight. Estrella pleaded with King to reconsider but King insisted they would meet in the ring and walked away.
John Austin Baker vs. Vance McElroy
New MoW Championship number one contender sent a message to champ Cole Arcane with a quick, brutal assault on Vance McElroy. McElroy barely got in any offense from a laser focused and aggressive Baker. McElroy was battered around the ring before being leveled with a lariat. Baker covered for the pin and picked up the victory.
Room for Two More
Lucia Mendez burst into a catering area where Andre Jordan and Snarl were sitting and said she had a great idea. Mendez said the tag team division in MoW is getting crowded but felt there was room for another team. Mendez pointed to Jordan and Snarl and said they would make an awesome tag team.
Snarl sighed and complained that Mendez interrupted his meal for this. Jordan was a bit more receptive but said they would need to talk it over. Mendez bit her lip and admitted that she already talked to MoW Commissioner Tiger Johnson and he set Jordan and Snarl up with a tag team match against “Badlands” Bill Stanton and The Convict next week. Snarl put his face in his hands and grumbled. Jordan let out a long breath and shrugged. Mendez said she was sure they would do great and skipped off. Jordan and Snarl shared a glance. Snarl said not to look at him like that as Mendez was Jordan’s girlfriend. Snarl ripped a bite out of his sandwich and shook his head.
Tornado vs. Jax Rivers
Tornado made his MoW debut in a hotly contested match against Jax Rivers. Rivers led the offense early on, but Tornado had an answer for everything making for an exciting back and forth competition. Rivers got caught with a forearm shot by Tornado, allowing Tornado to hit with fists and kicks. Tornado built momentum and continued to wear down Rivers. Tornado went up top for a corkscrew senton, but Rivers rolled out of the way.
Rivers began a comeback that started to focus on Tornado’s legs, keeping him grounded. Rivers used submissions that were unable to keep Tornado down but continued to cause damage. Rivers whipped Tornado into the ropes looking to grab him on the rebound for a flapjack, but Tornado fell to his knees in pain. Rivers approached to pick up Tornado, but Tornado rolled Rivers into a small package. Rivers kicked out but the surprise distracted him long enough for Tornado hit him with a knee strike. Tornado attacked Rivers some more before climbing to the top rope. Rivers got up and intercepted Tornado, scooping him up for a top rope flapjack. Rivers covered for a pin to win the match.
Jax Rivers was walking back up the aisle while Kimberly Kennedy walked down and met with Tornado at ringside. Kennedy asked Tornado about his first match in MoW. Tornado said it was a hard-fought match that could have gone either way. Tornado congratulated Rivers on the win but challenged Rivers to meet him again for a rematch. Rivers turned around and walked up to Tornado to accept the challenge.
A Lifetime in the Ring
A video package was shown with video of a very young Tracy Blood backstage at an old MoW show, photos of her with MoW legends, video of her as a teenager training in kickboxing, video of her competing in MMA, and video of her holding up the RFW Valkyrie Championship. Current video clips were then shown of Blood in a training ring sparring with opponents. Blood was then shown sitting on a turnbuckle telling the camera that MoW is part of her very soul. Blood said she has competed in rings her entire life and Cate Stiles has the prize she wants. Blood said she is working harder than ever before so she can step into the ring at Bleeding Edge and walk out as the MoW Champion.
Grave and Giant Wraith w/Mysterie vs. The Navigators
The Navigators showed no fear in their bout against the debuting Grave and Giant Wraith. Aidan North locked up with Grave but was quickly overpowered. Grave and Giant Wraith were vicious in their slow, but brutal assault. North used an enziguri on Giant Wraith to stun the big man, allowing North to tag in a fresh Pete Arrow. Arrow brought the fight to his menacing opponents and passed the momentum on to a recovered North, who tagged in and kept Giant Wraith from reaching a tag to Grave. Mysterie stood outside watching the action and despite her team on the defensive, she seemed unfazed.
North tagged in Arrow to finish off Giant Wraith but was caught off guard by a sudden big boot. Grave tagged in and worked with Giant Wraith to assault Arrow. Grave and Giant Wraith used several chokeslams, power slams, and gorilla press drops on Arrow before pinning him for the victory.
Though the match had ended, Grave and Giant Wraith passed on celebrating their win and instead continued to batter Pete Arrow. Aidan North attempted to help his partner but was also brutally assaulted. The Navigators were left motionless in the ring as Mysterie stepped through the ropes with a microphone. Mysterie said Grave, Giant Wraith, and herself would never be forgotten and left the ring.
Crashing the Viewing Party
Preston Montgomery and Pierre Laurent were sitting in a backstage room decorated into a posh private movie theater while watching the action in the ring. A door opened and Balance and Ridge walked in, prompting Montgomery and Laurent to jump to their feet. Laurent demanded Balance and Ridge leave their private theater. Balance opened the popcorn machine and helped himself to filling a bag. Montgomery told him that popcorn was not for him, to which Balance apologized and threw the popcorn in Montgomery’s face. Montgomery and Laurent were enraged but Ridge told them to calm down. Ridge said that Montgomery and Laurent had done enough watching the ring and time to get into it. Balance challenged them to a match at next week’s show.
Laurent complained that Balance and Ridge had been out of line and very disrespectful to them and felt they should not reward Balance and Ridge for their poor behavior. Montgomery whispered something to Laurent, who nodded in response. Montgomery said that they would accept the match to teach low class people like Balance and Ridge a lesson in interactions with the higher class. Balance and Ridge laughed before Balance pushed Montgomery backward, sending him tumbling over his chair to the floor. Laurent helped Montgomery to his feet, calling Balance and Ridge “urchins” as they walked out of the room.
Shannon Worth w/Claudia Winter vs. Jessie Vega
Pop music star Jessie Vega made her return to the wrestling ring against Shannon Worth in the evening’s main event. Worth got on offense quickly after a brief back and forth but got cocky, allowing Vega to fight back. Vega did not appear to have missed a step in her time away from the ring. Vega kept on the attack and had Worth struggling to get back on offense.
Vega hit Worth with a drop kick and ran off the ropes for a senton but Worth rolled away and struck back against Vega. Worth became aggressive and used body shots and slams to weaken Vega. Winter looked pleased outside the ring as Worth was in full control of the match. Worth tried to pin Vega a few times, but Vega kicked out. Worth taunted Vega, stomping on her as she tried to get up from the mat. Worth prepared for a spinning forearm smash to finish off Vega. Vega got to her feet but as Worth went to strike, Vega dodged and rolled Worth up into a schoolboy pin. The surprise pin attempt was enough to keep Worth down and secured Vega a victory.
Jessie Vega celebrated as the show closed while Claudia Winter tried to console an irate Shannon Worth at ringside.
