Masters of Wrestling is teaming up with MoW Champion Tracy Blood to host her Mixed Martial Arts tournament, Beach Brawl, on July 17th. Blood, a former MMA competitor, has hand-picked eight women to compete in the tournament.
“Although I grew up in a pro wrestling household and I am a world champion wrestler, I still love MMA and promoting my own tournament is a dream come true,” Blood said in statement to MoW.
MoW has a special interest in this event beyond helping Blood host it. MoW management has agreed to award the winner of the tournament with an opportunity to challenge Blood for the MoW Championship. The winner will meet Blood in a title match during the upcoming MoW autumn season.
“We will be watching the tournament with great interest as the winner will face Tracy Blood for the MoW Championship this fall,” says Tiger Johnson, MoW Commissioner.

Tracy Blood shared her reasons for her selections. “I wanted to give an opportunity to those in MoW who are hungry and eager for their big break. I invited Annika because of her past wrestling experience and as a current MMA fighter, it seemed right to have her here.” When asked about former champion, Cate Stiles, Blood was clear about her omission. “Cate Stiles had her day in the sun. It is time to move on. Cate Stiles will not be allowed at Beach Brawl. In fact, security has been advised to remove her from the beach if she shows up.”
The event will take place July 17th at Daytona Beach, Florida, with the tournament held on the beach, open to the public, in a wrestling ring. Fights will have a ten minute time limit and can be won by knockout, submission, or referee stoppage. In case of a time limit draw, a panel of judges will vote to decide a winner. Aerial offense from turnbuckles is forbidden, though wrestling moves can be used. Competitors will wear regulation MMA gear.
