The Diamond Peak (Preston Montgomery and Pierre Laurent) w/Claudia Winter vs. The Navigators (Aiden North and Pete Arrow)
The show began with The Navigators taking on The Diamond Peak. The Navigators showed off their experience as former MoW Team Champions by maintaining offense in the opening minutes. Pierre Laurent found himself tossed through the ropes and then hit with a baseball slide by Aidan North. North rolled Laurent back into the ring but was confronted by an angry Claudia Winter. North ignored her but the distraction was enough for Laurent to put the boots to North before tagging in Preston Montgomery.
Montgomery was aggressive in his attack on North and cut him off from getting a tag to Pete Arrow. The Diamond Peak worked together to wear down North, attempting to pin The Navigator as Winter coached them from outside. North refused to stay down and broke The Diamond Peak’s momentum when he dodged a clothesline by Montgomery and caught him on the rebound with a back body drop. North held his back as he dragged himself to his corner to tag in an anxious Arrow.
Arrow blasted Montgomery and bulldozed over Laurent when he tried to interfere. Arrow threw Montgomery around with slams and used a brutal powerbomb to lay him out. Arrow tagged in North who promptly climbed the turnbuckle for a shooting star press but Laurent stepped into the ring to stop him. Arrow attacked Laurent and the referee tried to break the two up. Winter climbed up on the apron and shoved North off the turnbuckle. North crashed to the mat next to Montgomery, who quickly hooked North’s legs and rolled him up for a pin. The referee counted to three and The Diamond Peak snuck a victory from The Navigators.
Following the match, Claudia Winter took a microphone and asked if MoW management was paying attention because her tag team was coming for the MoW Team Championship.
Personal and Career Highlights
MoW Correspondent Kimberly Kennedy was backstage with Jessie Vega. Vega was accompanied by her girlfriend, Maria Estrella.
Kennedy addressed last week’s revelation that Vega and Estrella were in a romantic relationship. Vega took Estrella’s hand and said they have a relationship that has survived many hardships but they love each other and Vega said she was happier than she’s ever been.
Kennedy then addressed Vega’s new album releasing in the summer. Vega promised her new album is the best music she’s produced yet and she is thrilled to get it into the hands of her fans.
Kennedy was about to ask another question when Carolina Deene interrupted. Deene congratulated Vega on her next album and had no doubt it would be her best music because it couldn’t be any worse than her previous work. Vega rolled her eyes but Estrella took exception to Deene’s disrespect. Estrella told Deene to apologize but Deene scoffed at Estrella and said that Estrella was too much in love to know that Vega was tone deaf. Estrella told Deene that she would have to get her own hearing checked after she was done with her. Vega put on a hand on Estrella’s chest and told her to relax as Deene walked away.
A Deserved Challenger
MoW Champion Tornado came down to address the audience about winning the title at Final Round and defeating Mark Blood on the debut episode of Rapid Fire.
Tornado said he knew he wanted to be a wrestler since he watched his father compete in SCSF. He recalled the early days of his own career in NRWL and his journey to reach MoW. Tornado said he worked hard last year to stand out and becoming MoW Champion was the pinnacle of his career, though he promised to climb even higher.
Tornado acknowledged the intense pressure of defending the title against MoW’s best wrestlers but said he would not shy away from any challenger.
Tornado’s promise of being a proud, defending champion was challenged by former MoW Champion Cole Arcane, who came down to the ring and stood face to face with Tornado. Arcane congratulated Tornado on becoming champion and then defeating Mark Blood in a rematch. Arcane noted that he was not given a rematch when Blood took the MoW Championship from him and now he wants an opportunity to get the title back.
Tornado had no issue with Arcane’s challenge and said he would be happy to face him in the ring. Tornado extended his hand for a handshake that Arcane accepted. Tornado tried to let go but Arcane maintained his grip and said he was not walking away from their match without the MoW Championship around his waist again. The two men had a tense stare down before Arcane left the ring.
Rex Anarchy vs. Mark Blood
Two of MoW’s most heated rivals met in the main event match. Mark Blood and Rex Anarchy locked up and had a back and forth display of chain wrestling that ended when Blood snuck in an elbow to Anarchy’s head. Blood wasted no time getting vicious with his enemy, including dragging Anarchy’s face across the ring ropes and grabbing a tag rope from a turnbuckle to choke him. The referee warned Blood to stop. Blood let go of Anarchy but then nailed him between the shoulder blades with a knee strike.
Blood taunted Anarchy that he was a cancer to MoW and needed to be shown the door. Blood loudly proclaimed himself to be the person MoW needs to keep people like Anarchy from ruining it. The crowd showed their disapproval to Blood who looked frustrated at the rejection.
Anarchy broke free of an abdominal stretch and began fighting back. Blood backpedaled from Anarchy in defense but Anarchy was relentless, refusing to let Blood get space between them. Anarchy used a neckbreaker and covered for a pin but Blood got a foot on the rope to break the count. Anarchy tried for a fisherman suplex to finish Blood off but Blood blocked the move with a desperate choke hold. Blood couldn’t maintain the hold but it was enough to get opening for a comeback of his own.
Blood went after Anarchy’s neck and looked ready to try a tombstone piledriver. Anarchy anticipated the move, however, and jabbed Blood in the gut before he could be picked up. Anarchy ran off the ropes and came in for a clothesline but Blood caught him and used a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Blood quickly scooped up Anarchy and dropped him with a tombstone piledriver. Blood covered for a pin but Anarchy kicked out.
Blood was stunned that Anarchy kicked out. Anarchy got to his knees and laughed at Blood before throwing him a middle finger. Blood was infuriated and ran at Anarchy but was grabbed and whipped into the corner. Blood stumbled back from the turnbuckle and ran into Anarchy, who got him in position for a fisherman suplex. Anarchy pinned Blood to the mat and won the match by pinfall.
Rex Anarchy celebrated in the ring while Mark Blood sat outside the ring to collect himself. As Blood listened to the crowd cheering, he looked confused and frustrated. Blood pulled off an elbow pad and threw it in anger before leaving ringside.
Only One Of Us
Kassidy Fortune came to the ring and apologized for not introducing herself on last week’s episode of Horizon. Fortune identified herself as the final Wildheart Wrestling Club Champion and while she is honored to be in MoW, WWC meant so much to her career that she will carry it in her heart until its final beat.
Fortune recounted the final moments of WWC’s farewell show where MoW Champion Shannon Worth spoiled the celebration. Fortune said she would not rest until Worth answers for her disrespect.
Cate Stiles had heard enough and cut off Fortune before joining her in the ring. Stiles thought that she made it clear last week that Fortune should stay out of her way. Fortune suggested they wrestle for it. Stiles considered the challenge and agreed to it.
The Diamond Peak leader, Claudia Winter, came down to ringside to address the situation. Winter said that both women should wrestle to resolve their differences but they don’t get to decide who faces Shannon Worth for the MoW Championship. Winter didn’t think Stiles or Fortune were deserving of a match with Worth.
Fortune and Stiles both backed Winter into a corner. Winter tried to smooth things out with the women, but only long enough to allow Worth to enter the ring and crack a steel chair across both Stiles’s and Fortune’s backs. Worth and Winter attacked Stiles and Fortune while Preston Montgomery and Pierre Laurent ran down for support. Montgomery threw in another chair and Laurent surfaced a sledge hammer from under the ring and slid it across the canvas.
Winter continued to assault Fortune with chair shots but Worth had something more brutal in mind for Stiles. Worth placed Stiles’s right leg in between one of the steel chairs and stomped on it several times. Stiles writhed in pain and cried out. Stiles’s husband, Jax Rivers, ran down to the the ring to save his wife from further damage but Montgomery and Laurent were able to subdue him.
Rivers was forced to watch in horror as Worth once again put Stiles’s leg in the chair. Worth picked up the sledge hammer and then drove it into the chair several times. Stiles shrieked in pain as Rivers managed to free himself and dive into the ring. The Diamond Peak fled the ring and watched from the aisle as Rivers tended to his seriously injured wife. Fortune crawled over to Stiles to check on her as medical staff rushed into the ring.
The Diamond Peak began to walk through the curtain to go backstage but Shannon Worth turned and looked at the chaos in the ring as an evil smile grew across her face.
