A Demonstration of Consequences

The final Horizon for 2022 opened with MoW Correspondent Kimberly Kennedy in the ring with Tracy Blood. Kennedy explained that Blood had an announcement.

Blood said that she and Meghan DeWitt are scheduled to have a match at next week’s Final Round 2022 supershow. Blood said that DeWitt practically begged for this match and that was the biggest mistake of her career. Blood announced that a kickboxing and MMA demonstration would happen later in the show for each woman to show off their skills. Blood promised to give DeWitt a glimpse into the trouble she’s gotten herself into.

The Door (Malcom and Richter) vs. Balance and Ridge

The opening match was a saw The Door pushing Balance and Ridge to the limit. Every time Balance and Ridge were building momentum, The Door found a way to stop them in their tracks.

Malcom used a backstabber on Balance and pinned him but Ridge flew off the ropes and broke up the pin with a flipping leg drop. This brought Richter into the ring but he was stopped in his tracks by a fired-up Ridge. Balance and Ridge made a huge offensive push but it wasn’t meant to last. Richter dropped Balance with a DDT and pinned him for the win.

The Door celebrated by continuing to beat on Balance and Ridge after the bell. Hardcore Adam and Tornado rushed down to the ring to fend off Malcom and Richter. Adam grabbed a microphone and said that he understood The Door was trying to send a message and the message was received. Tornado challenged The Door to a match at Final Round, which was accepted.

Champions United

Kimberly Kennedy was backstage with Rex Anarchy and Cole Arcane. Kennedy asked the team how they felt going into Final Round to challenge The Diamond Peak for the MoW Team Championship. Arcane said that he and Anarchy teamed up at last year’s Final Round and he never thought that would happen again but they have found themselves challenging for the titles. Anarchy admitted The Diamond Peak were not be taken lightly but they have the difficult task of defending against two of the toughest MoW Champions in history.

The Diamond Peak’s Preston Montgomery and Pierre Laurent, dressed in suits, arrived and questioned how MoW could allow two slobs like Anarchy and Arcane to be champions. Montgomery said that Anarchy and Arcane used to be champions and those accolades don’t matter to Laurent or himself. Laurent said The Diamond Peak is the future of MoW, not Anarchy and Arcane.

Anarchy was glad to see the champions have confidence because victory will feel better when they take the titles from The Diamond Peak. Montgomery and Laurent laugh off the comment and walk away.

Homecoming

Andre Jordan, Lucia Mendez, and Snarl came down to the ring to address the cheering fans. Snarl spoke of questioning his ability to hang with the younger stars but came to his senses and knows he’s still one of the toughest men in MoW. Snarl admitted he never made any friends in his career except for two people and then pointed toward Jordan and Mendez. Snarl said he wasn’t one to wear his heart on his sleeve and while that isn’t changing, he has a gift for Jordan. Snarl would get a distraction out of Jordan’s quest for the title and challenged Dr. Insidious to match at Final Round.

Jordan and Mendez embraced Snarl before Jordan took the microphone from Snarl. Jordan said he and Killer Malone have some similarities. Both of them worked hard for years in various wrestling promotions and have been overlooked. Both worked with Claudia Winter but Jordan learned quickly that Winter can create opportunities but is ultimately in it for herself. Jordan and Mendez walked away from Winter years ago and he didn’t regret that decision. Jordan said Malone may be on top as MoW Champion but he will walk into Final Round to challenge for the title knowing he got there by himself.

The Diamond Peak’s Claudia Winter and MoW Champion Killer Malone came down to the ring to confront the challenger. Winter dismissed Snarl, saying it wasn’t his fight. Snarl refused to leave. Winter called Jordan a revisionist because she got Jordan a title shot, against Snarl of all people, and he failed. Malone succeeded. Winter accused Jordan and Mendez of abandoning her when things got too hot for them to handle. Winter agreed that Jordan has had some success since then but now he’s reaching for the peak and The Diamond Peak isn’t letting anyone else up.

Jordan and Snarl looked unimpressed. Malone took the microphone from Winter and said he isn’t intimidated by Jordan and come Final Round Jordan will learn his place in MoW is not at the peak but deep in the valley.

Kickboxing and MMA Demonstration

Tracy Blood and Meghan DeWitt met in the ring to demonstrate their fighting skills prior to their match at Final Round.

Blood showed off her kickboxing skills by striking several training dummies. Blood hit hard and kicked the head clean off one of the dummy’s shoulders.

DeWitt said she has been training with an MMA fighter and invited her to come to the ring to help her demonstrate her skills. Blood was shocked when Annika, a pro wrestler-turned-MMA star best known for her time in Rapid Fire Wrestling, came down to the ring.

DeWitt threw Annika around and reversed several holds as the women sparred in the center of the ring. DeWitt looked tenacious and determined. Blood watched with a mix of anger and concern.

Blood, flustered by Annika’s presence, told DeWitt it didn’t matter who she trained with, DeWitt won’t be able to defeat her at Final Round. Annika warned Blood not to be too cocky. Blood teased walking away but then tried to head kick DeWitt. DeWitt ducked and took Blood down with a flying knee. Blood regrouped on the outside, infuriated, as Annika held up DeWitt’s hand in the middle of the ring.

Kami King vs. Kagero Sato

The main event featured MoW Championship number one contender Kami King facing Kagero Sato in singles action. The match featured fast-paced technical wrestling in the opening minutes of the match. King got the better of Sato and tried to keep her down with pins but Sato fought free.

Sato used at atomic drop on King which began to turn the match in Sato’s favor. King was on the receiving end of a slower, more aggressive offense. Sato had King struggling to get to her feet as she circled around her waiting for an opportunity to strike. Sato wrapped King with an octopus hold. King struggled to escape but was able to roll herself forward, sending Sato falling onto her back. King began a spirited comeback before hitting Sato with a super kick. King pinned Sato for the victory.

Following the match, King and Sato shook hands before Sato left the ring to King to celebrate her win.

Kami King’s Dream

Kami King was interviewed in the ring by Kimberly Kennedy who congratulated King on her victory and asked how she felt going into Final Round to challenge MoW Champion Shannon Worth. King talked about the challenge ahead of her and admitted Worth was her biggest challenge yet. King acknowledged that Worth worked hard to become the dominant champion and King admitted she would be the underdog. King refused to be overlooked and insisted that she, too, has worked hard and continues to work hard despite setbacks, broken bones, and people, including loved ones, questioning her chances of success. King stated simply that she refused to lose at Final Round.

MoW Champion Shannon Worth came down to the ring, without Claudia Winter, to confront King. Worth said she wanted to talk to King woman-to-woman. Worth said everyone has dreams but there isn’t enough room for all of them to come true. Worth’s dream is to become the longest reigning MoW Champion of all time, something that will put her in the history books. She has come too far to lose and will kill King’s dream on her way to immortality.

King felt she was stronger than Worth because she fought her way this far against all odds and suggested Worth, like the rest of The Diamond Peak, would not be champion if not for Claudia Winter. Worth was angered and teased striking King but backed off and promised King’s dream will become nightmare at Final Round.
