Hello, MoW fans! This is MoW founder and President C.W. Sunderland with a look at what you can expect from us this year.
We ended 2022 with one of our best Final Round shows yet and threw in a fun Holiday Mayhem special as a thank you for your continued support. We are proud of how far MoW has come since we relaunched in 2019 but despite all we have accomplished, this year is going to be extra special.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of our first show back in 1993. We are going to celebrate this accomplishment but are taking the opportunity to make changes that will move MoW forward for the years ahead.
I have much to cover this year including details on MoW’s association with the Open Wrestling Alliance, a major overhaul of our live shows, and a new championship title.
Thank you, as always, for supporting MoW.
Free Agency with the Open Wrestling Alliance
MoW has helped form the Open Wrestling Alliance, an exciting new endeavor consisting of many wrestling promotions, big and small, to share resources and provide a free agency system for wrestlers to find work.
We feel the free agency pool will be a welcome resource for both wrestlers and promotions. Wrestlers can get new opportunities and we can bring in fresh faces to help make MoW the best it can be.
We previously reported that The Navigators have opted to try the free agency and they are joined by Balance, The Convict, Yurei, Dezzy Nightshade, and Joslyn Sky. We wish them well. MoW is recruiting from free agency and we are pleased to announce the signings of Ruslan Panov, Mary Jane Elder, Mikey Armstrong, Paul Priest, Cool Spencer, and Delilah.
A New Women’s Championship
MoW’s women’s division has been highly competitive since its inception. We invested in the women’s division last year by hiring the women of Wildheart Wrestling Club and this year we are going a step further to introduce a new championship title for the women to compete for.
We are thrilled to introduce the MoW Wildheart Championship as the latest title in our promotion. This new singles title joins the MoW Championship to expand the championship scene in MoW. We will be holding a tournament throughout our spring season culminating with the finals at our spring supershow. The winner will be crowned the inaugural MoW Wildheart Champion.
Today’s MoW was built on the achievements of modern promotions that came before it and we consider Wildheart Wrestling Club to be an important pillar of our promotion. Many of the women in MoW today came from WWC and continue to make our women’s division a key part of our shows. The MoW Wildheart Championship celebrates the legacy of WWC and ensures its spirit has a place in professional wrestling for years to come.
Rapid Fire Wrestling
WWC is not the only wrestling promotion that helped form the modern day MoW. Today’s MoW was relaunched in the footsteps of Rapid Fire Wrestling, a promotion that featured many of today’s biggest MoW stars.
Last year, we ran two shows. The first was our flagship show that we branded MoW Horizon. The second show was a smaller, action-forward production called MoW Rapid Fire. This year, we have decided to consolidate back to one show.
Our flagship show will continue but we are rebranding it to Rapid Fire Wrestling and it will feature more in-ring wrestling action than before. We felt it was important to bring the Rapid Fire Wrestling name forward in tribute to the promotion that played a big part in our history.
MoW returns with our first Rapid Fire Wrestling show of the spring season on April 8th.
In Closing
As always, thank you for being with us for another year of MoW. We are gearing up to bring you the best year of Wrestling action we’ve ever done as we celebrate 30 years of MoW.
