The summer season at Daytona Beach, FL partied on. NCSF defended the MoW Team Championship, Pierre Laurent trained for his upcoming title match, Cole Arcane and Rex Anarchy cause boardwalk calamity, and more.
Annika vs. Sheena
The show kicked off in the late afternoon heat with Annika facing the powerful Sheena. Sheena kept the judo fighter on her heels in the early going minutes of the match but Annika reversed her fortunes and was able to get Sheena to submit with an arm breaker.
Annika had her arm raised in victory when Tracy Blood showed up in the ring to confront her. Annika had defeated Blood in their previous encounter at Mad Season. Blood had a request for Annika.
“You proved yourself to be a great fighter and being in the ring with you is a fighter’s dream. You came out the better fighter last time we met. I am here to ask for a rematch, next week on this beach, in this ring.” -Tracy Blood
Annika accepted, securing a big fight for the next show.
Lucia Mendez Receives a Gift
Lucia Mendez and Andre Jordan were walking along the shoreline when they were approached by a man who delivered Mendez flowers. Mendez gave Jordan a kiss and thanked him but Jordan said they weren’t from him.
Mendez looked at the card attached to the bouquet to discover the flowers came from Paul Priest. Mendez threw the flowers into the ocean and Jordan vowed to stop Priest from bothering her.
Training for a Diamond
Claudia Winter’s quest to dethrone MoW Champion Killer Malone continued with Pierre Laurent training with MoW Champion Shannon Worth. The Diamond Peak had setup a quiet area of the beach with practice dummies, targets, and heavy bags.
Worth led the training of Laurent and had him completing drills to improve his striking, grappling, and submissions. Worth then gave Laurent a gift.
“Malone can hit you, at ay time, with his knockout punch. If that happens, you are done. You need a similar weapon. My spinning elbow won me the MoW Championship and helped me defend it for over a year. If you use it, you can be a champion, too.” -Shannon Worth
Laurent practiced the spinning elbow and used it to great effect in training. Winter watched with a look of confidence.
Opportunity Challenged
MoW Commissioner Tiger Johnson spoke with indie wrestlers Chucky Arter and Eric Waves regarding their appearance on last week’s Rapid Fire Wrestling.
“I really like you guys. You worked with us as professionals and I thought your ring work was solid. I don’t have spots available for you on a permanent basis right now but I’d like to keep the lines of communication open to —” -Tiger Johnson
Johnson was interrupted by The Door, Malcom and Richter. The Door attempted to dismiss Arter and Waves so they could talk to Johnson. Arter and Waves refused to be disrespected and stood up to The Door. Johnson was impressed and made a match between the two teams official for next week’s show.
Bill Stanton vs. Ridge
Two of MoW’s veteran wrestlers competed in singles action. As the match progressed, Cool Spencer, Paisley Alden, Alexandra Morgan, and Rus Samson wandered from their beach campsite into the audience to heckle Bill Stanton and Ridge.
Stanton and Ridge ignored them at first but left the ring together to confront the group when the distraction became too much. The group said they were just having fun. Stanton slapped a cup out of Spencer’s hand, which splashed Morgan. Spencer and Samson brawled with Stanton and Ridge, ending the match in a no contest. Officials had to come down to ringside to break up the fight.
Carolina’s Big “Win”
Kimberly Kennedy stood with Carolina Deene on the sand and asked Deene about her questionable victory over Cate Stiles last week. Deene was quick to gloat about the win.
“It doesn’t matter how I won the match. I won the match! Cate Stiles is what I said she was. She used to be great but she’s not anymore. I just feel terrible that it had to be me that showed the world that.” -Carolina Deene
Kennedy was about to ask another question but Deene backed away and fled the area as Stiles approached. Kennedy took the opportunity to get her thoughts on Deene.
“Carolina Deene likes to think she knows it all and has no problem telling everyone that. I know something she doesn’t. At Tidal Wave, we’ve got a rematch. And when it’s over, I am not going to feel terrible that it had to be me that finally shuts her up for good.” -Cate Stiles
Stiles looked confident as she walked away.
Boardwalk Brawl
Kimberly Kennedy was about to bring out another guest but was stopped to look at a disturbance above her on the boardwalk. The audience moved toward the boardwalk to watch Cole Arcane and Rex Anarchy brawling. The bitter enemies brawled in the crowds and passerby. Both men were bleeding and Arcane was wearing a t-shirt that was torn.
The brawl moved in and out of shops, including a gift shop that was completely destroyed. Arcane was sent through a glass window and the brawl continued until police showed up and arrested both men.
Mia Mercury Interview
With the boardwalk brawl under control, Kimberly Kennedy brought out MoW Wildheart Champion Mia Mercury to discuss her challenger at Tidal Wave, Kassidy Fortune. Kennedy asked Mercury about Fortune’s match at least week’s show.
“Yeah, I saw it. Kassidy sent me a message with that match. She is more aggressive. More ruthless. And that’s fine. I’m not afraid of her. I am the MoW Wildheart Champion. She says this title was meant for her. No. It was meant for me because I earned it. If she wants to earn this title, she will have to defeat me at Tidal Wave and that is a tall order.” -Mia Mercury
Mercury looked confident as she stood proud with the title belt over her shoulder before leaving Kennedy’s interview area.
MoW Team Championship Match
Ruslan Panov and Oleg Azarov vs. NCSF (c)
The main event of the show saw NCSF defending the MoW Team Championship against Ruslan Panov and Oleg Azarov.
The audience was treated to a competitive match against two fan favorite teams. The challengers unleashed a powerful offensive early in the match that was stopped when Hardcore Adam tagged in Tornado.
The champions were on the offensive making frequent tags but almost saw their championship run come to an end after Azarov caught Tornado off the ropes and spun him into position for a piledriver. Adam broke up the count and cheered on his partner until Tornado was able to make the tag.
The match continued with both teams giving everything they had. Panov drilled Adam to the mat with rapid fire curb stomps but was clotheslined by Tornado who leapt from the top rope. Panov tried to recover but was dropped with a cutter by Hardcore Adam. Adam covered for the pin and secured a victory. NCSF stood tall with a big title defense.
NCSF shook hands with Ruslan Panov and Oleg Azarov before closing out the show celebrating their successful title defense.
