Tiger Johnson addresses the future of the RFW Grand Championship, The Diamond Peak gains a new member, and The Navigators talk about their championship victory return to RFW.

The RFW Grand Championship Tournament

RFW Commissioner Tiger Johnson opened the show. Johnson came to the ring with Delilah by his side. Johnson hired Delilah to be his administrative assistant in the offseason.

Johnson came to address the RFW Grand Championship that was vacated by Snarl’s retirement last week.

“The RFW Grand Championship is vacant and I am here to announce that we will hold a tournament to determine a new champion, beginning tonight, and will crown that champion at our 100th show.”

Tiger Johnson

Johnson announced that Mark Blood, Killer Malone, The Iconoclast, Ruslan Panov, Rex Anarchy, Tornado, Preston Montgomery, and Andre Jordan would be the participants in the tournament with Ruslan Panov and Preston Montgomery kicking things off immediately.

Quarterfinal Tournament Match
Ruslan Panov vs. Preston Montgomery w/Claudia Winter

Preston Montgomery’s first match back as a member of The Diamond Peak was against the tough-as-nails Ruslan Panov. Panov’s early offense had Montgomery fleeing the ring. Panov followed Montgomery to the outside where Winter distracted him so Montgomery could get an advantage.

Montgomery looked strong on offense against Panov with a few near falls but Panov curb stomped Montgomery late in the match before securing victory by pinfall. The win put Ruslan Panov into the semifinals of the RFW Grand Championship tournament.

A Meeting with the Commissioner

Delilah approached Lost Cause backstage and informed them that Tiger Johnson would like to meet with them in his office. Alexandra Morgan and Rus Samson stood up to leave with Delilah while Cool Spencer and Paisley Alden sat back and said they would catch up.

A Sore Subject

Kimberly Kennedy met up with Jessie Vega and Maria Estrella backstage for an interview. The women were both upbeat and proclaimed they had a great year ahead of them. Kennedy commented that they were rebounding of Vega’s loss to Mary Jane Elder at Final Round which caused Vega’s mood to change and respond in kind.

“Kimberly, what happened at Final Round happened in 2023. This is, let me check my calendar? Ah yes, 2024. We aren’t talking about any of that. But, you know what? We don’t forget and if we see that little rat again we will be sure to take care of her.”

Jessie Vega

Estrella gave Kennedy a sour face and pulled Vega away before any more questions could be asked.

Tracy Blood’s Next Challenge

Tracy Blood came to the ring to address the crowd. Blood admitted coming up short at Final Round, failing to capture the RFW Wildheart Championship from Kassidy Fortune, but said she was a fighter and would be seeking championship gold again.

Blood was interrupted by Yurei who came to the ring to confront her and questioned Blood’s fighting spirit.

“You tell yourself and everyone around you that you are a world class fighter. I hear you but do not believe you. And I will prove it to you.”

Yurei

Yurei tried to strike Blood but Blood dodged and came back with a kick to Yurei’s side. The women brawled in the ring before Blood threw Yurei out of the ring.

No Show

Tiger Johnson, Alexandra Morgan, and Rus Samson were in Johnson’s office in awkward silence. Johnson looked irritated. Delilah entered the office and explained to Johnson that she could not find Cool Spencer or Paisley Alden. Johnson called off the meeting and asked Delilah to schedule a meeting for next week before giving a stern warning to Morgan and Samson to make sure they show up with Spencer and Alden.

The Diamond Peak Adds a Member

Claudia Winter led The Diamond Peak to the ring for an important announcement. Winter revealed that she was bringing in a new member to The Diamond Peak during last week’s show. The new member would join current members Shannon Worth and Preston Montgomery.

Winter touted The Diamond Peak as the most decorated faction in RFW history and that membership in The Diamond Peak was available to only a select few. Winter then described their newest member as someone who has worked hard but needed her leadership to get greater opportunities like she did for Worth and Montgomery.

“I see great potential in our newest member. She will help The Diamond Peak take over the women’s division in RFW. Along with Shannon Worth, she will help bring both the RFW World Championship and RFW Wildheart Championship to us. The future is bright for The Diamond Peak and for our new member. So without further delay, I introduce to you, the newest member of The Diamond Peak, Meghan DeWitt!”

Claudia Winter

Meghan DeWitt came down to the ring to join The Diamond Peak in the ring. Winter embraced DeWitt in a hug while Montgomery looked excited. Worth was angry and told Winter that she was making a mistake. Winter knew of Worth and DeWitt’s past troubles but assured her that they could all work together and DeWitt’s inclusion would make The Diamond Peak stronger. DeWitt offered a handshake which Worth reluctantly accepted.

The Navigators

Kimberly Kennedy was backstage for an interview with the new RFW Tag Team Champions, The Navigators. The Navigators returned to RFW and immediately recaptured the titles from Lost Cause. Kennedy congratulated The Navigators on their return and immediate success. Aidan North said he and Pete Arrow were happy to be champions once again but had concerns about RFW’s tag team division.

“The tag team division was healthy before we left. We were only gone for a year and it is a mess! We had a group of losers as champions and the rest of the good tag teams either fell apart or dropped the ball. Honestly, the bar was lower than we thought it would be.”

Aidan North

Arrow admitted The Navigators had a lot of work ahead of them to clean up the tag team division and it would start with finding suitable challengers for their RFW Tag Team Championship.

Quarterfinal Tournament Match
Tornado vs. Mark Blood

The main event of the show was a quarterfinal match for the RFW Grand Championship tournament. Tornado came to the ring and waited for his opponent, the returning Mark Blood. This match marked the first in-ring competition for Blood in RFW since 2021. There was tension between the two rivals though Tornado did accept a handshake from Blood to start the match.

The audience was treated to a competitive match where Tornado’s speed clashed with Blood’s technical prowess. Tornado was energized after starting a rally of offense that Blood could not stop and nearly pinning Blood several times. Blood made a comeback and tried to get Tornado to submit to a Boston crab. Tornado was able to escape and fight back.

Tornado had Blood in position for corkscrew splash but was unable to hit the landing because Blood got his knees up. Blood capitalized and tried for a tombstone piledriver. Tornado was able to escape and fight back but Blood succeeded on a second tombstone piledriver. Blood covered Tornado and won the match by pinfall.

The victory put Mark Blood into the next round of the RFW Grand Championship tournament. Blood celebrated his win but approached the defeated Tornado and offered another handshake of respect. Tornado shared a few words with Blood before shaking his hand. Tornado left the ring and Blood stayed in the ring the close out the show.
