The tournament to crown the new RFW Grand Champion continued with two big quarterfinal matches, Tracy Blood and Yurei collided, and The Diamond Peak were in action when RFW rolled into Huntsville.

Tournament Quarterfinal Match
Killer Malone vs. Rex Anarchy

The show started off hot with Killer Malone and Rex Anarchy competing in a quarterfinal match in the RFW Grand Championship tournament. Both men held the title during their careers and neither wanted to lose the opportunity to gain it back.

Anarchy tried to finish off Malone with a fisherman buster but Malone blocked the attempt and retaliated with a knockout punch that Anarchy ducked. Anarchy focused his attacks on Malone’s right arm and stomped on his hand in an attempt to neutralize the knockout punch. Anarchy tried to finish off Malone but Malone made a big comeback before hitting the knockout punch. Malone covered Anarchy with a pin to win the match.

The win put Killer Malone into the semifinals. Malone looked pleased with his win as he shook the pain out of his arm. Rex Anarchy looked disappointed as he walked toward the backstage area.

Championship Conquest

Claudia Winter introduced Meghan DeWitt as the newest member of The Diamond Peak last week which upset DeWitt’s former friend and The Diamond Peak’s top star Shannon Worth. Winter met backstage with the group and told them she had big plans for championship victories throughout the year.

“Preston, last week didn’t go our way but don’t worry. You’ll get in the ring with the winner and bring that gold back to us. Meghan, you’ve got a big year ahead of you but before we get there, you’ve got a rematch with Annika. Get through her tonight and people will see you rise higher than ever before. Shannon, I know losing the RFW World Championship has been tough on you but tonight you’ve got a match with Siobhan Wild and we get you back in the title hunt. We’ve got a big night. Let’s do this!”

Claudia Winter

Meghan DeWitt and Preston Montgomery traded high fives and stepped away while Shannon Worth pulled Claudia Winter aside and expressed her concern that DeWitt was given a higher profile match. Winter assured Worth she was reading too much into it and everything would be fine. Winter sensed Worth was unhappy, admitted there was a lot of change, and asked her to be a team player.

Tracy Blood vs. Yurei

An altercation at last week’s show brought Tracy Blood and Yurei into the ring to settle their differences. Blood came out strong early in the match but missed a head kick when Yurei ducked, lifted Blood in the air, and tossed her to the mat. Blood was shocked but got up to continue fighting where the women traded blows.

Yurei dazed Blood with a vicious DDT and then began a violent assault. Yurei dragged Blood out of the ring and was relentless in slamming Blood on the hard floor, stomping on her neck and back, and drilling her into the floor with a piledriver. The referee stepped between Yurei and Blood and waved off the match out of concern for Blood’s health.

Yurei nudged past the referee and continued attacking the defenseless Blood. This brought out Kami King to save her friend. Yurei brawled with King until she was hit with a super kick and stumbled off. King stayed with Blood while medical staff took Blood out on a stretcher.

RFW released a statement that Tracy Blood suffered back and neck injuries and would be unable to compete while undergoing further evaluation.

A Surprise for Jessie

Jessie Vega was backstage finishing an exercise with Maria Estrella. Vega rubbed her shoulder and stretched out her legs complaining that she was sore. Estrella put her arm around Vega and told her she scheduled a surprise spa day for the two of them next week and already got permission from RFW Commissioner Tiger Johnson to take the night off. Vega was excited and kissed Estrella before the pair walked off.

Mary Jane Elder peeked from behind some production equipment and a sly grin crept across her face having heard the conversation.

Siobhan Wild vs. Shannon Worth w/The Diamond Peak

Shannon Worth was joined by The Diamond Peak for her match against Siobhan Wild. The former RFW World Champion had a strong start against Wild but missed a clothesline that allowed Wild to fight back and build a strong offense.

The Diamond Peak cheered on Worth from ringside which seemed to annoy her. Worth blocked a Canadian Destroyer, turning it into an Alabama Slam, and then made a comeback that secured victory by pinfall following a spinning elbow.

The Diamond Peak came into the ring to celebrate with Worth. Meghan DeWitt put an arm around Worth and congratulated her while Claudia Winter and Preston Montgomery clapped. Worth looked uncomfortable with the situation.

All for One and One For…?

Lost Cause arrived at RFW Commissioner Tiger Johnson’s office for their rescheduled meeting. Cool Spencer and Paisley Alden failed to appear last week, angering Johnson. Lost Cause were jovial as they entered the office but quickly became serious when they realized Johnson was glaring at them. Johnson’s assistant, Delilah, looked nervous in the uncomfortable silence. Johnson looked over the group and then dropped big news.

“I invited you all to meet with me last week because I had an exciting opportunity for you. As you know, RFW is part of the Open Wrestling Alliance and we work with other wrestling promotions around the world. I thought the four of you could do a little travel, get some experience elsewhere, and come back in a few months. But Alden, Spencer, you failed to show. So, I have changed my mind. You are both fired. Alexandra, Rus, you are still part of the RFW family. This has nothing to do with you.”

Tiger Johnson

Spencer and Paisley were at a loss for words. Alexandra Morgan and Rus Samson were stunned. Samson looked at his friends, then to Johnson, and refused to accept the decision.

“This isn’t right. You can’t break up Lost Cause! We are together forever. It has everything to do with us. If Paisley and Spencer go, so do we. Right, Lexi? …. Lexi?”

Rus Samson

Samson was confused as Morgan took a small step back with a distressed look. Morgan slowly looked at the members of Lost Cause before explaining herself.

“Guys, look, you are my best friends. But I have a future here. I can’t give that up. It’s been a blast being with you but I can’t follow you. Not this time. I’m sorry.”

Alexandra Morgan

Lost Cause were unable to say anything in response and walked out of the office together, leaving Morgan behind. Delilah put a comforting hand on Morgan’s shoulder while Johnson reassured her that everything would be ok.

Meghan DeWitt w/The Diamond Peak vs. Annika

Meghan DeWitt was joined by The Diamond Peak for her match with Annika. The Final Round rematch saw Annika best DeWitt with takedowns and submissions. Claudia Winter and Preston Montgomery cheered on DeWitt from ringside while Shannon Worth watched silently with her arms crossed.

DeWitt hit Annika with some hard kicks and began a strong offense. DeWitt looked impressive against her former mentor as she had a few near falls and locked in some holds that Annika struggled to free herself from.

DeWitt missed a flying knee and crashed into the turnbuckle allowing Annika to make a big comeback. DeWitt found herself in an armbreaker and, much like their Final Round match, DeWitt stretched her foot toward the ropes to try and break the submission. Winter waited for the referee to look away and then put DeWitt’s foot on the rope. The referee broke the hold and Montgomery stood on the apron to taunt Annika. Annika shoved Montgomery off the apron and turned to DeWitt who recovered enough to roll Annika into a school boy pin and secure the victory.

Meghan DeWitt was ecstatic and celebrated with The Diamond Peak. Shannon Worth stood against the ropes and gave a half hearted clap. Annika walked away annoyed at the interference that cost her the match.

Tournament Quarterfinal Match
Andre Jordan w/Lucia Mendez vs. The Iconoclast w/Dezzy Nightshade

The main event was an RFW Grand Championship tournament match between Andre Jordan and The Iconoclast. Jordan found himself on the receiving end of a powerful attack by The Iconoclast throughout the match. Jordan refused to stay down when pinned, however, and slowly fought his way toward an offensive push.

The Iconoclast tossed Jordan across the ring into a turnbuckle and tried for a running cannonball but Jordan rolled out of the way, allowing him to capitalize and wear down The Iconoclast further. Jordan was closing in on victory when Dezzy Nightshade began to climb the ring apron. Mendez pulled her down, ducked Nightshade’s attempt to spit purple mist at her, and suplexed Nightshade on the floor. Jordan was energized and waited for The Iconoclast to get to his feet. Jordan ran toward The Iconoclast but was grabbed by the throat and choke slammed into a turnbuckle. The Iconoclast crushed Jordan with a running cannonball in the corner and covered him for a pin to win the match and advance to the semifinals of the tournament.

Dezzy Nightshade recovered and joined The Iconoclast in the ring to close the show.
