Welcome back, Rapid Fire Fanatics! Shawn Roberts here to cover all the news you need to know about the aftermath of New Era Eruption. We’ve got a super sized episode of RFW to cover so let’s get to it.
Welcome to Rapid Fire Wrestling!
Kenneth Cobb vs. Ruslan Panov w/Rex Anarchy
We kicked this show off with Kenneth Cobb, fresh off his RFW in-ring debut last week, taking on Ruslan Panov. Panov’s Lords of Chaos partner Rex Anarchy stood by at ringside.
Cobb and Panov both looked great here and the HAW alums hit each other hard, fast, and full of aggression. Panov got the upper hand on Cobb with a series of punches but Cobb made a comeback later in the match after using a reverse atomic drop. Panov found himself caught in a sleeper and was forced to submit.
Kenneth Cobb picked up his first solo win here but, you guessed it, his victory celebration was cut short by a Lords of Chaos beatdown. Panov and Anarchy savagely attacked Cobb until Hector Diaz ran down to even the odds and help clear the ring of the Lords of Chaos. Safe to say this feud has more runway.
The Navigators Open Challenge
Kimberly Kennedy was backstage with the reigning RFW Tag Team Champions, The Navigators. Kennedy congratulated the team on their continued success and Aidan North said they were on the roll of a lifetime having defeated all comers. Pete Arrow said they were feeling generous and would offer a title shot to the next team who approaches them.
A nearby door opened. Giggling could be heard. Then the voice of Paisley Alden in a hushed tone said, “Huh. This isn’t the dispensary.” To the horror of The Navigators, Lost Cause stepped into the interview, confused about their whereabouts. When Cool Spencer asked what was going on, Kennedy explained the situation and Lost Cause eagerly accepted the challenge.
There you have it folks. Lost Cause literally stumbled into a title match with The Navigators.
Mikey Armstrong and Preston Montgomery vs. Chucky Arter and Eric Waves
Mikey Armstrong and Preston Montgomery haven’t had success as a team in RFW but give Armstrong credit for just looking happy to be in the ring. Montgomery, on the other hand, looked stressed. Their opponents, Chucky Arter and Eric Waves, were coming off last week’s solid match with The Navigators and looked determined to pick up a victory here.
Armstrong and Montgomery looked good here throughout the match. You can see them starting to gel a bit better as a team. Unfortunately for them, Arter and Waves have proven themselves to already be a well-oiled machine and despite the great effort by Armstrong and Montgomery, After and Waves picked up the win here.
The Agony of Maria Estrella
We went backstage to RFW Commissioner Aurora Starkey’s office where Maria Estrella walked in and informed the boss that she was resigning from RFW! Starkey seemed to understand Estrella’s mindset after being dumped by Jessie Vega for all the world to see but tried to talk her out of it.
“I get it, Maria. What you endured must be incredibly painful but I know you. We’ve fought together. You are one of the toughest women I have ever met! I need you here. I want you to get back on track and be the Maria Estrella of old who can dominate this women’s division. Take some time for yourself but don’t walk away. This isn’t the Maria Estrella I know.” -Aurora Starkey
Despite Starkey’s plea, Estrella placed her resignation letter in her hand walked away. Starkey called after Estrella refusing to accept her resignation. Is Estrella gone? Is she coming back? Folks, I really don’t know and despite my best efforts I can’t get an answer. I hope this isn’t the end of Maria Estrella in RFW but there’s no question she is broken right now.
I Want None of That
Kimberly Kennedy was backstage to get a word with Phueng Ahunai who looked impressive, if unsuccessful, last week in her bid to win the Wildheart. Ahunai was dressed to the nines here. Dressed to kill, as they say. Anyway, Ahunai had thoughts on her next steps in RFW.
“Look at me? Is there anyone more beautiful in RFW than its ’Next Generation?’ I think not. But I should be even more of a stunner with gold around my waist. Kimberly, I may not be champion right now, but you know I was so very close. It’s going to happen, and soon.” -Phueng Ahunai
Ahunai suddenly stopped and took a step back. Yurei, returning to RFW for the first time since Final Round, stood uncomfortably close to Ahunai and stared her down. Ahunai held up her hands and backed away.
Welcome back, Yurei. I worry about whomever stands up to you next.
Four Elements?
Mikey Armstrong was walking around backstage when he was approached by Marcus and Tommy V, The Elements. NRWL fans may remember that Marcus, Tommy, Mikey Armstrong, and Max Destruction were part of the dominant faction The Four Elements. The Elements came to Armstrong with a tempting offer.
“Mikey, Mikey. We’re old friends, right? How fitting for the three of us to be in RFW together. Marcus and I were thinking about the old days. The Four Elements. We were thinking of ‘getting the band back together’ as they say. How about you join up with us again?” -Tommy V
Well, Armstrong was very interested in this reunion but had the impression that the fourth element would be his tag team partner, Preston Montgomery. When Marcus clarified that they felt Montgomery was just holding him back and had someone else in mind for the group, Armstrong wanted nothing to do with them. Tommy V called Montgomery a loser prompting Armstrong to walk away from the situation. Armstrong turned a corner and didn’t notice Montgomery had been watching the whole thing.
Mia Mercury vs. Alexandra Morgan w/Claudia Winter
We went back to the ring for more action! Alexandra Morgan has a big match coming up against Meghan DeWitt for the RFW Wildheart Championship but before she gets there she had to contend with DeWitt’s friend, Mia Mercury.
Morgan’s power was on full display here which pleased her manager Claudia Winter. Mercury was scooped out of the air and crushed to the mat with a powerslam that I thought was going to end this one but Mercury kicked out of a pin. Morgan’s momentum did not last after Mercury hit her with a flying forearm and began her high flying offense.
Mercury was running hot here and was close to pinning Morgan on several occasions but it was a late match comeback that culminated in a vicious spinning side slam that sealed her fate. Morgan with the pin and the hard-fought, but decisive, victory.
Eye on the Prize
Kimberly Kennedy invited Annika to the ring to talk about her upcoming match with RFW World Champion Kassidy Fortune. Annika was as gracious a challenger as she could be and recognized Fortune as one of the best wrestlers in the world but the judo queen sounded confident about her chances.
“I’m going to speak directly to our World Champion. Kassidy Fortune, you may be one of the breakout stars in recent years and are rarely without a title over your shoulder but you haven’t faced anyone like me. I will take you to the limit. Get too close, I’ll toss you faster than you blink. Throw a punch, I’ll grab your arm and break it. Kick me and I’ll tie your legs up like a pretzel. I am a fighting machine. I’m all business. I’m coming for the World Championship.” -Annika
Annika sounds ready to meet Fortune. Is Fortune ready to defend against Annika. We’ll find out next week when she will be live at the RFW Arena to respond.
The Champion Focuses
2025 should have been the best year of Andre Jordan’s life. He started the year as our RFW Grand Champion, had a beautiful woman by his side, and looked poised to own the year. Things with Lucia Mendez have become, well, complicated and Jordan’s upcoming challenger, The Iconoclast, has questioned his dedicated and focus. Is he right?
According to the Grand Champ, no! Jordan said he hasn’t given up on getting things right with his lady but did let The Iconoclast know that when they clash, he will be ready.
“The Iconoclast thinks he knows me and thinks he has me figured out. Listen, man, my personal life may be on display lately but rest assured I am working harder in that gym than ever before. I’ve run more miles than I ever have. I’m watching videos of your matches. Studying. You think you know the Grand Champion but just you wait until Spring Shockwave and you really do learn what I’m all about!” -Andre Jordan
The Iconoclast and Dezzy Nightshade came down to respond. The Iconoclast believed Jordan was working hard but still doubted his focus. Nightshade added on by calling Jordan a weak champion and a weak man.
To everyone’s surprise, even Jordan, Lucia Mendez came down to the ring to defend him, calling him a phenomenal wrestler and someone she knows will be ready to defend his title. The four argued until words failed and fists did the talking.
Commissioner Aurora Starkey stepped out to announce that the fight should be a proper match and made our main event a mixed tag match!
The Iconoclast and Dizzy Nightshade vs. Andre Jordan and Lucia Mendez
This match was a wild one that barely was contained to proper tag team rules. All four competitors were in the ring most of the time though Lucia Mendez clotheslined Dezzy Nightshade over the ropes send both to the floor where they brawled. Back in the ring, The Iconoclast overpowered Andre Jordan until the champion caught The Iconoclast with a pump handle slam.
Nightshade sidewalk slammed Mendez on the hard floor and dove back into the ring to help The Iconoclast. Jordan was double teamed and in trouble until Mendez climbed the turnbuckle and missile drop kicked The Iconoclast. Nightshade grabbed Mendez off the mat and tried for a brain buster but Jordan freed Mendez.
This match continued to be a wild one right up until the end when Nightshade fell victim to a triangle hold by Mendez while Jordan used a belly-to-belly suplex on The Iconoclast and pinning him for the victory.
The RFW Grand Champion Andre Jordan and Lucia Mendez reunited to fight off their rivals. The pair celebrated together, a feel good moment for these two, but it wasn’t meant to last. No, they didn’t get sneak attacked. I don’t know if he was lost in the moment or misinterpreted Mendez’s presence by his side tonight but Jordan leaned in and kissed her. Mendez looked stunned before slapping Jordan in the face and storming off.
Dude, what were you thinking? Jordan was left alone in the ring. He’ll have to deal with the fallout from this one and we’re going to have to see what happens next week here at Rapid Fire Wrestling!
