RFW 30 To Be Named RFW Retribution

The next big show for RFW, RFW 30, has been branded Retribution.

Hardworkin’ Dave Smith Injured

A brutal piledriver by Andre Jordan has left Vito DeFazio’s life coach, Hardworkin’ Dave Smith, with head and neck injuries. Smith is recovering at home.

Spotlight: Max Destruction

Max Destruction and King Donovan are going to war with each other at RFW Retribution and while it may be Max’s first RFW match, it is only the latest in a long, storied career in combat sports.

Max Destruction started fighting in underground street fights as a young adult. He became a legitimate fighter when he started training to be a boxer. Although he showed promise early on, it wasn’t until he met Masters of Wrestling founder and current RFW owner, C.W. Sunderland, that he career really took off. With Sunderland’s backing, Max was able to get better sponsorships and reach a level of visibility in the boxing community. Max quickly climbed the ranks and became a top name in boxing. His fame helped launch a series of comic books where Max was portrayed as a super hero.

Max stepped away from boxing and transitioned to a wrestler as part of the original roster of the New Revolution Wrestling League, a promotion co-founded by Sunderland. Max was part of the NRWL for the first two seasons before returning to boxing. Years later, Max returned to NRWL where he had a highly successful run with the power group, The 4 Elements. During this time, Max won the NRWL Championship.

In recent years, Max has stepped away from active competition but has continued to train in combat sports and has started training the next generation of fighters. His guest appearance in RFW led to a confrontation with King Donovan which led to Donovan challenging the legend to a match. Max Destruction’s return to the ring is making waves in the combat sports community and his match against King Donovan is sure to be another highlight on his long and storied career.

Show Recap

Jade vs. Tracy Blood

The show opened with a determined Tracy Blood looking to turn around her recent string of losses in her match against Jade. Blood hit hard and fast, taking Jade off guard in the early going of the match. Jade took a hard kick to the side and retreated to the outside of the ring to catch her breath. Tracy Blood limbered up in the ring and waited for Jade to step back through the ropes.

Blood got more offense in by taking Jade down on the mat for some submissions. Back on their feet, Jade ducked a drop kick by Blood and responded with a shocking offense utilizing her strength. Jade wore down Blood with slams and holds focusing on weakening her back. Jade went for a gutwrench suplex but Blood shifted her weight and freed herself of the hold. Blood made a comeback and had Jade in position for a head kick. Jade ducked the kick, ducked a quick second attempt, and tackled Blood. Jade quickly took advantage with some quick offense before slamming Blood with a gutwrench suplex. Jade covered for a pin and picked up the win.

Tracy Blood looked numb as she watched Jade celebrate in the ring. As Jade left ringside, Monica Stone approached Blood for an interview. Stone consoled Blood on her loss and then asked about her recent string of losses since losing the Valkyrie Championship. Tracy Blood only stared at Stone before walking away.

Hardworkin’ Vito DeFazio

Vito DeFazio came down to the ring wearing Hardworkin’ Dave Smith’s trucker cap on his head. DeFazio looked very angry and paced the ring as though he was looking for the right words. Finally, he said that Andre Jordan went way over the line by putting Smith in the hospital. He said Smith didn’t deserve being attacked. DeFazio lifted the cap on his head and said he wears Smith’s iconic hat in tribute and challenged Jordan to a match at RFW Retribution.

Andre Jordan came out to ringside, laughing. He said he would be happy to get an easy payday and accepted the match.

An Unexpected Challenge

The Lords of Chaos came out to a chorus of boos as they posed in the ring. Rex Anarchy addressed his upcoming Titan Championship title defense against Jax Rivers at RFW Retribution. Anarchy said that Rivers has become an annoying gnat and he can talk a tough game but anyone who steps in the way of the Lords of Chaos meet a crushing end.

Witchmere, fresh off of a controversial title defense against Cate Stiles, gloated about how she knocked off the beloved Stiles in their match. She said that Stiles will think twice about getting anywhere near the Valkyrie Championship again. Right on cue, Cate Stiles music began to play as the crowd burst into loud applause. Stiles marched down to the ring and paced around all three members of the Lords of Chaos. Stiles said that Witchmere can be delusional about their match if it makes her feel good but everyone knows that if Pit Viper hadn’t interfered, she would be holding the Valkyrie Championship, not Witchmere.

Witchmere started to respond but Stiles cut her off. She said that she didn’t come out to complain about the interference. Instead, she came with a message. If all of the Lords of Chaos want to get involved, she will tear the whole group apart. Rex Anarchy laughed at Stiles and said she is the one who is delusional, not Witchmere. Stiles grinned and said she will prove it before the end of the night. Witchmere, assuming Stiles was looking for a match, said she was out of chances. Stiles said she wasn’t challenging Witchmere, she was challenging Pit Viper. The crowd roared with excitement. All three members of Lords of Chaos were stunned. Pit Viper accepted the challenge but Stiles had one more twist. If she wins, she gets another title shot against Witchmere at RFW Retribution. Witchmere looked furious about the stipulation but Pit Viper reinforced his decision and told Stiles the match was on. Witchmere and Rex Anarchy did not look pleased.

Mark Blood vs. Cole Arcane

Unresolved issues between Mark Blood and Cole Arcane bring them back into the ring against each other. The match started off with with a stare down. Both men traded some words and commenced with a slugfest. Arcane out-punched Blood and started to slow things down with some slams. Blood ducked a clothesline off the ropes and rebounded with a drop kick. Both men got up at the same time and locked up in the middle of the ring. Arcane again got the advantage and suplexed Blood to the mat. Before he could continue the momentum, Arcane was attacked from behind by JT Crusher. Crusher threw Arcane off the ropes and caught him with a bit boot. Mark Blood stood up and was immediately leveled with another big boot. Crusher powerslammed Blood before tossing Arcane over the ropes to the floor.

JT Crusher picked up a microphone and said he will not be pushed aside by either man, referencing Mark Blood’s interference in Crusher’s recent match against Cole Arcane. Crusher promised to wreck both men and said he would see them both at RFW Retribution in a triple threat match.

Someone You’ve Never Seen Before

Annika came down to the ring to address her match against Aurora Starkey at the previous show. Annika acknowledged that she lost the match and said it should have ended there, but then Starkey had to go and humiliate her in the middle of the ring after the bell. Annika said she doesn’t like bullies and challenged Starkey to a rematch. She paused, and then said if Aurora Starkey wants to make this personal, she will see an opponent she has never seen before.

Annika tossed the microphone behind her and left the ring.

Contract Signing

RFW Commissioner Tiger Johnson entered the ring and introduced King Donovan and Max Destruction. Both men had a tense staredown across from the table that was setup in the ring before sitting down on opposite sides. Johnson explained that the contract signing will make King Donovan vs. Max Destruction official for RFW Retribution. Donovan eagerly signed the contract and slid it over to Max. Max held a cold stare on Donovan as he signed the contract, making the match official.

King Donovan took a microphone from the table and laughed, telling Max he had made a terrible mistake by signing his life away. He promised to prove to everyone that Max Destruction can’t compete with him and declared himself the one of the greatest of all time. Max shook his head and said Donovan is nowhere near ready to be considered one of the greats. Donovan said he can’t wait to humiliate Max, which prompted Max to suggest that they don’t need to wait.

Max Destruction slid the table aside. Tiger Johnson grabbed the contract and stepped back into a corner to watch what was about to unfold. Max and King Donovan stood in the center of the ring, trading words back and forth as they stood nose-to-nose. Then, without warning, King Donovan blasted Max Destruction with a right hand. Max stumbled back a step and then came right back at Donovan. A fistfight broke out in the ring as the two heavyweights clubbed each other with punches. Max started to gain the upper hand and Donovan started reeling. Donovan dodged a right hook and low blowed Max with a kick. As Max doubled over, King Donovan moved behind him and drove him through the table with the Full Nelson slam. Max was laying in a pile of broken wood as King Donovan stood over him, looked down, and sneered. He looked out to the crowd, raised his fist high in the air, and accepted all of the jeers from the crowd before leaving.

Cate Stiles vs. Pit Viper

The main event of the evening was one of the few inter-gender matches in RFW history. Cate Stiles entered the ring and was was eager for Pit Viper to arrive. Pit Viper did arrive but not alone. Flanked by the other members of the Lords of Chaos, he looked confident as he walked down the aisle. Pit Viper stood in the ring and Stiles looked around the ring to get a visual on Rex Anarchy and Witchmere.

Pit Viper taunted Cate Stiles as the bell rang to start the match. Stiles wasted no time by locking up in the middle of the ring and pushing Pit Viper to a corner. Pit Viper looked shocked by Stiles’ aggression. He held his hands up for a moment and then shoved Stiles back to the mat. Stiles was quick to get to her feet but Pit Viper wasted no time and kept on the attack. He booted Stiles in the abdomen, suplexed her, and clotheslined her. Stiles looked to be in trouble. After a hard throw to the turnbuckle chest-first, Stiles fell to the mat and cried out in pain. Pit Viper pulled her up by the hair and used his backstabber finisher. It looked like it was a quick end for Cate Stiles when Pit Viper went for the cover but she managed to kick out just before the three count.

Despite the match continuing, Cate Stiles looked hurt. The referee checked on her until she gave him the sign that she was ok to continue. Pit Viper aggressively came back at her and again pulled her up by the hair but he was immediately blasted with a forearm to the nose. Pit Viper recoiled and stumbled backward. He tossed his hair back and touched his nose to find it bleeding. Before he could react, Stiles nailed him with a dropkick. This began a strong comeback for Stiles. She took the match down to the mat, punishing Pit Viper’s legs with stomps and submissions. Pit Viper tried to get back up to his feet but Stiles kept chopping him down.

As Pit Viper seemed to be circling defeat, Witchmere took things into her own hands and got on the apron to distract Cate Stiles. Stiles ran toward Witchmere like a wildcat and nailed her with a dropkick. The Valkyrie Champion flew off the ring apron and collided with the barricade. Witchmere looked to be knocked out as Rex Anarchy ran over to check on her. Stiles continued her attack on Pit Viper, focusing on his right leg. She went for the ankle lock but Rex Anarchy grabbed her leg from outside the ring, causing her to stumble. Stiles jumped out of the ring to confront Anarchy, who argued with her until Pit Viper was able to slip behind and throw her into the steel steps. Stiles clutched at her knee and Pit Viper, on a bad leg himself, rolled her into the ring so he could capitalize.

Pit Viper attacked Stiles’ knee and tried some holds to force her to submit. Stiles fought through the pain and managed to stay in the match. She was able to get to her feet and start another comeback but Rex Anarchy made his presence known once again when Stiles went for a pin. As the referee was counting, he was pulled out of the ring by Anarchy. The referee scolded Anarchy, who merely argued back. Out of nowhere, Cate Stiles dove through the ropes and crashed into Anarchy. The referee got caught by Stiles’ elbow and fell to the floor. Stiles pummeled Anarchy relentlessly until Pit Viper grabbed her from behind and held her in place. Anarchy got up and slapped Stiles hard across the face. He told her she would never see the Valkyrie Championship. He and Pit Viper went to double team but they were distracted by the sound of cheers as Jax Rivers bolted down to ringside. As Anarchy turned around, he was blasted with a series of strikes. Anarchy stumbled back against the ring apron and when he stepped forward, Rivers caught him and brought him to the floor with a brutal flapjack. PitViper, stunned, was hip tossed to the floor by Stiles. She picked him up and rolled him into the ring. Rivers picked up the referee and rolled him into the ring. Stiles applied the ankle lock to Pit Viper once again and he tapped out. The referee was alert enough to see it and called for the bell. Cate Stiles won the match and earned her title shot against Witchmere at RFW Retribution.

As Cate Stiles celebrated in the ring, Jax Rivers applauded her from ringside and kept guard as the Lords of Chaos licked their wounds and dragged each other back up the aisle. Witchmere screeched at Stiles from afar as the challenger stood on a turnbuckle and stared coldly at the Valkyrie Champion.
